My mom and grandmother had this silverware which is why I wanted jt. I knew it would be quality. It’s not cheap feeling at all. Personally, I don’t love the design, but it is good quality. It comes in a box and each silverware is wrapped individually as shown in image. The serving pieces that came with it really nice. Since we have had kids, our spoons have gone missing! We needed this set to help add to our missing collection! Great quality, and it came with a lot of pieces.

I rarely write reviews but I am so disappointed that I felt it was my obligation to let folks know about this product. I own 16 place settings of the Dover Pattern and love it. It is sturdy and has held up to over 30 years in the dishwasher. This Christmas I had a house full of guests for the week and was running the dishwasher twice a day to keep silverware in the drawer so I decided to invest in another 45 piece set of Dover. The issue is that Amazon is selling Dover Oneida Pattern Manufactured in Indonesia. The back of the silverware says Indonesia 5-214. Quality control is horrible. This plant can’t seem to stamp the pieces properly. You can see in the picture my 30 year old knife compared to the knife I received. In the old piece you can clearly see the flower imprint while in the new piece the flower print is barely stamped or is off center. I thought maybe it was just luck of the draw so I ordered it again and the second set was better than the first but still you could see the stamped design was off. Five stars because this is awesome silverware Minus 4 stars because the Indonesia plant clearly has a major issue with their manufacturing process. Surprised that Oneida is selling this as new. I am still on the fence as to keeping the second set I ordered. May try other sites to see if I can get a different manufacturing plant. I love Oneida’s 18/10 stainless steel because it has held up so well over time. I Just need initial quality pieces.

Have had a set of the Oneida Dover flat-wear for 30 or more years. Quite a few spoons and forks have gone missing since. Our originals are not the high gloss finish, so finding a correct matching set in the flat/satin finish hasn’t been all that easy when shopping local stores. But, this set is the real deal. Authentic Oneida Dover in the low gloss/satin finish. Yes, there are some very minor differences, which other reviews have pointed out making it sound unreasonable. But that’s to be expected given the changes in VOC compliance regulations, origins of material, location of manufacturing, and manufacturing process updates. Our original set was made in USA a few decades ago. This new set is made in Vietnam. The finish is practically the same and the design hasn’t changed. We are very pleased with this set and they mixed in seamlessly with our old. Thank you

I think this is the most beautiful, delicate set of flatware out there. Love it! Having said that, I returned it, but not because it was not stunning. I have a few extra-large, big-boned men in my life who needed a sturdy fork and knife, so I felt I needed to go with something else. What I have found in my search for the perfect flatware set is this: There are none -- at least not in my experience. So I went with the things that were most important to my needs, which were a nice, heavy fork and a wide knife for spreading butter and jams. I found them in a set made for Dillard's, the Charleston set. Problem is, I love a delicate teaspoon and soup spoon, so I'm going to order those separately when I find them.

Good shapes, weight, and balance. Forged rather than hand stamped is much better. Also good that it's 18/10 stainless. The pieces are not too large, but I prefer using the dessert fork rather than the dinner fork. I like that it's dishwasher safe, but note that it may not be safe to dry in the dishwasher. However, after several months of dishwasher washing and drying there are no rust spots and the flatware is glossy and shows no wear. Do not soak and be sure to load with the handles down. I'm looking forward to many years of use.

I wanted to replace the beautiful set I had in the 1980s so I ordered this Dover pattern again. The first set came and I didn't open it bc I could see the knife in the front was already dented. I ordered a second set, opened to check all the pieces. I agree with other reviews. My old set came with Oneida stainless discretely printed in the back of the handles. The new set has a huge O on back of the "eating" area, and on the back of each handles says Indonesia, Oneida 18/10 and it makes it look tacky. Some pieces had dark stuff on them, some had imperfections like little dots, some of the patterns on front seemed cheaply printed. If you order 2 sets you can mix and match to send back the bad and keep the good. But I'm still debating whether to return it all, simply bc it doesn't compare with the quality of old. For those who care about the weight, it feels heavier than my old set. Since I haven't used or washed them yet, I can't speak to that, but if I can't put them in the dishwasher and dry cycle, I might as well use my sterling. So we'll see.
