just bought as it was heavy duty and on sale.... old ones were wearing away.... never tried the heat temperance, but seems like it would hold up.... really bought it for plain old cake baking bowl, but if have to stir hot jello mix, have a spatula to hold up to task.... good grip... the 9 inch seems a bit short, but the long handle one seems too long... both have balance though,, feel good in hand.... right spatual for the size bowl you have ...

This spatula is very high quality, it does not stain even when using ingredients like pure tarragon and curries, etc. The only downside is that it is quite long and likely will not fit standing up in most residential dishwashers. You'll have to hand wash it or have it laying down in your dishwasher.

This is the king of spatulas- just buy it. It’ll last forever. Sturdy, easy to clean, high heat resistance (I use it more in a hot pan than anywhere else). You won’t be disappointed.

These silicone spatulas are the highly recommended ones from a leading cooking magazine. So I purchased all these Rubbermaid professional heat resistant spatulas and spoonulas (9 ½", 13 ½" and 16 ½" in length). I use the spatulas primarily for folding ingredients in a mixing bowl. I prefer to use the spoonulas for scraping a bowl when I want to scrape out every last bit of cooking goodness (the edges of the spoonulas are thinner and the cupping of the spoonulas both help to scrape bowls, pans, and pots clean). The Rubbermaid professional plastic handles are more comfortable to use than the wood handles on my heat resistant spatulas and spoonulas. Also, the silicone heads of my wood handle ones are stiffer than the Rubbermaid professional ones. I think that little bit of flex in the Rubbermaid Professional silicone heads helps me scrape cleaner. I have yet to use the little notch on these spatulas for scraping under the opening of jars (I think they were intended for use on the commercial kitchen size jars) since the spatulas are 2 ¼" wide for the 9 ½" to 2 ¾" wide for the 13 ½" and 16 ½" long tools. The handle ends have small prongs that look like they are to help keep the entire spatula or spoonulas from sliding into a work bowl. I have some older Rubbermaid ones and they are definitely not stain resistant: the paprika has permanently stained one of the mixing spatulas. I was able to remove the paprika stain from the Rubbermaid professional spatula using dishwashing liquid and a nylon Scotchbright like pad. Also, my older Rubbermaid heat resistant spoonula developed a split at the tip and has warped a bit. I just realized that one of the reasons why I don't like my similar sized 13 ½" sized silicone spatulas and spoonulas with wood handles: the working end is heavy so the tool is not as balanced as these Rubbermaid Professionals. For most home kitchens, I'd recommend buying the 9 ½' and 13 ½" size spatulas and spoonulas. There is a 16 ½" size that is very long and the silicone head is the exact same size as the 13 ½: (14" actual) size (4" X 2 ¾"). PROS: The silicone heads have just the right amount of flex to scrape cleaner than similar sized scrapers and spoonulas. The handles are more comfortable and sized well. CONS: A bit expensive but you a get a tool likely to last.

I bought this scraping spatula because it won America's test kitchen's review. I am not disappointed. I have a very large hands, and the spatula is very large. It's head is big enough to be able to scrape out a large bowl without too many passes. I happen to make large batches of food, so I don't use small bowls very often. This spatula is too big for small containers. I've used it with tomato sauce once and put it through the dishwasher once or twice. I don't see strong tomato stains on the white head. I don't understand what the notch on the back of the Whitehead is used for, but I'm sure there's a reason for it with which I am simply not yet familiar. This is NSF rated ie can be used in commercial kitchens. The handle is very long, too long for most bowls that I use, but good if you had a very deep bowl. But the bowl would have to be very very deep, something like a 30 quart mixing bowl, for the length of the spatulas handle to be warranted. The handle is thicker in the middle and tapers more to a point at the end on the far side of the spatulas head. I don't understand the benefit of that, and it indicates to me nearly that you're not supposed to use the end told it with. That makes the links of the handle even less understandable. For that reason I reduced the star rating by one. If they have the next smaller version, I would probably get it. There's a protrusion on the white head on one side right next to the handle. It's designed to keep the white side off of the counter if you put it flat on the counter. And if there's no food on the spatulas head, then it works that way. But unless you're working with very thin liquids, the amount of space between the table and the spatulas head is too small for this intention to be useful. So this seems like another design idea that was better in theory than in practice. Nonetheless, the spatula is better than the others I've used.

Really great product. Has been my go to spatula since I purchased it. Withstands the heat very well and didn't stain when immersed in simmering tomato sauce, which to me is the ultimate test. Worked great when mixing chocolate chip cookie dough - I can't tell you how many spatulas that have snapped in half over the years - this one wont.
