This press is great, it’s a total game changer for my herbal oils and tinctures. I’ve recovered 1/3 more liquid by using this press, I consider that a win. The press itself is quite sturdy. Other commenters have mentioned that it isn’t made of stainless, but that’s not true (at least not for the product I received). A magnet will readily stick to every single part of this press from the frame, to the pressing disk, to the cylinder containers and strainers. The pressing disk is too heavy to be aluminum anyways. My father is also a welder and he confirmed that everything is stainless. As for commenters who mentioned grease in the disk fittings - the grease is there on purpose so that the disk doesn’t rotate along with the press while you’re turning the lever. If you simply pre-filter your liquids using a cheese cloth or nut milk bag to remove as much liquid as possible, then there should be no reason (in most cases) that the disk should be submerged in liquid, therefor any grease contained above the disk cannot come into contact with your products. A c-clamp is helpful to keep it attached to a table, but I just put the press on the ground and use two feet on either side of it to keep it in place while turning the lever. The press is really easy to clean and the filtration bag that comes with it is great & reusable. It’s a slow process, since you have to turn the lever and wait for the liquid to come out, and sometimes you have to tip the press to get it all, but it works. This is a great press for the price and after only a couple uses will pay for itself in the material I’m able to recover. I’m so happy!

For the 0.8gal size (and I am pretty sure the smaller one), the bottom-press-plate that is hold onto the threaded ram by 2 set screws falls off. The set screws are not long enough. We returned and got the larger one which has a different design of that plate. The larger one has worked great so far! We have never gotten our pulp as dry as we did with this press. We will love this thing.

I like the portability of this juice press. It is perfect for small batches of jelly. Since purchasing we’ve made 150 1/2 pints of blueberry, plum and mayhaw jelly in a month’s time. The press is easy to use and easy to clean. It comes with one mesh bag that is still in very good shape. For convenience sake, we will be purchasing another bag or two just to speed up the process.

I was a bit disappointed that it did not come preassembled like at least one other one that I saw on YouTube. Lucky for me that I have a handy hubby!!! I make CBD tinctures/oils using my Magical Butter Machine!! Before I got this I was manually squeezing the filter bags and that was not fun at all and I suspect there was a fair amount of wastage. This was my first usage and when I went to tip it to drain out the bottom, the silicone tube came off and I did spill some (not much). Next time, I will remove the silicone tube and lean it like shown in the foto. I will update when I do my next “batch” so that I can compare the difference between the old filtering and this new one.

I was making juice with mine (my second time using), and as I was pouring my juice into a pitcher to drink later, I saw what I thought were small hairs in the juice. I removed one and discovered it was a metal wire shaving. I assume it came off the screw shaft or the hole the shaft passes through. I filtered the juice through an additional cloth filter and removed several more metal bits. Swallowing metal wires is no joke and can cause significant internal damage. As far as I am aware, removing wires like that requires surgery. I don't recommend messing around with this product. The metals they selected for the components clearly aren't hard enough to handle the stress of pressing juice without failing, and the failures might end up in your drink like mine did. Frankly, I'm going to be avoiding juice presses that use any kind of screw mechanism going forward. Not worth the risk.

I bought this press to squeeze the water out of my home made butter after washing the buttermilk out. It has saved me so much time and and has saved my hands as I used to squeeze it out by hand. I'm also wanting to get into cheese making and will use it for that as well. It's sturdy and the crank is smooth and easy to turn. I highly recommend this press.

I use it to squeeze liquid out of grain after wet grinding, it does a pretty good job. You would have to do multiple passes to get most of the water out. However, the base of the press is not sturdy enough, after a couple of uses, we noticed the base of the press has deformed. The impact on the functionality is probably minimal but I've seen other press designs where the base is stronger.

I was concerned as to whether this would work for me. I'm pleased to report that it works great. I used it my first time to make ricotta salata cheese and it worked great. This is my purpose for buying this and I love it. If you're a cheese maker, I recommend trying this press.
