As the title says, I'm incredibly surprised by the image quality here. The picture is absolutely beautiful. I'm running at 40/50 on the brightness scale. This is what I find most comfortable. There's still enough brightness for the picture to really pop, but not so bright that pure white screens are too bright. With the brightness set to 40/50, the monitor draws a steady 44-45 watts. Since it's an LCD panel, it doesn't fluctuate like an OLED would. At a brightness of 50/50, the power draw is around 53 watts. And at 0/50, it’s around 18 watts. I find 40/50 to be the best balance between pop and comfort. The size here is great. On the setup where I'm using this monitor, 37 inches is the limit of what I can use. Even 40 inches would be too large. So on a practical level, this is perfect for this desk. I also find it's probably as large as I'd want to go for a productivity display. It's still manageable at this size, but any larger and I think I'd struggle. I wish the settings were a little more geared towards photo/video editing. There are 10 presets and 4 of them are dedicated to different game genres. I don't think gamers are going to be the target audience here (considering the higher price and the 60hz refresh rate). So I wish they would have a clearly defined preset labeled at 6500k. For a display that's focused so much on productivity and color reproduction, this seems like a natural thing to have. I tried to eyeball the settings next to a monitor I had dialed into 6500k. The best settings I could come up with are the Entertainment preset using Warm 1 or the Graphics preset using Natural. I'm not sure which one is closest to 6500k. It might be Graphics using the Natural preset. That said, I'm mostly using the Entertainment with Warm1 preset. For videos and stuff, I feel it gives me just a bit more punch for my liking. The text is also super crisp and natural looking (with Windows scaling set to 150%). For this price range, the 60hz limit is kind of disappointing. And probably not what gamers are looking for. But I did play a number of games on it and was still quite impressed. It's a great size and the colors really pop. So if you can live with a 60hz limit, there's still a lot to really like. I wasn't detecting any obvious input lag (and I'm pretty sensitive to it). So refresh rate aside, it's still pretty respectable for gaming. And the fantastic colors go a long ways in that area. The listing says this is a glossy monitor, but once you remove the protective film it ships with, it's definitely a matte display. As with most Samsung displays, setup is super simple. You can have the adjustable stand installed in a couple of seconds. You'll likely need some kind of adapter if you want to use a custom VESA mount (since it's inlay-ed a bit), but the included stand should work for most people. Value for money is a tuff question. There's literally no competition if you specifically want 37 inches. And the display has fantastic image quality. But in this price range, almost everything else will give you 120+ hz options. So it's really about what you mostly want.

Coming from an older ultrawide that was almost as wide but not as tall has been challenging. A screen this wide but flat puts more strain on your eyes when looking to the edges. I hope I get more used to this. While the monitor looks great, it is lacking features common in other similar or even cheaper monitors, such as speakers. The port placement (some on the back, facing out, some on the side facing out to the side) is also odd and very annoying. I'm much more used to all ports on the back facing down, which makes cable management neater and easier. Finally, there is inexplicably no DDC support when connecting via usb-c, and my M2 Macbook Pro at least detects this as a TV rather than monitor (despite the very high resolution) and so display options are wonky to start and always show the mirroring/extend widget. In the photo, this monitor is on the left, with the older 32" Samsung M80C on the right.

The Samsung 37-inch ViewFinity S8 (S80UD) has a modern design with slim bezels and a solid stand. The build quality feels premium, and the stand allows for height, tilt, and swivel adjustments, making it easy to set up for comfort. The monitor’s size and 4K resolution give you an expansive workspace-great for multitasking, creative work, or just enjoying extra screen real estate. This monitor is a 4K VA panel and supports HDR10, delivering sharp, detailed images and vibrant colors. VA panel tech means you might notice some black crush or gamma shift on dark backgrounds, but this is typical for VA. It covers 99–100% of the sRGB color space and about 98% of DCI-P3, so it’s ok for content creation, design, and video work. It's VA so it has good viewing angles with a tradeoff for brightness. The brightness peaks at 400 nits, which is more than enough for most office and creative environments. but is below average now for monitors. This has a matte finish which doesn't help out the contrasts. This is also a 60Hz screen which isn't so good for gaming. The 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time are standard for a productivity monitor, but not great for gaming. The built-in KVM and USB-C make it especially convenient for laptop users or anyone working with multiple computers. S80UD is a solid monitor for professionals and creatives who want a spacious, sharp, and feature-rich 4K monitor but isn't going to play games. It’s ideal for multitasking, design, and media work. I do wish that it had more HDMI and Display port inputs so it could do more computers with the bult in KVM, but my guess is that most will not use those features. Overall this is a RECOMMEND!

The screen finish is not glossy as indicated in description. Picture quality as expected from a samsung, the extra ports and 90w charging feature is great. Disappointed that its not glossy finished, mught return item.

My wife upgraded from a 27" wide to this ... and wow, the size difference is impressive. The display on the screen is high quality, as expected from Samsung. Windows defaults to the full resolution but then zooms the screen into 300%. We changed that and settled on 150% which seems to be the best size vs quality for my wife. Port placement is a bit weird for cable management but we like that it can also be used as a peripheral "hub". You could do power pass-through and LAN if you wanted to use the monitor as a hub for a laptop. Others have mentioned the lack of speakers in the monitor but for us that is not an issue. I've never found monitor speakers useful as the sound is never that good.
