I have a variety of Reolink cameras that I use with a Blue Iris NVR setup, and this Duo is a great addition. My neighbor had some people vandalize the side of his house and I unfortunately didn't have a camera that captured anything but their feet. He's since purchased his own setup, but I also wanted to improve my own visibility without using multiple cameras. The vandal-proofing of the camera makes installation take a few minutes longer, but overall it's pretty simple. Before you start drilling holes, if you have a log cat5 cable I would plug the camera in and figure out placement by hastily running the cable out a window/door to your switch. I would have preferred to install this about a foot and a half from the ceiling on the wall instead of overhead because there is distortion in the image, but I was reusing the hole from my previous camera install. Regardless whether you install on the wall or ceiling, you want it away from the corner to maximize the amount of 'usable' video - e.g. compare how close my install is to the edge of the soffit and how much soffit/wall is visible in the video. You can use a T10 bit to remove the outer cover instead of the tiny included allen wrench. The included anchors would be fine for drywall, but I used toggle bolts I had on hand. For an install in soffit like I did, a step bit is your best friend. Use the template included, drill your pilot holes and follow up with the step bit at slow speed to avoid tearing the soffit apart too much. Before screwing anything down, run your cable and ideally use a rubber grommet in your center hole to keep the cable from getting cut up in the event you need to remove the camera. With the dome off, you can rotate the camera, it has stops to prevent you from rotating it so much you start tearing cables but be gentle. There is a triangle on the actual camera body that should be pointing up. The Duo cameras do not have a hardware setting to flip the video vertically, so you would need to do this in your app/NVR. Use the live video in the app to make sure everything is lined up with how you're going to screw it in, and once you're happy then secure it down, followed by attaching the dome and removing the plastic. The camera ships with HTTPS ports disabled, so you'll need to actually use the Reolink app to set the camera up. I enable HTTPS to manage the camera (all my cameras are on their own subnet & vlan without internet access), and both RTSP and ONVIF. Then it's just a matter of adding the camera in Blue Iris by IP, clicking Find/inspect and both the main and sub streams get picked up without issue. As with the Duo Floodlight, the video from both cameras shows as a single video which is exactly what I want. Under image format I used Anamorphic 5120 x 1552 (the native resolution) and configured the rest of my settings as I do with the other cameras for hardware decoding, object recognition, etc. The camera is not perfect, but exceeds my expectations and is pretty close to it as far as I'm concerned. As mentioned there will be distortion that may be more or less exaggerated than what my screenshot shows based on install height and distance to whatever it is you're looking at. For reference, notice how the edge where my neighbors house meets the grass is a noticeably arched line. This is because most lenses from the 35mm in my DSLR to this camera have distortion. Certainly not a deal breaker, but again it should influence how you position the camera to get the best picture of whatever you're trying to monitor. I also found the default auto setting for brightness/shadow had the grass on the left side of my screenshot completely blown out and I had to drop the brightness slightly and increase the shadows. I'll need to check and recheck this throughout the day or just accept the center 70% of my video is what really matters and I probably should mount another camera 20' further down that captures that side of the back yard.

So glad I bought a few of these cameras they have a great field of view and a very sharp image. I’ve been waiting for a dome camera that had such a wide field of view for quite some time and they’re finally here. Very easy to adjust them once they’re mounted by simply removing the dome you were able to twist the camera 360° and do fine adjustments as well easy to set up and the image looks great. This is my third of this style camera from Reolink.

Amazing deal for the picture quality, as long as it last.

This camera is a very interesting design. It can capture more of an area without putting up separate cameras than any other camera I've seen. The field of view is super wide, so in smaller spaces you can see both walls and the floor stitched together. The quality of the video is also top notch, making it easiy to see details on people, vehicles, pets, and more. It supports ONVIF and RTSP, so I used it with the Frigate NVR with no problems. Although it outputs the video to some odd sizes (due to smashing two camera outputs together) I was able to get Frigate to understand and capture the output of this camera without too much issue. It also has a useful local web interface so you can setup and change some features via a browser, so you don't have to register another app or account just to use it. I didn't see any way to get a standard sized video output from this camera, so you should be prepared to find an NVR or software that can handle the super-wide resolution it puts out. You can switch between h.265 and h.264 if you have less powerful editing or capture hardware, so that does help a little bit with converting its output to something that fits on a screen.

0 Awesome views. The sound playback, not so much! The wide angle view is incredible. The sound playback on my unit did not work at all. Having a technical background, I did everything I could to get the audio playback to work and nada! So, I'll place the camera in a location that I don't need to hear sound.

