I’ve been using the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam for a few weeks now, and I’m seriously impressed with its performance. The video quality is top-notch — the front camera records in stunning 4K, and the rear camera delivers crisp Full HD footage. The STARVIS 2 sensor really shines, especially in low-light conditions, giving clear and detailed night recordings. Setup was a breeze, and I love that it comes with a FREE 128GB card — no need to buy one separately! The 5G WiFi is a game changer. I was able to transfer videos to my phone in seconds using the app, which is super convenient.

Great camera with a clear picture. Easy to install. Only issue I had was where to tuck the extra power cord from the back camera to the front; I had 3 feet extra. Camera works great and thankfully no accidents but it did give me peace of mind traveling in congested areas prone to accidents. Great price also.

I will preface this review by first stating that I just received this dash-cam and have not put it through long term use and testing. This review is based largely on features and ease of setup and use. Overall, the dash cam provided the features, flexibility and affordability (at sale price) I was looking for with a high definition 4k video, ease of use for setup, configuration and on-the-go activation and recording. The kit and packaging are well thought out and very professionally done. Although, there was very good documentation and a full small print manual provided, it would have been nice if they had a quick setup card that provided the following steps: 1) Mounting. Kit contains several options from mounting: a suction cup style window mount and a 3M adhesive strip mounting bracket that can be used for dash mounting. The suction cup has a rotational clamping mechanism that tightens the suction and works very well, much better than others I have seen in past years. Make sure you clean the windshield first in the mounting area with the cleaning towlets provided. 2) Initial setup is relatively easy. Plug it into the USB lighter adapter and the camera powers up. Step it through the questions on the dashcam display, all my responses were just to confirm OK, and it is ready to go, starts recording right away. 3) Smart Phone App. Go to the Play Store and search for "Rove" and download the Rove Dashcam app. QR scan codes are provided in the manual that will take you directly to the Play Store download. For android, the link is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rovedashcam.android 4) Connect Smart Phone. Turn on the wifi button on the dashcam (physical button at bottom, center with orange triangular symbol). Turn on wifi on your smart phone. Scan and connect to the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam that shows up. Use the password that is displayed on the dashcam display. The display is pretty small so you may need something to magnify to read or reference the manual page 29 - link provided below. 5) Configure smart phone app. Step through the questions, they are pretty straight forward. When I did the setup, the dash cam found the correct time and date automatically. You can check by going to the Settings -> System -> Date/Time on your the Rove smart phone app, after setup is completed to ensure the correct date and time are set and make adjustments if needed. 6) Customizing Settings: The default settings were pretty much on target. There are customizable options for the following that I saw people asked some questions about: A) Audio Recording - On/Off B) Duration of Video Loop Recording Segments - 1, 3, 5, 10 minute video clip lengths; smaller clips make it easier to find events in your video C) Video Resolution - Font/Main Camera: 4K, 2K, 1K HD; Rear Camera: 1K HD only D) Video Stamping with time, position, speed info If you have questions about additional features, download the manual, search and review to find settings you are interested. The manual is well done and pretty complete. This is a decent camera. Provides front and rear camera. Bought two on sale instead of the one I really wanted. Installation was quick and easy. Based on reviews, the only downside is when capturing images driving into the sun. I'm ages are washed out.

This review probably a little longer than I usually write. To start, I've had another dashcam hardwired in my car for 9 years (from BlackVue) and over the last few years their app has gone from being bad to outright nagging me to pay for premium cloud storage, so when it the front camera finally pooped (the video went all rainbow), so I decided I needed to replace it. A couple years ago in 2019 I was renting cars every other week on work trips, so I picked up a Rove R2 to use on rental cars and it was a good experience with it. This week I was looking at Amazon and I saw the Rove R2 Dual now had a two-camera version that was cheaper than the single camera I bought before! This camera I have to say from first impression is the front camera is better than the original R2 I have. The screen seems better, and the video is better too. I read elsewhere the sensor isn't actually 4K, so I'm using it as 2.5K front instead. For the memory card I'm using a 256GB SanDisk Max Endurance, which is built for dashcam use, that I bought and had been using for the last 3 years. I picked up the polarizer filter which is screw on option (instead of friction fitted like on many other dashcams), and it improved the daytime video removing all problems with glare from the dashboard. The rear camera quality unfortunately isn't as good as I would like but considering the value proposition of this camera compared the nearly 5X I paid for the BlackVue originally I can't complain. Yes, quality rear video is nice to have, but every instance I've needed the rear video I had to paired it with the front video to show it wasn't my fault. Usual issue is someone will accuse you or running the stop sign, failing to yield, backing up into them, etc. which you need the front video anyways. The rear video would then show they didn't stop, yield, signal, etc.; that's really the benefit of the rear camera for me. Installation, I installed this with the hardwire kit which I bought separately and will review separately, but the combo is excellent. I do like it came with a basic car trim pry too, which came in handy running the power and the rear camera wires. The included kit options of both suction cup and a permanent mount (I used the latter) is nice touch for me. In fact this lets me use the dash cam if I was driving a friend's car or a rental car (if I didn't already have the older R2 for this). Some negatives is mostly with the app and UI. I had a lot of good experiences with the app before, and it's still very good. I don't like that I'm now forced to create and sign into an account to use it. Seem unnecessary. Also I would like an option to disable the WiFi password from showing on the screen for the camera. My phone will remember the password, there's no reason it needs to show it for potentially to other folks in the vehicle. Overall I'm very happy with the value of this dash cam and I hope it will serve me well for years to come.

The packaging tells you that the product is well thought and designed for buyers with good taste and looking for best quality dashcam! The items inside are well organized, packed separately per items, with corresponding manuals, easy to install and it serves the best of its purpose and functions beyond your expectation!

Im impressed by the quality and simplicity of this setup. I perched the hardwired kit from Rove and I think it is a better way to go. I installed the camera kit in a Sorento 2025. the provide wire for the rear camera in the ward-wire kit is adequate length by fishing the wire underneath the scuff plate without removing trim. Everything you need comes in the kit. Even the fuse holder that works flawlessly and rapidly. I was amazed by the small multimeter/test light being provided in the hard-wired kit the work like a charm. Great quality video with the front and the rear camera. The Rove app is user friendly and you do not need university degree to be able to navigate and setting up all the parameters via your phone. Whit the built in wifi it is easy to access your footage in case of emergency or provide as proof of imbecility of other drivers 😇. The built in gps provides precise positioning wen properly enter the gps tine zone.
