Over a year ago I bought the Nortiv8 hiking boots to replace my worn out but beloved Mont Belle light hikers. At the behest and often to the chagrin of my four legged hiking companion I put many miles on these newest boots. I have had zero issues with them, and notwithstanding the dog's occasional moaning when she saw me put them on, I can offer NO complaints. The boots are still comfortable, they still look kinda new, and no, they still don't breathe well. But they are a great value, a superior $40 boot with so much to brag about. I hike. Call me crazy, but I change socks along the way. And with the Nortiv8 I have no compunction about putting in lots of 3 season miles in either the Whites, Berkshires or the Adirondacks. So when I felt I needed a hiking shoe that was more robust than a sneaker it was an easy choice. I bought the Nortiv8 shoes. Same fit, same comfort, same quality build, same sure-footed traction. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke .... It ain't broke, so I stuck with the proven brand. My only wish is that the mutt were still here to enjoy more miles together. She would have been so happy.

Size 11 Wide. Based on the reviews I ordered this hiking shoe, although I never order clothes online. The first pair came with one Wide and one Regular shoe so I sent it back. The next pair was Wide. The shoe is relatively comfortable - but my feet hate new shoes and always take time to adjust. I took them to Yosemite Park, and although I am NOT a hiker, I ended up walking about 8 miles in these shoes over a couple days. The traction is very good on rocks and my feet survived the walking fine, which surprised me. I would recommend these hiking shoes for casual hikers.

Great outdoor work shoe. I wear the same size in these as I do in Adidas running shoes. If I buy Nikes, I gotta get 1/2 size bigger. I always have to buy a 9 in Nike where Adidas I would get a 8.5. If that helps give you an idea of how the sizes of these outdoor shoes might run. Comfortable shoe though. Tough and well made. I'm just doing outdoor chores with them. Not hiking in them.

Only been breaking them in for a day indoors. True to size. I got the wide so I could slip a cushy insole inside. They seem sturdy and well-constructed. Pull the laces out of the tongue loop, and they'll lace up easier. I never believe waterproof claims, but I have nothing yet to report in that regard. If they are not waterproof, I'll not care greatly. May update this review if findings warrant.

Well built and sturdy. However... the lacing system just did not work for me. I really like my shoes to fit snugly, and the "metal grommets" that the laces run through made it very difficult to lace them tight enough. The original laces broke in my hand after less than a month, so I ordered "nylon steel" laces. Still could not get them snug enough without a fight. Overall a quality product, but the eyelets need redesign, IMHO. Can't wear them anymore.... UPDATE - after seeing my review, the seller contacted me and offered to "make things right" with me. I very much appreciated that, it showed an extra level of customer service. I also offered them some input to the design of the shoe, which they seemed open to hearing.

Great shoes! The best part is the wide, i never find hiking wide toe box shoes or any shoes for that matter. They state wide but they are not. I have tried every shoe i could come by Merrel, Keen, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer and the list goes on, and i finally found the best fit for my wide foot. I have a very high arch so support was another issue, this are the best support shoes i have tried also. Size are true for me they fit perfectly and i am supper confortable with these. Every time i find a good product or fit i get paranoid i will not find them again by the time they are worn out, i just ordered two more pairs!!😃

I'm very upset with this purchase. I have never returned anything before. Especially Amazon. Soon after Christmas I purchased these hiking shoes for $40+. I thought it was a fantastic deal because the reviews on Amazon or so high. This is what I found when I pulled the shoes out to use them on February 19th. And Amazon's return policy says the time to return expires on February 12th. I wrote the company politely asking for a refund or exchange and they never responded to me. Not one but the clamps for laces came off in three laces making them unusable. I wore them only *twice* within less than two months. And one was at work indoors mostly. Second time was just as a walk in the rain to put my new "rain gear" to the test. These are supposed to be rugged and waterproof, yet they can't take water puddles or less than 10 miles of hiking. I'm so angry and bitter at this purchase. I can't get my money back and my gripes have fallen on deaf ears, and Amazon's expiration date is wrong. I missed it by 3 days because I didn't pull them out to look at them sooner? They just deteriorate this fast?

Very comfortable, surprisingly nice quality for the price but very warm. Does make a krinkly noise when you first start to wear them but goes away after you wear them a few times, possibly due to whatever is used to waterproof them.Great for winter use but probably won't use for summer hiking.

I was so pleased with my first pair of Norton 8s that I immediately purchased a second pair! They are so comfortable, and being available in half sizes insured a perfect fit. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Very impressed with the quality of the shoes and in particular the price. I am an avid hiker and these shoes more than hold up to the task easily comparable with more expensive name-brand shoes..
