This thermometer works well and, more importantly, it has saved me from the battle royale that is trying to check my toddler’s temperature the old-school way. I’m really have this device in the house. I almost hesitated to buy this device because of the one star reviews I read. Thank goodness I decided to give it a try anyway. I think a lot of those bad reviews are from people that did not bother to read the little manual that came with it. There were a lot of mentions about erratic results. I’m guessing most of those people didn’t know you should not be carrying the device around in your hand for long periods of time (multiple minutes). In the booklet it explains that this devices sensor is very sensitive and the warmth from your hands can affect your results. Most of the time the effects will be small. But if you leave this device laying in the sun shine for a while or some how warm the device itself up. It can throw off the results. And they go on to explain why if you take multiple reading one right after the other why you will not get the same reading every time. But it will be so close as to be irrelevant. I’ve had a couple electronic oral thermometers that I hated. I have service connected hearing loss and couldn’t hear one of them that beeped, and it was slow. And the other used one of those dime sized batteries and it should have been set up to be belt fed. It went through batteries like crazy. So this device has been a refreshing experience. I’m a retired combat medic and ER RN. And the results from this device are accurate enough for the home. And you’ll love it if you have kids. All you have to do is slow them down long enough to get a clear look at their forehead and push the button. You see a green light for 1 to 2 seconds. And you get a result. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this device to anyone. Just take five minutes and sit down with the little booklet that comes with it. Then you’ll understand all you know.

The thermometer does what is advertised, take your temperature in around 1 second. What I found interesting in the instructions was how to calibrate the reading displayed. Wut?? First, for a device that is sold and described as “accurate” why would I even need to calibrate, and second, this implies that I already own a thermometer to be used as my “reference” for temperature accuracy. Just all seemed a bit odd to have to do so. Why buy a new thermometer if I need to compare to another and then adjust if off……..

Easy and simple to use, comes in handy when you’re feeling under the weather so you can keep an eye on your temperature. Useful when my grandson comes round. Also love the different colours of temperature levels.
