We watched a special on BBQ by a famous dude out of Austin. He wrapped his brisket in this kind of paper so we thought we'd try it. Man, it took our BBQ to the next level. It is so much better than a foil wrap. The paper is thick enough that it's super durable and doesn't tear at all. But just by design, the paper is porous so the liquid soaks into the paper just enough that you're not boiling the meat, but it keeps the steam in to soften it up. It's fantastic. The paper comes on a roll and came in a width sufficient for us to wrap a decent size brisket. It's great that it's on a roll - you can just literally roll it out on the table and wrap your meat up in it - it was super easy. I priced this kind of product at a specialty BBQ store and it was a lot more expensive. This had a decent price in my opinion.

The Pink Butcher Paper for Smoking Meat 17.5 in is a thinner paper than if purchased from a local butcher shop. other than that, it was okay for what I needed it for, double wrapping a small piece of meat in the smoker.

First time making a Texas Style Brisket and it worked exceptionally well! The paper performed very well and the brisket was like warm butter. Don’t be afraid to use two or three layers to wrap your brisket after smoking to 165 F.

From a lobalws butcher of 5+ years. Description is pretty accurate though I'm not exactly sure it is certified food grade IMO. Compared to a certified food grade local butcher supply it's almost like a thin construction or parchment paper. But it's not waxed, isn't died (soak in water to test) and doesn't appear to be bleached (since it's not died) so it will work as intended. Doesn't rip easily so thickness doesn't matter. Don't ever reuse this product for food no matter what the listing says. But it's over priced compared in the smaller formats and barely matches local suppliers in the large rolls for price compared to certified butchers paper. If you don't have the local option (local butchers can and do sell it too though probably with their own markup) or you are in a pinch this stuff will 100% work but it's vague and concerning description (able to reuse?) makes me question it probably more then it deserves.
