Been running this OVERTURE black PLA through my Ender for a couple weeks now and honestly, it's been cruisin smooth. First off, it feeds like butter. No jams, no weird tangles, none of that headache mess that can pop up with cheaper filament. I just loaded it up and forgot about it. Which is kind of the dream right? The print quality is real decent too. Layers go down nice and even, like pancakes if you got a steady hand. I been making some functional stuff like tool holders and a couple decorative bits just to test it, and the surface finish came out clean. Not super glossy but not chalky either, just that nice in between look that doesn't scream “homemade” in a bad way. Color's solid too. It’s not that washed out gray black some spools give you. This one’s a true black, deep and consistent all the way through. Doesn’t fade out halfway through a print like I’ve had with other rolls. Definitely passes the eyeball test. Cardboard spool’s kinda whatever to me. Some folks get all excited about the eco friendly angle but I just care if it spins right and it does, so no complaints there. One tiny thing, it does like a little extra first layer squish. If you're used to fuss-free filaments, just keep that in mind. Once I dialed the z-offset in a touch lower, it stuck like a dream. Honestly, for a basic filament it punches above its weight. Great for everyday prints, prototypes, even some cosplay parts if you're painting after. If you're not trying to get all experimental with fancy materials and just want something reliable that won't drive you nuts, this is the one.

I’ve used several PLA brands over the years and OVERTURE continues to impress. This black PLA prints beautifully with great adhesion, smooth layers, and minimal stringing even on detailed prints. The dimensional accuracy is very consistent, and I haven’t had a single clog or jam in my Ender 3 or Prusa MK3S Plus. One thing I really appreciate is the cardboard spool. It’s sturdy, recyclable, and doesn’t warp like some plastic spools. The filament is also wound cleanly with no tangles from start to finish. Highly recommend this filament to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality PLA. Whether you are printing hobby models or functional parts, this filament delivers consistent and professional results.

This was my first experience with Overture and I grabbed it for the price. I'm impressed with it's performance though, it was really surprising. The color was deep and uniform, and there was no warping. My only real complaint is that my cardboard spool was all dinged so I had to fuss with it to make the AMS play nice. If you see it at a good price, I say pick it up. I typically use Sunlu just because it's easy to order and a decent price, but I'll buy this instead if the price is competitive.

I usually buy the same brand as my printer and just have had zero issues. I do NOT use an AMS. I have bought some other brands for some unique colors that have all worked great (some adhesion issues) despite being not 'bambu' branded. I thought, I have some shop things I want to print and can deal with some poor quality filament to save a few bucks. Overture was on sale lightning deal 25% less than the name brand stuff, so I bought 6 spools. Big mistake! Started off using the Bambu PLA profile and had a failed print, figured my fault I'll use the Overture profile, failed again. Then I went into calibration mode. Trying to dial in all the settings I need to get a good print. Now I have already spent 1 spool of the cheaper PLA on failed prints. Went back to bambu pla, worked perfect. Back to overture, heck maybe I got bad spool. Every dang problem you could think of with that roll, only got 1 or 2 usable parts out of it. The money I saved per roll is already lost, I used 3 rolls to get enough usable parts I would have gotten out of 1 name brand roll. It took me weeks to get that and would have taken me a couple days with name brand. Lastly the quality of the parts is passable but not as good. So there goes any money you'd save. If you put any value on your time then it's a complete loss. I am debating on what to do with the 3 spools I haven't used. I mean it's also putting unnecessary wear and tear on the printer. For example, when it over extrudes, the print head might bang into it. The only things I'd say this is good for is you wanted to try and hit all the problems you could have 3d printing quickly. You might have to go through 10 spools of good filament before having any issue. With this filament you can have 3 or 4 issues on the same spool! Awesome as a debugging tool. I started a job last night and after I started it the filament like bird nested unspooled and got tangled up and lost my part. Never seen that before. If you were teaching 3d printing and you wanted your students to be exposed to every possible issue they could have, this is good for that. I am very lazy, and won't write any reviews good or bad unless I feel it's my civic duty to pass this knowledge on to my fellow humans for the benefit of humanity.

The spool was well-packaged and vacuum-sealed with desiccant, so moisture wasn’t an issue out of the box. For the price and performance, I’d definitely recommend this filament, whether you’re printing parts, models, or prototypes.

On my 5th roll of OVERTURE black for home projects. I have found that 2 of the 5 rolls tended to print items that were either too soft for general use or too brittle. They either scratched and gave way under pressure or were so brittle they broke ver easily.
