I really like this gallon-sized cold brew coffee maker! It's about the size of a large almond milk container, so it doesn’t take up too much space in the fridge, making it super convenient. I used about 1.75 cups of regular drip coffee and let it sit for 24 hours, and it produced the perfect concentration and flavor. The fine filter holds the grounds well, though a coarser grind might be better to avoid a little sediment, but even with drip-style, most of it settles below the spout, so it doesn’t end up in your glass. The spigot is sturdy and doesn’t drip, and the airtight lid keeps your brew fresh for longer. Plus, it comes with a handy cleaning brush! All in all, seems to be a good all-arounder. I’m pretty impressed, and would definitely recommend it!

After trying multiple methods over the years (bags, separate filters, etc, etc), I finally found the Original Grind Coffee cold brew maker last September. Previously, it took me so much time to make cold brew, filter out sludge, transfer to clean jar, and clean up all the mess. Now the process is so simple! Grind beans, add water, and just wait. The gallon jar is durable and made of borosilicate glass. The filter is wonderful and I never get sludge in my cup. The lid is sturdy and airtight; in fact, I have to loosen it for the spigot to work. The spigot works great and does not leak - you may need to hand tighten if you experience leaks. My cold brew tastes great and keeps fresh to the last cup. Cleanup is easy, just flip the filter upside down in a bowl. Once it dries a bit, the coffee grinds release with a little thump to the bottom of the filter. Give it a rinse in the sink and it’s ready for the next batch. I highly recommend!

The size of the container is great for cold brew. I no longer have to make small batches every other day now. Easy to clean and fits in the fridge and sits on the edge of the shelve so I can fill my cup from there. And then microwave if needed. Price is good. It’s not heavy either and I like the filter so easy to fill and clean. I use bottled low ph8.5

Nice big cold coffee brewer. The filter is really nice, and none of my grounds made it through. The first morning I went to get coffee out of it I had a total brain fart, and I forgot to loosen the lid. It has such a good seal that you can open the valve and nothing comes out. That's actually a good thing, unless you're IQ is significantly lower in the morning like me 😂 I contacted them Via Facebook Messenger and they were with me within a half hour. I felt dumb, but also grateful there customer service is that good. Ordered a second one so I can start brewing a second batch when the first is almost out. Don't buy a knockoff, get the real deal, and actually have a company that backs their product with good customer service.

Cold brewed coffee, in case you have not had it, is much more enjoyable to most people than hot coffee. It is not bitter or acidic, so if you like your coffee black, Cold Brew is the very best way to make it! I use a fairly coarse grind like I would use in my french press, and I basically fill the micro perf screen basket with grounds, fill the jar with bottled water and throw it in the fridge for 24-36 hours, then remove the basket and top with more bottled water. This part is not necessary if you want to keep it at maximum strength. Personally I heat it up in the microwave and use stevia & whole milk sometimes, but if you drink it at refrigerator temperature, like I do sometimes, it needs nothing to be neutralize the absent acidity or bitterness to make it palatable. The valve moves smoothly and effortlessly. The only slight complaint is that the spigot will drip one drop after closing the valve sometimes so I put a paper towel in the drip landing zone. **Long usage update** So a few years of constant usage have passed, and I have to confess that messed it up by trying a new process. I have been heating a kettle of water for a first pour over the dry grounds, then rinse the grounds with cold water to fill the jug.. which improves the extraction of caffeine (with nearly zero change to the flavor of the finished product) but the hot water made the jar crack. I heard it happen two batches ago but did not notice the crack radiating from the spigot hole until yesterday when I was washing the jug for a new batch. It is worth pointing out that the crack did not cause a total failure of the jar (messy and/or dangerous), it only ran about 2 inches and stopped. Grateful for that. Definitely disappointed, but i do not blame the jug or seller for this, its my own fault. Just ordered a new one.

So far it works pretty well for me. Still trying to dial in a good coffee to water. I will say if you are doing a pound to gallon ratio you are going to spend forever trying to pour your water over the grounds, it makes me wish the filter was wider and more shallow. For those complaining about the spigot not pouring even after cleaning, if you have the lid on you are almost certainly pulling a vacuum, try loosening the lid to relieve the vacuum and then using the spigot.

Accidentally broke my original “original grind” cold brew maker. I like the upgraded lid over the original lid. Can make cold brew for the whole week which is nice.
