I recently used the Ain-X 600001 Windshield Repair Kit on a small chip in my windshield, and I’m very impressed with how well it worked. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the resin-based solution applied smoothly without any mess. The repair was quick, and within just a few minutes, the chip was sealed and no longer visible. I also love that it works for both chips under 1" in diameter and cracks smaller than 12" in length, making it versatile for a range of windshield damage. After using the kit, the damage was nearly invisible, and I felt confident driving again without worrying about further spreading. I followed the instructions exactly as it showed in the video. But I don’t recommend adding heat! I wish I had read the other reviews that also say that it can further the crack. No sun here so I added just a very light amount of heat in the final step, but it spread the crack. Fortunately I did have enough of the drops to repeat the steps and was able to help fix that. It does look better but it’s still visible. I don’t know if it’s enough to keep it from spreading again. I may have to find another kit to see if I can fill it completely. I guess the result will just vary. Although it didn’t give me the best results, I gave it a good score for easy steps, enough drops to repeat the process and at least the crack appears to be filled. Worth a try. I suppose all these kits and drops are similar. * not real easy to focus on such a tiny spot with my phone but tried to. Photo 6 is after I repeated all the steps again.

The materials seem good to me and so are the instructions, especially the videos. I followed the instructions thoroughly and carefully. Pictures shows that I lined up the tool as instructed, I placed six drops in the chamber and used the tool to screw down and plant the resin as directed. However, the outcome was not as I seen in the videos. The resin does seem to be planted in the spot but not sure if it really got into the cracks. I waited 4-5 minutes to let it set and 6-7 minutes to let it dry. I used the razor blade to scrape over and around. But the picture shows the outcome. My only hope is that its set well enough the crack won't spread, but time will tell.

The only downside to this product is the overly-complicated instruction manual. Don't be intimidated, this thing works and has repaired chips and cracks on my and my family and friends windshields going on 10 years. No exaggeration, I have fixed everything from cracks a few inches long to bullseye looking chips the size of a quarter. Almost every single time the repair is nearly indistinguishable. I once waited too long and was unable to repair a crack that had grown about a foot long. That was on me. Had I not waited and tackled it when it first showed up a few inches long, I'm certain it would have been another success story. I gladly buy a new pack every few repairs because I want them to continue making this product. Once you commit and dig in and do it the first time, it's a piece of cake every time thereafter. Just repaired two more chips about a half inch wide each and my wife can't tell where it was to begin with. Sometimes you have to repeat the process but it is way cheaper than replacing a windshield and from beginning to end takes about 10 minutes on something simple.

Got a rock chip on a road trip and didn't want it to spread as my windshield was perfect. Couldn't find a place to fix it, picked up one of these kits and tried it out. Worked great. It's been a month now and it's gone through a few freez thaw cycles with the defrost on and it's still good. You can still see the chip a bit but it looks the same as "profeesional" repairs. I bought this kit to have in the garage to fix any future chips.
