I have been using a Roku device for over 20 years and this Roku Ultra HD/4K/HDR has Dolby Vision, Rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro, Ethernet Port (avoids blind spots in wireless coverage), Hands-Free Voice Controls, Lost Remote Finder, with every streaming App we need and more. The rechargable remote is nice - no more batteries corroding in their compartment - and we only charge it every 2 or 3 months. Wired and Wireless connections are easwy to configure. In less than a minute, we can disconnecct the Roku and take it with us camping or while in a hotel to never miss our shows! The remote also learns your TV signal easily during setup to control volumn and power funtions. Lots of apps to supply free TV and Movies if you are on a tight budget or Great Apps for paid streaming like Sling, YouTube, Fubo, etc. So impressed with this unit, we upgraded all of our Ruku's to the Ultra HD/4K/HDR and gave our older Roku's to friends who didn't have any streaming capability. All 3 Units perform great with no issues (1 is refurbished). First 2 purchased in 2022 - Refurbished unit purchased in 2024. Thanks Ruku for making the best streaming device for 20+ years!

I have Apple TV and now Roku as well hooked into my Sony TV and audio system. Why both? Roku has some sports streaming, particularly MLB that is not available on any other platform including Apple. And more is coming. I’ve been using Apple for years and now this Roku side by side for over a month. Overall, the Roku is the better device because it’s less expensive, the Roku remote is light years ahead of the wonky Apple Remote, a spare Roku remote is only $20, not $60 like the Apple spare remote. The Roku remote looks better and works a LOT better. Both devices have similar appearances - see the photo. I hate, despise, dislike and otherwise want to bury the Apple Remote in my backyard. It’s super touchy, the slide touch panel is annoying beyond belief and it’s not intuitive. If you mishandle the Apple Remote you could be 5 apps away in 1 second. I put a yellow non-slip cover on the Apple remote because it’s slippery. The Roku remote has a non slip textured finish. Setup of both devices is similar with the most difficult part being adding new apps with their respective passwords. The Roku seems to offer more QR codes for password use so you don’t have to type in a multi character passwords on a POS remote like the Apple Remote. Picture and sound quality appear similar. I’m running a 4k Sony TV connected to McIntosh MX-122 home theater preamp with both devices running through the MX-122. The MX-122 offers audio “pass through” so I can use the Apple or Roku with either the TV or the McIntosh sound. Dolby Atmos and Dolby work well with both devices and my McIntosh system. But the remote control on the Apple is the deal breaker for me plus the extra $50 for the actual Apple device. The Apple Remote is annoying junk and I hate that thing. I find myself using the Roku more and more just for the remote. I can see a time in the future when I might get rid of the Apple and just keep the Roku. Apple better come up big in their next gen Apple TV device and remote and drop the price or Roku will make them obsolete.

I've had a handful of Roku devices over the years, going back to the old generation that had ethernet ports and RCA video output jacks on them, when they were only 720p capable little boxes for Netflix and not much else. Over the years, Roku has steadily improved their devices with each iteration. However, they have also expanded downward, to appeal to the most cost-conscious consumers, too. Those lower end models tend to be a bit more frustrating. While they're all easy to setup and navigate the ever-increasing world of streaming apps, they were marred by buggy, slow interfaces and cheap hardware that didn't last more than a few years of daily use. Before picking up this Ultra model, I'd tried to dip my toes into the world of 4k HDR with the Streaming Stick+. Unfortunately, it was so underpowered and poorly shielded that it would overheat when playing any 4k HDR videos for more than a few minutes. A free extension HDMI cable didn't help, either. The interface, despite being a fairly recent generation device, was always soooo slow, especially on some newer streaming apps that were graphics-heavy. The Roku Ultra solves all those problems, and throws in some extras that make it worth the added cost over lower end models. As the "latest and greatest" it is pretty smooth with all streaming apps that I've tried. It doesn't overheat, and it doesn't struggle with high-bitrate content thanks to a good quality wi-fi modem. (It even has an Ethernet port like the old models, for even more solid connectivity!) The remote returns the headphone jack for private listening — a real innovative and welcome feature. It also is rechargeable, so no more keeping batteries on hand. I've two weeks into daily use and it's still over 80%, which hopefully means it'll be months between charges. That remote also features always-on voice features that can be disabled with an actual, physical switch. Wonderful! That's not to say all is perfect, however. A few long-lived Roku issues persist. For example, the default video settings that have the Roku adjust on the fly to changing video resolutions can cause some TVs like mine to go black for a second or two, which is annoying. It also is an always-on device. I do really wish I could turn it OFF-off without unplugging it. (The Roku sticks can be powered by the TV's USB port, so they go off when the TV does.) And since it's always on, it also automatically checks for app updates daily whether you want it to or not. I much prefer doing that manually, usually late at night when the internet speeds are fastest. Those are minor issues, obviously, and have yet to stop me from buying new Rokus every so many years as the technology improves.

100% Recomendado.

It was working fine for a few days, then it went down. It's broken, nothing on screen. I tried different cables, different HDMI ports, even a different TV - nothing, It gets power as the front light is lid. I tried to 'reset' it but the light does not flick as indicated in the 'reset instructions'. I can still return it but too much IDs/passwords in there, I may take the hit with the loss. Update: I found a solution, I 'unlik' the device from my Roku account, nothing can be accessed now. I returned it and got my money back.

Alot of the apps advertised on the box weren't available in UAE. The crunchyroll offer wasn't redeemable in my region. Otherwise, the product is simple to set up and use. Overall wasn't satisfied with it and returned it.
