A couple of years ago we were in search of a new bed frame, and my wife really wanted this one that said it was a minimal tool assembly & solid wood construction. That was how we got our first Thuma. And it was great, solid as a rock & easy to assemble. But it was pricey. I figured it was fine, because it was so solid we would be handing this down to our grandkids. A year later, when my youngest needed a new frame, we got a second. But we have a 3rd bedroom. And my oldest moved out 2 years ago. We wanted another sturdy frame, but couldn't see spending too much on a bed that would be rarely used. That was when my wife found Nektar. The frame arrived last week & my wife & child assembled it on their own. I checked & unless you knew, it seems no different than the more EXPENSIVE brand. I would whole heatedly recommend these, especially for the price.

This review is for the Nectar Bamboo Platform Bed Frame - Twin XL - Natural - 12” Height - Easy Tool Free Set Up - Contemporary and Durable - Sturdy Wooden Slats for Support - Holds Up to 500 Pounds. OK so I see I get the honor of the very first review! So OMG! This bed is simply so beautiful! I can't believe I got this on offer and was able to get it! I could not be any happier! I could only get it in the twinXL w/o the headboard in the natural. I would have taken a regular twin if available, but we can make it work just fine! LOL. So, this bed is just beautiful and I love it! Now did I NEED this exact bed...no. But I have long admired them, and really when you consider all aspects of it, it's not that expensive to have one of these! And since I've been planning on redoing my mom's bedroom, why not do it with something this nice? My mom has always had at least a queen size bed, even though her room really isn't big enough for it. I was able to get her to downsize to a full size finally, but only after I bought a fullsize for myself! And then she wanted that bed LOL. So we arranged her room and it's better. But then I got a tall 4 poster twin size bed, which of course she fell in LOVE with and finally agreed to downsize to the twin. And like I told her, it will give her tons more room in her room, she can even have a nice sitting chair then... It's just her and I now since my stepdad passed away, she's not getting married again at her age... she no longer NEEDS a big bed. So, this bed is now the crowning piece for her bedroom! And it totally matches the lighter blond color mid century modern bedroom dresser set she's got! I told her this is fate! LOL. It just couldn't be any more perfect! Be warned the box this is delivered in is BIG and HEAVY! It took all I had with her helping hold the door open for me to very carefully get the box into the house! We then had to just lay it down and scooted it on the floor to the end of the hallway where we stood it up against the wall. So we are going to be setting this put up on risers for her as she has trouble getting up from a lower sitting position. And this bed is designed to not need a boxspring, the added height will allow also us to use storage containers under the bed, which will be a huge help for sorting her clothes out by seasonal and get stuff better organized. I'm trying to make it safer for her too for moving around, lessen the risk of her falling... So it doesn't get any easier to set up than this bed! NO tools needed! This goes together with traditional japanese joinery that is both beautiful & strong, it's aesthetic pleasing to look at having minimalistic clean lines. The legs have graceful curves to them, no more slamming your shins/toes into sharp corners! We don't have a twinXL mattress, but the regular twin is only like 5 inches shorter and I have a fix for that as I have a couple of big foam back cushions for sitting up in bed that I'll put between the end of the mattress and the wall. I don't think the mattress is going to migrate anywhere as mom just sits on her bed or is laying down. She's no longer engaging in more active activities, if you get my meaning. LOL. But once we get this smaller bed in there she'll have a nice chair to sit in too and won't really be sitting on the bed to watch tv much anymore. So this bed is rated for up to 500Lbs! I've seen lots of "modern" beds that aren't rated that high! I remember a time when beds didn't need to come with weight ratings just because it was a given they were well built and would last! So I also love this is made of the renewable bamboo resource, that's very good for our planet! The fit is solid on this bed and the finish is smooth and beautiful! If you don't care for the natural light color finish they have others to choose from in all the usual size choices, without a headboard or with and again diff ones to choose from. There really isn't anything else for me to tell you about the bed, except they do have their own brand of mattresses too LOL. And I have no affiliation to them, I just love this bed! LOL. Regular price $ 349.00 per the listing. Personally I think it's worth it, but as I always say do watch for a sale/coupon, browse listings... and find your best deal! As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

Non Playable Character (Villager)Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2025

I have had to move about 4 different times in my life so far and each one has nearly broke me. Between the packing, the negotiating with movers who have exorbitant prices; and stuff going missing or getting lost….take my word for it is a nightmare. So I am fully embracing minimalism now and I’m in the process of downsizing. i used to have a King Bed with a king mattress, king bed frame, the whole works…there is no way I can move it by myself let alone if i have to move again along with all my other furniture. So I gave it to aa family member who needed it and got this Bed instead…just had to get a mattress. Along with a helper I set this bed up in 20 minutes…..20 dangon minutes. I would have needed at least 4 hours maybe more with my other bed since there were so many moving parts. It is a bit raised so I can slide tubs up under for storage. And even though I used to have a King I sleep better in the smaller space…not sure why? But this is so much easier its not a hassle for me to move, I don’t need to keep tools because of the Japanese functionality, and I am liking the wood since all i need to do is just wipe down or dust!

I was attracted to this type of bed frame since I live alone and wanted a frame that I can easily assemble and move myself. I'm petite so I don't need a sturdy frame and the other ones I saw were a lot more expensive and heavier than this bamboo frame. Since I got the twin size it doesn't have a middle support. Its just the four sides and legs plus the slats. Super simple which is what I wanted! It wasn't as easy as I thought it be because the legs don't perfectly fit so I had to swap them around until all four can fit. It is a bit difficult to assemble yourself since the legs don't stand on their own so it was a bit tricky to get them to fit through the joints since I can't slide them in at an angle like I would with frames that uses screws. The frame isn't too high that I could fit a lot stuff underneath. But since my mattress is 14" thick, the height of this frame doesn't bother me since I'm short. My foam mattress doesn't fully fill out the frame so there is a bit of a gap since my mattress corners is more rounded. Its not perfect but I love the minimalist look and how lightweight it is. I could move it up or down the stairs with ease!
