A new country artist to me BUT I love the CD ( and the accompanying instrumentalists are TOP TIER!).

Love Childers

I own all Tyler Childers' CDs. I discovered him a few years ago, and he does not disappoint. And, here I was (yes, I'm older), thinking that all the great country/folk musicians had passed away. Not the case. Tyler Childers is at the vanguard of superb Americana music.
I admit I like his acoustical singer/songwriter music the best and this one is fully produced with a band, which in my mind overwhelms Tyler the singer at times. With that said, I agree with one reviewer who said what we need now is a live album. On YouTube I discovered several cover songs; among them are: The Old Country Church; Take My Hounds to Heaven; and Help Me Make It through the Night. What great versions and his voice is in full strength. So, I continue to do online searches of Tyler's latest music. I don't want to miss his next CD and, one hopes, a live CD capturing him in all his greatness.

Buy this album. You will not be disappointed.
I bought it on the strength of two songs, Lady May and Born Again that were featured on season three of Yellowstone. I bought the cd, got a free digital copy available instantly, downloaded it to my Fire and Ipod, and sat back and enjoyed a rare treat, an album that is great from start to finish. Not a bad song on there.
Whitehouse Road rocks like old-style southern country-rock, Lady May will make you cry for joy every time you hear it, Born Again is lyrically sublime, and I Swear to God is pure delight. But really, every song is so good you never want Purgatory to end even if heaven is on the other side.

I'm generally late to the party, and a friend introduced me to "Feathered Indians" via YouTube a month ago. After about 50 plays, I thought I should buy the whole album. Goodness. It's gorgeous. It's one I play all the way through when I'm driving around for pleasure or for doing errands. The songwriting is the best of what poetry is-- just the right word in the just the right place. It's thoughtful and tender. And it's evocative. And sometimes it's just a party. Purgatory is a good time, and who doesn't need more of that?

Great record, not easy to come by in the Netherlands. Delivery was very quick as well. Unfortunately the cover was a little damaged on the edges.
