Printer comes well packaged, with foam inserts. The app needed to operate this device is straight forward and user friendly. Since the printer comes pre-charged, it is ready to use right out of the box. As for portability, it will definitely fit in a small/medium bag or backpack. The (super soft) drawstring pouch will keep debris from reaching the inner mechanisms, in storage or on the go. Clarity and sharpness of lines, words, and images are comparable to those rendered by a regular printer. And the time it takes to print is about the same. However, the thermal paper is thinner and glossier than standard, can only be printed on on one side, and the other has a faint "This side should face up" pre-printed near the top (as well as a small, grey square in the upper corner). Despite only 10 pages being included, the cost of more thermal paper is offset by no longer needing to buy ink. I went ahead and tried two different types of markers on the paper, just to see how they interacted to the material. Due to the color change with one, and the streaky effect with the other, I would not recommend using this printer for coloring pages.

Click to play video This is not a printer for every day printing needs - this thermal printer was created for a user (most likely a business traveler) that doesn't always have access to a printer when they need it. With that being said, the printer was super easy to set up and use. The printer came pre-charged, so I simply took it out of the box, scanned the QR code on the top for printer setup, installed the Phomemo app, and a few minutes later I was printing from my phone with ease. It really was simple as it works seamlessly with a Bluetooth connection. The printer requires thermal paper, which you have to order separately. It comes with several sheets to test out, however, I recommend ordering thermal paper at the time you order the printer. Like I said earlier, thermal printing is not for every day use, but this printer certainly serves its purpose for on demand situations. It's light, easy to connect, quick, and produces good quality text and images.

It prints really well and is forgiving with some grey shades. App is decent. It doesn't really show you what size things will be on the free print thermal part of the app, so I use cheap paper to test before using the transfer paper. It's funky to load the transfer paper, from the back with the top loose. It doesn't open, just gets loose and too far no good just open not good, balance that thing or get wrinkled. And it will run slightly weird causing wrinkles on the far side unless you have an eagle eye and hands of a brain surgeon. Downside is this doesn't hurt the stencil if you have a quarter inch boarder and you will have reckless confidence ending up with tons of bad tats like me

Update!!! Changed my review to 1 star! Of there was an option to out zero stars I would. I have had this printer since February, since I got it below you will see I have had charging issues now it does not connect to the app at all! The support team is worthless the back and forth that I have had to deal with is ridiculous. Did not get a response for 6 days. When I originally called them they said I had a 1 year warranty and now they are saying that the printer is part of their clearance and they have no more product to send a replacement!!! Hogwash I say!! I like the way this prints , but it does not charge or hold a charge I have had it charging for 2 days and the battery says 32% and as soon as I unplug it it says 5% and will shut down. I am past my return date. It is not worth the money..

It is a thermal printer, so paper can be a little more expensive than traditional paper, but worth it for the flexibility of portable printing. I use it to print templates for my wood burning designs, but directions say it can also be used as a printer for tattoo paper. Love the compact size and easy setup.

I would recommend this printer to anyone. It's extremely portable so you can use it in your vehicle, or office, or take it with you to appointments. This printer takes Thermal Paper so you never have to worry about ink. The case is an add-on that I would highly recommend buying as well. It makes it easier to keep everything together. I've had it for about a month now and I still haven't charged it. It's still charged by the manufacturer. Virtually no maintenance. Just download the app and follow the easy step-by-step instructions to get your project printed. I would like to mention that it prints all documents or pictures only in black and white. That may be an issue for some people however, It didn't pose a problem for me.

So the "ink" on this printer is very light so if that is something that will bother you greatly, avoid this printer. if your computer takes USB-C, avoid this printer, as the USB-UBC adapter commonly causes "USB Accessories Disabled" errors in Macbooks. Perhaps if you have a windows computer you won't have this issue. Finally, if you care about the quality of the actual paper (not being torn, printing evenly/straight) avoid this printer as there isn't a way to guarantee you didn't accidentally fill the paper slightly off center, causing it to cut, or crumble. If you want to use bluetooth from your laptop, avoid this printer. It only connects via Bluetooth from a cellular device. If all of the above scenarios are not at all a big deal to you, then you can purchase this printer. It does what it needs to do.

This Phomemo Portable Wireless Printer is very nicely built, compact and not too heavy and fits right in my backpack ready to travel. I can be anywhere in the world, or even on a plane as it is portable. It is one that I use occasionally as this is a useful and practical as it does not need to be powered to a wall socket. It is powered by USB-C cable (provided) which makes it very convenient as this is a standard cable that I use all the time. The advantage of this printer is that it does not use ink, therefore there is none to buy and this compensates for the thermal paper. It uses a standard paper size of 8 1/2 x 11” which is nice. I like how the Phomemo app is easy to download and install on my iPhone and printing via the app is relatively easy but the app is basic and lacks user friendly interface. The printing quality is more than acceptable. Letter printing comes out clear enough, pictures are not so crisp but nevertheless acceptable. Needless to say that they are black on white. The printer comes with 10 sheets of thermal paper which is nice, to enable first try before buying more paper. Instructions are clear but I really didn’t have to go through to install as everything is very intuitive. Totally recommend for small jobs, or on the run outside the office, but this is not going to replace my office jet printer.

The printer itself looks and feels like high quality. The clarity of the prints are noticeably not on par with regular printers. It is a bit pixelated, but is still easily legible. I wouldn't use this for important documents but rather for things you want to keep as reference for yourself (i.e. receipts, bills, invoices). I do not like that there is a "this side is not printing side." line one the side of the printing paper. Definitely could have been more discreet with that. Could use a smaller symbol at the corner of a page or moved that line to the bottom and made the opacity much lighter. The reason I bought this printer was because of the simplicity of it. I didn't want to worry about ink drying out from infrequent use. Nor did I want to spend the extra money on a laser printer since I wasn't going to be printing many items. This little printer is definitely a space saver for me and is convenient so win win!

This is our second portable printer of the sort, we like these products as we are always on the go and our type of business requires quick and easy printing to provide customers with quotes, and estimates. A big item i like with this printer over some of the others we have seen out there, is its comes with a hardshell carrying case, that easily stores the printer, its cables as well as a number of thermal paper so everything is handy and accessible when needed. As mentioned, this product uses thermal paper for printing, it is more expensive than regular paper but i would imagine you are not using this printer to print large documents so its good for single sheet printing. The quality is not, and will never be the same as a regular ink printer which is to be as expected, but overall the printing quality is pretty good for text documents. I would not print paper that has a number of different colors, or even photos as i dont imagine they would come out very good. The app to use is quick to download and pretty easy to set up and use. From my iphone, you can send documents and PDF directly from the open file to the printing app and print right away in the span of about 1 minute.
