We were gifted a Hon vertical file cabinet that the previous owner had lost the keys for. The replacement job should have only taken me 10 minutes or so, after watching a youtube video on how to replace the lock, but sadly took longer because I did not realize the bottom drawer was ever so slightly open, thus not allowing the locking mechanism to engage/disengage. Once I realized this, it was a breeze and a direct replacement for the original lock.

Didn't come with keys or inside tumbler. Couldn't use at all!

Easy peasey despite the lack of instructions. But would recommend a Video search for installation before installation. Then all the pieces and where they go will make sense. A pair of needle nose offset pliers and flat head screwdriver is all that was needed...and a flashlight. Found the keyed part was not as smooth as it could be, even after labeling with graphite. Maybe just using it more will smooth out the key insertion.

It was great to be able to install this lock on a HON four-drawer vertical file without needing to call a locksmith. Online videos made it extra-easy to install.
