I bought my wife a Lenovo ideapad 3 - 15ITL05 laptop last year. Was working normally then, out of nowhere, we got locked out of the computer. After many tiring attempts at trying to get into Windows, we discovered that a Windows app named BitLocker was enabled and keeping us from getting into the system. We tried finding the key to unlock it, no luck. Tried to clean install Windows 11 and Windows 10, no luck. So finally, I opened it up, removed the factory drive (128 gb NVMe M.2) and ordered this masterpiece. Installation was very easy, had to go into BIOS and disable Intel VMD to be able to select the drive in the Windows installation prompt, then proceeded to install Windows 10 Home 64-bit. I went with Windows 10 because this computer is low-end and I thought it would be more efficient. After the install and setting up some apps like Chrome and installing some drivers, I did a restart. And O-M-G, this thing went from the push of the power button to the desktop screen in about 6 seconds flat. At just $65, Amazon and Samsung has come through for me to no disappointment. Will be ordering more of these 1 tb monsters. Easy, cheap and super effective. Computer Specs Lenovo ideapad 3 - 15ITL05 Laptop i3 1115G4 @ 3.00 ghz 12 gb DDR4 RAM (upgraded from 4gb soldered in) 1 tb Samsung 980 NVMe M.2 (upgraded from 128gb NVMe BitLocker lemon) Windows 10 Home 64-bit (downgraded from Windows 11 for efficiency)

Been using Samsung products ever since I swapped to SSDs. They are the best and provide reliable performance. I concurrently own the 850 EVO, 960 Pro, 960 EVO, 970 EVO Plus, 980 Pro and now the 980 all at 1 TB storage capacities. Each of them have been blazing fast, significantly faster than standard SATA SSD's. Clearly the 980 is an excellent NVMe drive. I cloned this ssd just using it for a backup drive. Currently I use 980 Pro. Actually I really cannot tell the difference between these two on a PCIE 3.0 motherboard. With a Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming PCIE 3.0 motherboard, this SSD is stupid fast. Very happy with the performance. I agreed with the argument that NVMe PCI Express Gen 4 drives would likely not really make a huge difference over a fast the PCIe Gen3 SSD drives. I know PCIe Gen5 SSD is not far behind. Also the drives obviously cost more. When connected through the M.2 to USB NVMe SSD Adapter, it could not be initialized. When I tried to initialize hard drive via Disk Management and receive error message such as “This request cannot be completed because of an I/O device error” or “The device is not ready”. The is something wrong with the hard drive connection cable or adapter. M.2 NVMe Interface Internal SSD drive is easily initialized in m.2 slot on motherboard. This also needs to be installed in the M.2 slot closest to the CPU which has a direct connection to the CPU. Using EaseUS Software, I imaged my existing 980 Pro 3-partition hard drive onto this SSD and it booted perfect and have not had a single problem. La unidad Samsung 980 es una maravilla. Ya tengo dos años con ella y ha funcionado a la perfección. Cuando la puse en mi computadora se sintió de inmediato la diferencia en rendimiento. La velocidad de carga es muy rápida y el rendimiento general del sistema ha mejorado significativamente. A pesar de que Samsung son lo mejor en SSD, no son muy costosos respecto a otras marcas. Recomiendo totalmente este SSD para cualquiera que quiera actualizar de un disco duro o SSD SATA a un M.2.
