My food waste has dropped dramatically since I started using the zip top vacuum bags. Freezer burn is a thing of the past. I am able to divide my frozen items in to serving sizes and keep them longer once the excess air is removed.

Up to now I've been using zip-loc freezer bags for sous vide so I though these might be good for freezer storage. I bought batch of bought-frozen crabs to make gumbo, only needed to use half. The other half went into one of the larger bags that came with this, air got sucked out and into the freezer it went. I was thinking it was pretty slick until I noticed a day later that the bag in the freezer had refilled with air. Now, there is nothing on the package saying that these might be good vacuum freezer bags, but if you were wondering, then no they're not. There's a bit of a learning curve to getting the pump to actually pull air out of the bags, but it does work - and the pump comes apart easily for cleaning. I haven't had a chance to test the 'reusable' claim, but the ones I used to sous vide swordfich steaks worked fine.

Easy to use, keeps food fresher much longer. I don't have the counter space for a vacuum sealer machine so this works great. Plus, I can reuse the full bags.

I was initially skeptical, but upon using the vacuum bag and pump, I have found this to be a great kit!! I am very pleased with the purchase and will be ordering more bags. I have used the vacuum bags and pump over the past month for sous vide cooking, avocados in the refrigerator, and meat in the freezer, all with great success. As a 60+ year old female, I have found the hand pump easy to use and my strong, nearly 30 year old son has had no problem operating the small plastic pump either. Highly recommend watching the product video included on the Amazon site. Waiting for approximately 5 seconds after the first, initial pump is IMPORTANT as it seems to release/activate the valve in the bag. You can actually hear it pop or snap open. Just remember to press it closed again AFTER pumping as shown on the video. So nice to have a small manual pump to vacuum seal the bags instead of an expensive and bulky piece of single use, electric equipment. Thank you for a great and useful product.

This is probably the worst hand pump that could be paired with these vacuum bags. The suction cup was made of hard plastic and I could not get a proper seal no matter what. If only they have added some type of gasket for the suction cup this would have been a good product.

Once you get the feel of using the suction pump that comes with it, how well it vacuums is actually impressive. I've not actually used them for Sous Vide yet. So I can't speak to how good they are for that. I have used and reused them as freezer bags several times now. And for that purpose they work wonderfully.

At first, I nearly tossed the product because I thought it was so poor. Despite appearances, I decided to test it out. To my surprise the bags did hold a perfect seal for quite a while. But I also discovered that the hand pump is (ridiculously poorly made) junk. The bags deserve a five-star but the hand pump that they include in the set, deserves less than one star. I already owned a mechanical (rechargeable) handheld pump which works perfectly with this product. I sometimes use Ziploc sandwich bags for portion control. I seal portions inside ziplock food bags and then put it inside these sous vide bags and my mechanical pump removes the air from both the inner portion bags, the ziplocs (that speaks to how airtight those sandwich bags are) and the actual vacuum bag. They are reusable. I have not found out how many times you can vacuum seal a bag, I've not reached a limit yet. I'm constantly pulling things out of the freezer, opening it and removing what I need. So far they've worked perfectly after resealing it. I absolutely adore them and have already purchased more bags. I use them in the refrigerator for produce protection, in the freezer to prevent freezer burn, and for dry storage (but not powders). The seal on the bag is super strong, way better than anything I've ever experienced. They have a large size that I believe will work with documents so I'm planning on protecting some important documents that way. I also recommend using the little closing tool that they provide and I just leave it in a handy spot on the counter when I'm not using it. Please note: The seal on these bags are not designed for liquids or powders, if you vacuum too strongly or too long, it will pull the liquid/powder through the vacuum seal as well. This potentially could go through the machine and wreck your pump.

This was just a game changer for me. I've been sous viding for awhile, using my vacuum/seal machine until it broke. Had 2 of these machines. Well, with these bags and pump you get the same result, with no machine. For 30sgd? I wish I knew this product before!

Product doesn’t work, air valves on reusable bags do not work. The pump pulls air, but does not seal the bags.

Dislike: the pump, after many uses, either wears out or the handle breaks; the different size of bags is great as I sous vide (and also store) food a great deal; but the down side is they wear out or a small puncture occurs and renders the bags as useless! Likes: pump works great (and wonderful exercise for the arm); the sizes of bags are a wide range of storage and cooking uses.
