I have done several studies with Jenn Wilkins and really enjoy her teaching. She’s clearly sincere and knowledgeable. This new Revelation course is deep and intense, but also fairly presents major views of eschatology without bias. She avoids taking a hard stance on admittedly difficult topics like the rapture, exact timing of events, and what is literal vs possibly symbolic, but doesn’t shy away from leading you to research scripture and ask questions yourself. While I don’t necessarily agree with all her theories, that’s fine because the very nature of Revelation (particularly if you view most of it, as stated, as future prophecy) prevents us from knowing exactly how to interpret everything. We should hold this loosely and avoid making predictions and assumptions, and agree to fellowship with each other even if we view this beautiful book through different perspectives. We won’t know exactly what much of the events are until they happen, but it’s crucial that we read, listen to, and study the revelation we’ve been given and accept that the Lord has a perfect plan we will eventually understand completely. Since this isn’t a salvation issue or one we should hold blindly, I think the method the author uses to guide us in seeking answers through past prophecy and exploring the entire Bible is entirely appropriate. I would advise not starting with this if you’ve never read scripture and are new to Bible studies, because it is challenging and involves a lot of research. But everyone should undertake a serious study of Revelation at some point, and you needn’t be a scholar or even familiar with the Bible completely to read this book and understand it. God gave us His Word to discern ourselves through the Holy Spirit and if we pray for wisdom, He will guide you through His fascinating and profoundly essential gift to us. God bless you on your journey!

This is my first Jen Wilkin study (IYKYK...probably) and I don't know that I've ever done a more challenging Bible study. Or, a better written one. It is extremely time-intensive and also will flex your Bible brain muscle by challenging you to make connections on your own that many of us are (I am) used to having made for me. Don't get discouraged in the 'not-knowing' or if life gets in the way and you get 'behind.' God will honor the effort and you'll get what you're meant to. This study requires comfort with not-knowing and/or understanding every individual point and concept--you'll be surprised and I hope, encouraged, by how much you absorb over the weeks of the study. This focuses on teaching through the meaning and symbolism of Revelation as the early church would have received and understood it, without attempt to link to current/world events, people, politics, etc. If you are looking to understand or frame current geopolitics through a Revelation lens, this is not that. The book of Revelation is broken into 10 chunks of text, each of which is studied in deep detail over a week. There are numerous scriptural cross-references to Old Testament prophecy and scriptures to 'look back' at how elements in Revelation show up in and tie directly back to preceding Biblical prophecy or events. The study is meant to be done in three steps: homework/questions completed individually, discussed in a small group, and then followed by a teaching video in which Jen Wilkin connects dots and brings concepts together. The video is not designed to stand alone and might confuse more than it clarifies otherwise (at least it would have me). Highly recommended.

This is not the Bible study book for you if you’re looking for something that’s light reading, easy, and quick. I appreciate so many facets of each lesson, and I am really like the reading aloud, suggestions and the ways to highlight your Bible. Most importantly, The study delves deeply into a book that can be a little hard for the average Bible reader to discern. It is challenging, but so worth it.

This book needs another edit. Towards the end, questions in the group discussion didn’t match the actual question. I was a participant, but always prepped by looking at the group discussion questions. Our Bible Study Leader indicated that she wouldn’t do the first edition for Bible Study anymore. This is not my first Bible Study on Revelation, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it still needs a little work. I especially enjoyed the book of Revelation in the back, color coding, and drawing (even though I’m a pathetic artist). It helped in learning the material, and maybe this time I’ll remember more.

My church is going through the book of Revelation and I wanted to do an in-depth study along the side of my church. This study has been perfect for me! I love that it has different ways you interact with the text! There are times when you answer questions, draw pictures, look behind at scripture, and watch videos! Definitely worth the purchase!

Jen Wilkin does an amazing job taking you through the book of Revelation with such wisdom, contextual accuracy, pertinent historical facts, and life application for today. I have completed many studies on the book of Revelation and this study, in my humble opinion, is by far the most biblically accurate study on such a misunderstood book of the Bible. Understanding God's words to us in Revelation in right context brings comfort vs fear, encouragement vs defeat, worship vs fleeing, strength vs escapism. I highly recommend every Christian woman go through this study and share with others.
