I have tried many washable rugs and I really like this one for the following reasons: It has a little more weight to it so it does not suck up into the vacuum cleaner. I've had a few actually break the belt on the vacuum. Meh. It looks nicer than other washable rugs and the edges don't roll up which is a trip hazard and annoying to look it. Also, if it gets peed on (I have small dogs so not that bad), I can soak it up with a paper towel mostly and it does not show (bc of the color of the jute) in the meantime between washings AND it does not smell at all because the natural scent of the jute disguises it. That is awesome. Also, even though It does not have a rubbery back, it stays just fine without a rug pad. Also, it hides dirt SO well because of the color and vacuums up super easily. The only disadvantage is that I seriously doubt this thing will fit in a regular home washing machine! There is no way. I got the 8 X 10. However, it will fit into a commercial washer not that I've tried that yet. Point being, this is the middle ground....it looks like a regular rug but one can take it to the laundry mat when it reaches that point. I have tried so many rugs with dogs over MANY years and this one is a dog lady FAVORITE!!!!

If you want a very flat rug- this one is great. Looks great. 4 stars because it will wrinkle easily if it gets folded over.

The description says it’s washable. This is what it looks like after the first time I washed it on delicate in cold water. Don’t waste your money if you want to be able to wash it.

I don’t use any skid pad with this rug. It’s under a dining table and the bordered fringes lay flat, no wrinkles and creates a nice rustic look. Easy to clean.

I absolutely love this rug. It's exactly what I was looking for. It is a bit thin, almost blanket like, but for this space I don't mind.

This item is not actually machine washable, as soon as you wash it it sheds fibers significantly and makes a mess. Also after washing it there is a strong chemical smell which also transferred to other items in the wash.

I've been trying to make my unfinished basement more inviting so I've been trying various area rugs to cover the cold, hard, cement floor. Pros: Big, covers a lot of space - note the picture doesn't show the whole width as it's slightly covered by a neighboring area rug. Nice neutral color, indoor/outdoor so should hold up to moisture if we have it, doesn't slide on the cement. Packaged very well for shipping! Cons: It's washable but I don't think it'd work in my machine (too big and heavy) I'd probably take it outside and hose it off.

This rug outgasses a very strong burnt rubber or petroleum smell. I had to remove it from our house because it gave me and my son headaches and caused a wheezing cough and sore throat. Washed it, and it's actually worse. I can even smell it outside.
