Metallica, la banda de amores y odios, crearon esta obra maestra y hoy, 40 años después, suena mejor que nunca, la edición y prensaje notorios. Qué más decir...

There's nothing to dislike about Ride the Lightning ! It's a metal masterpiece. It never gets old. Sounds as good today as it did 40 some years ago. Every time I listen to it it's 1984 again.

I grew up in the 80's listening to Vinyl, but it was all my old mans records. Now that I am a grown man I can afford all of the records I really wanted to have in my youth. The sound quality of this print is really good. My metal collection isn't very extensive, unless you count Jethro Tull...ah ha ha... ha... oh God why..., but this has the best over all dynamic range of them. Will definitely order their other albums here too.
As for the music, if you honestly don't know what this album is, I guess I'll help you too.
Ride the Lightning is the second studio album by Metallica. The first one that was almost entirely without Dave Mustaine ,he's credited on only one song. With this album you still have plenty of "Thrash Metal" but something starts to happen. They start to really explore some melodies and heavier metal. By that I mean it isn't just speed and pace with thrashing chords. Instead they let long ominous chords echo out into songs. Perfect example of this experimentation is Fade to Black. It sounds great, and has all of those attributes, but is definitely a step away from Thrash Metal. This continues over the next two albums until you get to "the black album" aka Metallica. If you are a metal enthusiast, you need those 4 albums in your life.

IDK why some people are leaving bad reviews about the quality of this pressing. I listened to the album at pretty high volume and the only noise I could hear was the drive motor on my turntable. Boo hoo.
As far as the remastering is concerned, it sounds just fine to me. I don't have a original first pressing in mint condition that has never even been looked at by human eyes, so I don't have a proper baseline to compare it to. Maybe if I can get my hands on the original master tapes of all tracks, I can do a proper review but I doubt just some guy who enjoys music can get that kind of red carpet treatment. Maybe I'll call up Lars Ulrich tonight and ask him why he would dare call himself a musician if he can't please 100% of music snobs.
Anyway, the album is high enough quality to warrant a purchase if you don't already have one.

Okay, I was blessed enough in my childhood to have an OG pressing of this record. Blackened has done an amazing job reviving the feel and sound of this album. I've heard many pressings of this record and if it comes from Blackened, it will sound good.
