I’ve been using the Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen, 2023 release, White) for a few weeks, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my home setup. Setting it up was a breeze—plugged it in, followed the Ring app’s step-by-step guide, and had it running in under 10 minutes. The compact design (about 3.8 inches tall) fits perfectly on my shelf, and the adjustable mount lets me angle it just right to cover my living room. It’s sleek and blends in without screaming “security camera.” The 1080p HD video is crisp and clear during the day, with vibrant colors. The color night vision is a nice upgrade from the first gen—images are decent in low light, though black-and-white night mode is sharper if it’s really dark. Motion alerts pop up instantly on my phone, and I love that I can tweak the motion zones to avoid false triggers from my ceiling fan. The two-way talk is loud and clear, perfect for checking in on my dog or startling the cat off the counter. It works seamlessly with my Alexa Echo Show, letting me pull up the live feed with a voice command. The manual privacy cover is a standout feature—just swivel it over the lens, and both the camera and mic shut off, which feels way more secure than just trusting software. The only downside is you need a Ring Protect subscription (starts at $3.99/month) to save or review videos, which adds up, but the basic plan’s 180-day storage is worth it for me. I did notice occasional Wi-Fi drops, but a quick refresh in the app fixes it—might just be my network. For $59.99, it’s a solid deal for reliable indoor monitoring, especially if you’re already in the Ring or Alexa ecosystem. If you want 2K video or don’t use Ring, you might look at something like the Eufy E220, but this cam’s simplicity and privacy features make it a winner for me. Highly recommend for keeping tabs on your home or pets

Great to have in the house if you want to keep an eye on a loved one or a pet. I have one at my front window for notifications when someone comes to my home. I also bought one to have inside to keep an eye on two kittens we are fostering. Excellent way to feel secure when you are not at home. I chose to purchase the Ring monitoring so I can keep the videos if needed. I also like the fact that my son gets notified as well when something makes the camera ting. The video is clear day and night. It is so detailed it was picking up my rose bush when the wind was blowing, a little tweak and that was fixed. I am happy with the Ring products, would recommend.

And yet another update. I started all over again, removing the devices, uninstalling/reinstalling, yada yada yada, and now I am getting audible alerts. Hope I don't have to do tis every few weeks... This is a second update. My previous 5 star was for the support that I received. I'm downgrading to 3 stars. Suddenly, none of my ring devices ( 2 indoor cameras and a battery doorbell ) are providing ANY audible alerts. This is SOOOOO frustrating. I've tried all of the following and NOTHING helps. 1. Cleared both cache and data in the app, result NO GOOD. 2. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, result NO GOOD. 3. Went thru the setup process with each device, result NO GOOD. I know the devices can speak, because they did so during the setup process. So why do I get not audible alerts from either the device or my Galaxy S25 plus ??? Also, all notifications are set properly on my phone. This is an update. I got to work with the Ring support folks over the phone. Now that's customer service! Support typically consists of trading emails back and forth with someone, but Ring apparently provides an actual human person to speak with. That's very commendable. Nice job Ring. Overall, I think it's a nice camera for the price. But my problem comes when creating a schedule for the camera to NOT send notification alerts. The interface shows no alerts will be sent, but yet I am still getting alerts. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, tried clearing the app cache, tried rebooting the device, yet nothing corrects the problem. When researching this, it appears that this has been going on for YEARS, and Ring is not addressing the issue ! Wow, now that's great customer service. Without this alerting issue, I would give it 6 stars..... I just noticed that while the Alert status on my phone shows alerts are DISABLED, the Alerts status on the web site shows Alerts are ENABLED.
