I got one of these a while back and have been very happy with the product. I use it to keep an eye on the pool in the back, or to check the wildlife out (although it is nice for security as well). Excellent floodlight ability too which is about 90% of why I got this one. So I just bought ANOTHER one...this one for the area near the garage door in the back yard. Now I have coverage over my entire back yard, as well as providing even more light to my "barbecue zone". Since I have the Ring doorbell as well, I can look at all three cameras from the app which is really nice.

Absolutely in LOVE with this security light and the extra monitoring you can add on and pay monthly for

This camera puts out very clear videos. I would suggest paying the $5 per month for the play back recordings. I would definitely by another one if need be.

I’ve had several Plus models for quite some time now. They work great but I was looking for improvement for one location on the front of my house so I bought a Pro model to try out despite some of the negative reviews. I’m so glad I did!! I’d like to address three of the negative points that several folks make in their review of this Pro product. This is all just my opinion so take it or leave it. 1- complaints about the color of the floodlight light. I do agree that the Pro model has yellowish floodlights whereas the Plus is more whiteish. I can’t quite understand this seemingly backwards move when the “norm” for outdoor lighting is that cooler LED white these days. And if I had to vote, I’d vote for the light color in the Plus, BUT, by no means is the color of the light on the Pro annoying or a deal breaker. It’s actually fine. I have some 3000K LED bulbs in the fixtures on the front of my house and the light output of the Pro matches it pretty well. 2- complaints about the Pro light output being less than the Plus. I’d have to disagree. As stated in #1 above, it is a warmer color, but I honestly think the Pro is brighter. Some folks perceive light color temperature as bright vs dim, but it’s misleading to the eyes. I still have both the Pro and Plus temporarily mounted one right above the other (for comparison testing) and I strongly feel that the Pro lights are brighter. 3- complaints about the camera in the Pro not being any better than the Plus. Well, in some cases this may be true. The specs say that they are the same but with one big advantage for the Pro model. “HDR”. High Dynamic Range gives the lens the ability to adapt to bright light and low light at the same time. The primary reason I bought the Pro to try is HDR because the front of my house faces east. In the afternoon, the sun is still blasting over my house, thereby lighting up the street and neighbors front yards, but my driveway is in the shadow. HDR is a game changer in this situation. The Plus model would generally adjust for the darker (driveway) portion of the image thereby leaving the entire street way too bright and basically just a white blur. You could barely make out a car going by or a person walking by. HDR fixed that 100%. I don’t know exactly how it works, but now both the driveway and street and clearly visible at all times of the day. I’m a privacy freak or else I would post a photo showing the difference. Its a stunning difference. If you don’t have this type of situation, then yes the camera in the two will perform the same and you will see little benefit from the Pro model. Because of the Black Friday deals I got the Pro model for an amazing price and that’s the reason I went ahead and tried it. I’m keeping it and moving one of my Plus cams to another location on the house! The Pro model may not be worth the cost difference to you in general, but in the right application it’s a game changer.

Purpose: Hardwired to existing electrical boxes for 24-7 function (as long as you have power). Overall, I don't know why these are pricey. For most people's purposes, good overall camera. Here are some details: Camera Resolution: Pro 2 are 1080P camera resolution, not 4K/8K. Because resolution is not 4K/ 8K, seeing details such as faces from a *distance,* not so great. General images/ video good for most purposes. Why Pro 2: The Pro 2 (2024) is a HUGE difference from older models. If you want decent camera security, pony up and get higher quality (latest versions). I would not consider similar battery-operated Ring 1 cameras because you'll have to change the (lithium) battery, and if the camera is high mounted, this can get annoying. I used hardwired camera to electrical socket from inside the residence. Despite many public claims, small lithium batteries don't last 5 years. Maybe 6 months to 1 year at best, when using 24-7. That is my experience with many lithium battery-powered devices over many years. Ring Pro 2 Flood Lamps: The LED flood lamps on this version creates enough light to light up like near daylight in total darkness. The Ring App: The Ring app is easy to use. You can track all your Ring cameras/ devices from the App. You can also share the app from the master account (registered user) with other family members or authorized persons. ONLY the master account (registered user), can delete videos and change the settings for devices. Using the Ring app, you can also customize the camera to a reasonable coverage area, and adjust it for alerts. This camera even picked up small cats, dogs, and even a small rodent in the middle of the night outside near (covered) trash cans. The flood lamp stays on (you decide how long, how bright or even all night. Adjust it easy from the App). I think it's best for flood lamps to come on when motion is detected at night only. I prefer maximum flood light brightness. No more hiding in the dark from passing strangers. Camera Privacy Note: Make sure your cameras are not covering over your neighbor's private property lines. Also note to insure the (hand-adjustable) flood lamps aren't pointing at neighbors that might keep them up at night. Siren Feature: I have not used the siren yet. I think it will freak out the neighbors. If you have a need for an audible alert such as for a business at night, maybe turn on the siren. Keep in mind anything that comes within the range, will trigger an alert. If you are using the siren, it can alert a lot unless no one is supposed to be in your camera zone (coverage) area. Install: Get someone who understands electrical box outlets (plugs). Power down residence before installing/ touching live hot wires! Ring Help: Toll free help line was helpful when I had some install issues. VPN: VPN is not supported by Ring. If using a VPN (virtual private network), you'll have to turn that app off first before using the Ring app. Then, turn the VPN back on after you're done. I know it's annoying, but if you want to use VPN, this is how to do it. Cellular or Wi-Fi. Ring works on your own WiFi network. Suggest use your cell phone's cellular data and WiFi. If use WIFI only, you won't see alerts until you have WIFI again. Ring Neighborhood Sharing: Not sharing with neighbors because they don't need to be notified when I come and go, and when. Hope this helps.

Great picture. No batteries to worry about. Good flood light. Easy to install and program. Much better product than others.

This replaced an original Ring Floodlight Camera that had finally kicked the bucket (camera lens became very cloudy and was useless). Video quality is a huge step up, and installation was pretty simple.
