I'm used to Surefire flashlights. I've been using the Olight Arkfeld for a couple of months now. The size is perfect for everyday carry and fits comfortably in the pocket. It doesn't fall out or get in the way. The clip works good. The selection of lumen choices and brightness of each is excellent and very useful: Long press turns on the map light(lowest setting). This is good if you don't want to bring attention to yourself, ruin your night vision, or make your battery last forever. Single press turns on either low, medium, or high. All beams are flood light, and at about 8 foot away the width is about 5 ft wide. It's a very intuitive sized flood and easy to use. Low is nice for indoor use and close up outside with an excellent battery life. Medium is fairly bright and easily extends out 30 to 50 ft outside. High is bright enough to use as a search flood reaching out 100 ft or more. A double press turns on the highest setting. It's really bright and easily goes out 300 or more feet. I don't believe it stays on for long as it automatically dims back to protect the battery. A triple press turns on the Strobe which is extremely bright and would undoubtedly blind an attacker. However, pressing the button three times feels awkward, and I think it might be challenging to do under the stress of being attacked. I didn't buy the light for protection, so it's not an issue for me. A partial rotation of the dial surrounding the operational button changes the light to laser pointer mode. The laser is green and moderately bright. Very good for indoor presentations. Not bright enough for pointing at the stars, but will go out 300 to 500 ft with a reasonably tight beam. My only complaint here is with the dial itself which will often rotate on its own, while in my pocket, but it's not a big deal for me as it's easy to simply rotate the dial back. The magnet on the base is usually strong enough to secure the light to flat steel. It works reasonably well on a refrigerator for example, though uneven steel surfaces may interrupt the magnets attraction enough to keep the light from fastening properly. The magnet on the base also attaches the charging cord. This was a concern for me as I've had bad luck with this type of charging system in the past. Also the charging cord is sort of specialized and not available at just any store. This type of magnetic connection often fails with time as it doesn't really make a good enough connection to charge. However the magnet on this device is sufficiently strong enough so that this problem may not occur. Only time will tell. Highly recommended.

After breaking a few pen lights that died within a day, I tried this one out and don’t regret it a single bit, this thing is sick. I don’t have a single complaint with it at all. The charger is super strong, I can wave the light near it and it’ll snap together and not come off. I expected it to be decently bright but DAMN, the brightest setting lit up a whole room and did not drop a charge while trying it out which I expected. It got a tiny bit warm but nothing to worry about, it’s fair for how much light it’s putting out. Being able to lock it is super useful too so it won’t turn on in my pocket. The metal and build is super nice, very comfortable in hand. I can actually tell that the charger and light is made very well. Haven’t been able to test how waterproof it is (thankfully). I haven’t been able to use it outside of testing it yet but the magnet is going to be INSANELY useful work working on cars where I can just stick it on metal and have a super bright light aiming wherever needed. It sits in my pocket feeling like no more than a Milwaukee fastback. Yes, you need one, fantastic value for money.

I bought mine about six months ago, and I carry it every day. This light was one of the best purposes I've ever made. It's expensive, but it's built to last. The light is very robust, and easily clips inside your pocket. The charger is a bit annoying because it's unique (so if you lose it you're in trouble), but the light comes with a nice magnet on the back so the light will clip to metal surfaces and stay put. The light is extremely bright (you have to double click the button for the full brightness). The laser is kind of pointless for me, but is very bright and carries well. I've used this light for over 3 months at a time with charging it and not even had it drop a single bar on (limited use, but every day). This thing absolutely holds a charge and will not let you down. I highly recommend it if you can afford it. My only real complain is the switch from laser to light seems a bit flimsy (compared to everything else) and it tends to flip back and forth in your pocket, so you always have to check it when you use the light.
