Purchased three of these to close off the living room so the kids would have a safe area to run around and play in. The tension without the stoppers is actually sufficient to hold in babies, but as they get older it may not hold in a persistent toddler. Very easy to set up though, the latch can be double-locked so kids can reach up and open it themselves, and it's easy to mount it to the wall if you need further support.

Used daily, we use this to keep out dogs in/out of certain area. It's really nice that it comes with an extra portion of the gate you can expand it to fit wider areas if needed. The child lock on the top is really nice and easy to use one handed if you are carrying anything and only have one hand free. Build quality is really nice since it is made out metal, and the screw to tighten function is really nice and easy to use.

Great product! Exactly what I needed & is as described. Im using this gate for my 1 yr old beagle and it works great for her. My brother installed for me and seemed to only take him about 10 - 15 minutes. I like the extender incase I have to move it to a wider area and I especially like that I can close my bedroom door without having to move it.

These gates are fantastic! They work well and have a great price point. The latch is easy to maneuver and the added feature that the latch can keep the gate closed without “locking” is handy to keep the door from swinging. What keeps me from giving a full 5 stars is what I feel to be a slightly strange size without the extension. I wanted to use the gate in a doorway because we removed the door from my toddlers room to keep her from closing it and visibility, but wanted to keep her contained without the door. The gate is quite wiggly in the doorway because the bolts are near their ends at the tension points. It’s sturdy enough to perform its function though so not a huge deal, but the extension is too long to fit in that space so it’s a bit of an “odd” fit. In addition it would be nice to have the ability for the door to swing both directions but that’s a small thing. Overall very happy with this purchase. We now have 2 and will likely get another!

I love this gate so much I bought 2 more. They’re easy to assemble. The fit is tight and secure and tall enough that my cats don’t try to jump over it. The door allows me to enter and exit the rooms easily.

We bought 2 of these to keep our basset hounds out of a couple of bedrooms when we're not home. Love them. There's a note in the box that the gates will look deformed before you install them. Yes, this is true! Don't think they're damaged or defective. They straighten out after you align them in the doorway. This is a feature, not a bug! Also be aware they're not self closing, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. For us, we wanted to leave them open during the day, so it's a good thing.

I bought this gate to keep my new puppy out of the kitchen. Gate is good quality and easy to assemble and put up. The bottom lock to keep Gate door secure, is super hard to close and not very practical. For example, every time you want to open the gate, not only must you unsecure the top lock and latch, you must bend down and turn this little bottom latch, otherwise you cannot open the gate door. But if you are buying this for a puppy or other small pet there is the issue of the side rails that secure to the wall. The rail is curved, look at photo in listing. NOT the area at the wall and slat, this is the last slat from the straight slats. It curves outward. My puppy a 4 month old Daschund is able to push half her body through it. She got stuck and my husband and I had to hold a wiggly pup to try and maneuver her through the slat. I bought some window screen netting and will zip tie it to the side to prevent her from getting through.

We bought two of these. One for the full price, and then the other for 1/3 of the full price because we ended up needing to replace an old one and it just worked out to be great timing. When you come into the front door of our house, we do not have much of an entrance way as we have a mudroom at the side of the house in the back and an area where people would take off shoes and such, so the front door is often just to check the mail and have the odd guest come through. The stairs are straight ahead, and then we have the living room on one side and the dining room on the other. We didn't want a gate that would ruin the stairwell wallpaper so we opted to have a gate on either side so that it would block our child two ways instead of one. These were fairly easy to install although we had to adjust the holders on the side a couple of times because it started to mess with being able to latch the gate but after three times we seemed to have got it. They are sturdy enough with the no hardware option and she definitely wouldn't be able to push them over or out of their place. At 17 months old though, she is all eyes for everything mommy and daddy are doing so she almost has it figured out how to open these -it's the sliding motion though that she just can't quite get because she needs bigger hands but she'll be able to open these two no problem later on. We love the fact that we could easily take them off the doorjams in which we have them right now, and take them with us if we are traveling knowing that they'll fit almost anywhere we need it to and the gate itself will cause zero harm, so it's multi-functional. We are thinking about getting a third and maybe even a forth for upstairs as we have a couple rooms that the doors do not shut all the way and she's not yet allowed in so we'll look into that soon. I'm pretty sure anyone buying four of something like this means that it's damn good. The only thing is that we think it's priced extremely high and think low forties would be more than enough to charge at regular price rather than bouncing all over the place with sales. Also, shipping was quick and efficient which is amazing since we live in rural Ontario and don't often get our mail that quickly! If you're considering buying this, just give yourself relief from the headache you'd cause yourself and get the gate! It'll be worth it and you'll be grateful that you were able to keep your toddler or animal safe!

This is a must buy if there is a pet at home. I measured the kitchen entrance and bought this gate. It took me sometime to install but once it is installed it is easy to use.. the best part is you don't have to drill any holes to set it up..