I got this 8MP (4MP per cam) for the back yard, pool and porch area, and happy with the wide area coverage. The two cameras work great stitched together. Zooming in on my phone also works great. Just ordered a 16MP version for my driveway hoping for a little better ability to see license plates.

Click to play video The Duo 2V PoE Vandal-Proof camera from Reolink is another winner in a long line-up of quality cameras from the company. I have had several cameras in the side yard location of my house and always seems to have some sort of compromise to make. I started with a regular IP bullet cam. It was fine for covering the walkway from the front yard, but wouldn't be able to record anyone who went through the gate. A subsequent PTZ camera would fail to follow a person that walked below it. Eventually, I purchased the Duo 3 camera from Reolink because it had 180° field of view (FOV). From an optical perspective, it did the job. However, I didn't like the bullet-style form factor of the camera as it was really obtrusive when placed on the fence post (see photo). Enter the Duo 2V vandal-proof dual-lens dome camera. It has the same field-of-view as the Duo 3 bullet camera without the ugly look. I was afraid the glass dome would cause internal reflection issues under certain lighting conditions, however, I haven't found that to be the case. I've attached photos from various times of day that show lighting, including harsh sunlight right on the camera dome. I don't have any problems seeing things day or night, in colour or black and white. The only time I had a slight issue was when the spotlights came on at night at full brightness. However, that's only because of my required placement so close to the top of the fence. The light would reflect off the top beam of the fence and cause issues. A tweak to the spotlight brightness and exposure fixed the problem. Under an eave where most people will mount this will not have this sort of issue. Likes: - Seriously good build quality. Sturdy metal base and glass dome with good rubber seals to keep moisture out. - Great field of view with excellent image quality! This camera is mounted 3' 6" from my house at the top of my fence and it covers from the road to the back fence of my back yard without a problem! Dynamic range is good under most lighting conditions. - Really good sound quality from the speaker and microphone for two-way communication through the camera. - Works great with the Reolink app directly, or through their NVR. It can also connect through an FTP to other brands of NAS. - Pricing is excellent for the performance and features of this camera. - PoE powered makes for easy, one-wire connectivity. - Great camera position adjustability to align the image properly. Dislikes: - None found. I've heard of needing to wipe the dome under inclement weather. So far, I have had any need to do so. Perhaps over time, but so far it's been good. Overall, this is a fantastic camera for anyone who wants wide coverage in a durable, tamper-free design. I have confidence that it would stand up to anyone trying to damage it. It performs very well for my needs and I would highly recommend this, or any Reolink cameras to anyone looking to beef up their home security. Highly recommended!

The Reolink 2V Duo works really well for me. I have installed it under the eave and able to monitor the whole front yard with its 180 degree horizontal view angle. Easy to install and have continuous recording on a micro SD card. If you have a large area to cover this camera may not suit you as the vertical view is limited to 57 degrees.

I've found that Reolink makes excellent security cameras that work better and have better picture clarity than others I've owned. The following are the features I like about this camera: - 180 degree view made possible via a dual camera makes it so there is no need to move the camera once installed - the Reolink app works well - night vision as well as color when the spotlights are on - two way talking with onboard speaker and microphone - accepts up to a 256GB microSD card for recording and playback - has alerting and detection for motion, people, animals and vehicles - can be powered by DC 12V or POE Cons: - the camera position can be set manually and that's it. For most applications, a 180 degree view is more than sufficient - no WiFi connection, requires a network cable to be connected to your router This is a very sturdy, high quality 180 degree stationary security camera requiring a hardwire link to your router. Definitely a good product worth considering.

