The instructions were clear and straightforward, and the app made connecting the camera to my Wi-Fi network a simple process. Within minutes, I had the camera up and running, ready to monitor my property. The video quality of the Ring Spotlight Cam is impressive. The 1080p resolution provides crisp, clear footage, allowing me to easily see any activity around my home. We originally started with just a Ring doorbell many years ago but over the past 2.5 years, after moving into our forever home, we have added three of these cameras. Two are solar powered and one is directly wired to the house. All are attached to our Ring app and Alexa for easy and secure monitoring. They work wonderfully. The video and live feeds are extremely clear no matter if it’s day or night. The sound quality is also great. We haven’t needed the sirens but I have tested them and they are plenty loud. The cameras and solar panels were all very easy to install and setup on the app was a breeze. There are a lot of useful features and it’s very user friendly. Some of my favorite features are that we can set the sensitivity and areas to be monitored so we aren’t constantly getting alerts about the neighbors or cars and people coming by the front of the house. I think my only real complaint is that all the cameras need a battery even if they’re wired in. The cameras that are hooked to the solar panels need two batteries to hold a decent charge but I will say the solar panels do a great job of recharging them so I don’t have to climb my ladder to pull out batteries for recharging constantly.

The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus (Battery) has been a game-changer for my home security! I love how easy it was to install, and the fact that it's battery-operated means I can place it anywhere without worrying about wires or outlets. The color night vision is crystal clear, and the two-way talk feature lets me communicate with anyone near my door or yard—whether I’m home or away. The security siren is loud and effective, and I feel much safer knowing that I can activate it to deter any potential intruders. The motion detection is highly accurate, and I receive timely alerts through the Ring app, which is super convenient. I also love the adjustable spotlight, which ensures everything is well-lit at night and provides an added layer of protection. Bought this with the separate solar panel. The "assembly" instructions were Ikea-like — line drawings of the various parts and steps, with brief explanations of each — but perfectly adequate to get the camera ready to go. Since I already had another Ring device getting this connected to the existing Ring network/app, and the chime I already had, was simple and pretty quick too. The field of view was more than adequate, as was the picture quality, and zones to detect motion were easy to set up too. The image quality during the day was fine; can't tell too much about at night because there are two wired lamps, always on at night, one on each side of the camera and the relatively weak light in the camera. It only takes a few seconds for the camera to detect motion, set my chime off, and show a popup on my tablet that motion was detected. WiFi strength. My camera was mounted on the opposite side of the house from where my wi-fi router is, and there is a brick outside wall and I don't know how many interior sheetrock walls the signal had to travel through, but the signal was strong enough that I had no problems in that regard. About the OPTIONAL SOLAR PANEL: After fully charging the battery in the house with the supplied USB cord, then mounting the camera outside and getting it all hooked up to WiFi and the solar panel, for a couple of days i watched as the battery charge level started going down and reached about 90% of full charge. I was worried that the panel wasn't charging the battery. Opened the app again one evening, checked charge level, and it was back up to 100%. Short story: the solar panel works to keep the camera in good shape. The only negative I can think of, and to me it's a minor one, is that you'll probably need to watch a few YouTube videos (what else is new?) and go through various pages on the Ring site to get a more complete understanding of the basic features and options and how to modify them. In reality it was no big deal.

Very happy with the Ring Spotlight Camera. I am able to monitor activity at my front door, each time I receive a notification of motion I check what has set the camera off. I can see when packages are delivered and who comes and goes in my driveway. Set up was very easy with great instructions. The automatic light feature is great and being able to speak through the camera and alarm feature added bonus.
