These appear to be of the highest quality, and have a shelf life of two and half years, so now I'm good for that long.

If you go to the US government's Nuclear Regulatory Commission's website, you can find out more about potassium iodide than you ever wanted to know. One thing to keep top of mind is that potassium iodide will not "save you" in the event of a nuclear attack or zombie apocalypse. It is not a cure-all for exposure to radiation from any source. There are also some doubts as to whether it's healthy to take on a daily basis to protect your thyroid. In fact, if you are over a certain age, it may not work at all. All that said, if you are into emergency preparedness, it won't hurt to have a bottle or two of this in your first aid kit or backpack.

These N1N Premium Potassium Iodide [130mg, 150 Tablets] are something I hope I will never need to take. Potassium iodide will flood your thyroid with this good product if you are exposed to radiation. I don't have a thyroid, so I hope it works for me equally well!!! We are semi-preppers so this bottle of 150 tablets is going in our first aid box to take in case of a nuclear war. I used to think that would never happen, but I'm not so sure now. With 150 tablets, they should last my adult son and me 37.5 days as the dose is two per day. Hopefully, that will be enough time. Of course, we haven't taken any at this writing, but they are tested in a third-party lab for purity, potency, and safety. I will trust them!! Everyone should have these in their homes or bug-out bags. I do recommend them!

It is very important to note the label instructions that this is only for OCCASIONAL use to supplement iodine. I use pink salt, which is non-iodized, and so I feel the need to add in iodine once in a while. I have used liquid Lugols iodine but it is inconvenient to take and so I forget to do it. A capsule is much more convenient, but again, I take one a week. Thankfully the product is very stable and will last open for an along time. This is according to information provided by the manufacturer. I like this for convenience and that I can easily supplement with this critical nutrient. Too little is bad. Too much is bad. Take note.

It's the right color, odor (odorless) and dosage. I also looked up some simple ways to test KI to make sure it has what it says. If I ever have an actual need to take this stuff, I want to know it's real and not just sawdust. Tested with hydrogen peroxide and it reacted, quickly turning brown. So best I can tell, this is legit KI.