I've used a number of different Reolink cameras and tied them into various NVRs with no hassles. This particular camera is NOT useable with anything other than a Reolink NVR. Nowhere in the description does it mention this fact. Using the phone and Windows app allows connectivity and control over the camera. Both automatically discovered and connected; there was no mucking about with knowing the IP or port. The phone app only allows connectivity to the camera while on the same network. There is no way to connect remotely using cellular data. I spent a lot of time looking through the Reolink support information to find what ports needed to be forwarded to my router to allow this access, but there was a lot of mixed-up info, and I was not able to connect remotely using any of the suggested options. To me, this is an indication that the company wants people to buy their NVR, which then allows for remote browser access. 👀 👀 👀 That said... Oddly and suddenly, when I was doing a long shot test, I was able to connect back to the camera via the phone's cellular data! The only way this is possible is that the camera connects back to the Reolink service via a DDNS service which I do not want to have, but there is no way to turn this off. ► The Windows app does allow for connecting to multiple cameras and even works as a DVR. The problem, of course, is that a computer needs to be dedicated to operating as a DVR. The Windows app is not available through the Microsoft Windows Store for some reason. It has to be downloaded from the company's website. ○ The only option to this is to succumb to buying a Reolink NVR. I'd like to know why Reolink took this position and limited who will buy their products. ✘ The camera does not allow direct browser connectivity like other cameras. ► With the two camera streams blended, it does produce true 180° video. ► While the Windows app can operate as a DVR, the phone app can also be used to record video on the phone. ► As with most brand-name cameras, there are a number of configuration options. ► The cover used to protect the TF card slot and reset button uses a nice, clean silicone seal. ► I find that audio coming from the built-in speaker is about as good as it can get from such a small speaker. ► As with most PoE cameras, there is also a 12v external power supply connection. In testing, I was able to power up the camera with a 3 amp adapter, and even with the IR LEDs running overnight, the adapter only got warm. ► AI for sensing what's being detected is good and offers a number of options for customization, but is still a work in progress. ► Firmware updates. In the camera setup, I can keep the default setting where the camera connects to the company servers during nighttime hours to download and update automatically. Or I can do it manually. The video produced is great. The definition is excellent, like any 8K camera. ► The AI does a very good job of stitching the two camera lenses into one stream. The app allows for customizing how the two streams are blended - Image Stitching. ► In the app, I can change the resolution (mainstream) from the default 5120x1552 to 4096x1248. The second stream can also be customized. The camera itself is well made, but there is nothing exceptional. I would like to see a better option for mounting. As it is, the bracket needs to be fastened and oriented so that when the camera is mounted on it the Ethernet cable is pointed in the right direction. The lenses, like all similar dome cameras, allow for 360-degree horizontal rotation. It also allows for a high degree of orientation vertically. ► There is a silicone seal that runs around the mount to keep moisture out, and inside the dome are two desiccant bags. If it wasn't for the fact that the camera produces excellent video and the 180° video, I would give it no more than three stars because of its lack of connectivity to non-Reolink NVRs. Plus, the website makes it hard to find information on some advanced connectivity I would give it only three stars. So, all that said, four stars strictly because of the video and AI features. Then there is the whole thing with the phone app being able to connect to the camera via some Reolink DDNS system that is not mentioned in their documentation

I've been using Reolink security cameras for years, they are my recommended and preferred choice for DIY Security Cameras. They are professional quality, well made, have an excellent app and many Pro Features at a fraction of the cost of Pro Gear. This new Rolink 4K 8MP camera has 2 cameras inside one dome housing. Despite having two 4K camera lenses inside this camera is nearly the same size as a single lens camera. The dual lenses are fixed to provide 180º view, they cannot be adjusted or pointed in opposite directions. The panoramic view looks great, the imaging and resolution is 4K with no distortion. This is a hardwired PoE camera. It requires 1 Cat5/6 cable and either a PoE switch or PoE injector if you wish to power it up over Cat5/6. There is a secondary 12V port so you can power this camera using a separate power supply if you don't want to use PoE, however you will still require the hardwired ethernet cable so a PoE swtich or Injector just makes things simpler and provides for a clean 1 cable installation. Note You will need to provie your own PoE switch or power supply. The housing on this camera is tear drop shaped and there is a pigtail with the camera connections. Normal installation is to drill a hole and fish the camera wiring pigtail into the hole. If you need to surface mount this camera and use a junction box, the camera housing is teardrop shaped so you will need to use a generic square junction box. Reolink may make a custom sized junction box for surface mounting this camera but I haven't been able to source it out ... so square junction box would be the option for now. This camera supports Reolink NVRs and onboard storage up to 256GB with Micro SD Card. It has an F1.6 lens for good low light performance and IR illuminators for night time imaging. It will support advanced analytics including person, vehicle and animal detection. One surprising feature on this camera is the inclusion of two-way audio. The Reolink app is easy to use and camera set up and configuration is straightforward. Chrome, Firefox and Safari web browsers are supported. As mentioned this camera supports local storage via SD Card or NVR and can be hooked up to Reolinks cloud storage which is as low as $3.49 USD (about $7 CDN) for up to 5 cameras. As a systems integrator I have been helping customers install their Reolink cameras for years. Their build quality and reliability continues to impress. This new Reolink dual lens camera is perfect for anyone who needs an ultra wide angle security camera. Most single lens cameas will cover upto 120º this dual lens Reolink does a full 180º. The build quality and performance is excelent. I would recommend this camera along with most Reolink products.
