As an avid indoor gardener, dealing with persistent fungus gnats had become a frustrating part of my routine — until I tried SUMMIT CHEMICAL CO Mosquito Bits. After just one use, I noticed an almost complete elimination of fungus gnats within 24 hours, which was honestly incredible considering how stubborn they had been with other treatments. The application was extremely easy. I simply sprinkled a light layer of the Mosquito Bits over the soil surface of my houseplants and lightly watered it in, just enough to activate the release of the BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis). What I really appreciate is that it’s a natural and targeted solution — it only affects mosquito larvae and fungus gnat larvae without harming my plants, pets, or beneficial insects. For larger containers or heavier infestations, I also made a “tea” by soaking the bits in water for 30 minutes and then using the solution to water my plants. This dual-application method is a huge bonus, depending on how severe the issue is. The 30oz size is generous and will easily last me through several treatments across dozens of plants. ✅ Pros: * Fast and noticeable results within 24 hours * Safe for indoor use around plants and pets * Versatile application (direct sprinkle or "mosquito bit tea") * Great value for the quantity 🔵 Minor Note: * The packaging reseals well, but using an airtight container for storage might help keep the product fresh even longer. If you’re struggling with fungus gnats attacking your houseplants, Mosquito Bits are an absolute game-changer. It's now a staple in my plant care routine. I highly recommend it to any indoor gardener looking for an easy, non-toxic, and effective solution to these annoying pests.

I got this product to get rid of fungus gnats in some of my plants (two Birds of Paradise and a Boston fern). This is not a magic product that you used it once and you see results immediately… Patience is the main key, then consistency. In my case, it took me 5 weeks to completely get rid of the fungus gnats by only using Mosquito Bits and sticky traps. Process in every watering since the beginning of the treatment: In the mornings, I soaked ~1 tablespoon in the watering can (~ 1 gallon), let sit for the amount of time I’m at work (~8hr) and then watered the plants…repeated this step once a week for 5 weeks (*you got to adapt this to your plant’s needs… my Bird of Paradise take ~7days to get thirsty again, but Fern take like ~3 days); sticky traps were change to new ones every 5 days. ** I have seen some recommendation to put the product directly to the soil, but if you have a lot of humidity or your potting mix tend to retain water or you tend to overwater your plant, I do not fully recommend it because it can create mold and/or potting mix can get stinky (been there, done that hahaha). Hopefully this would help you get rid of gnats. Happy planting, y’all

Honestly i don't know yet if it works well or not. Seems like sone days i have less noseeums and mosquitoes in my court yard. Then again living close to mangroves and a few manmade lakes, were bound to have some mosquitoes. But the worst is around 5pm till 9pm, i can't Stick out a finger because it would get bitten !! I must wait for July and Aug when the insects are at is worst. That's when I'll see if my courtyard is free of noseeums or not.

I had been dealing with a gnat infestation for months, and nothing I tried to eradicate them worked. I tried numerous sticky traps, Zevo light traps, and drying all of my plants out to death. I read on a Reddit forum that mosquito bits also work for gnats, so I gave it a try, and after about a month, all the gnats were gone. I found that the most effective method to use this product was to not only soak the bits in water for 30 min, filter, and water my plants with the filtrate, but to also mix the bits into the soil of each plant. I continued to use the sticky traps to catch the adult gnats, and the bits took care of all the larvae in the soil. I now consistently add these bits to all of my soil mixtures going forward to prevent any future infestation.

I was using this to combat fungus gnats in my houseplants. I originally used as bag suggested- 4 TBSP of bits to 1 gallon water, soaked for 30 minutes. I noticed the gnats were better but even after 4 weeks they weren’t gone. I did what another reviewer suggested and let the bits soak for 10 hours and it worked MUCH better!! After the first watering I would say the gnats were 80% better, after the second watering I stopped seeing them. I did water with this for another 2 watering just to be sure they were gone and will now probably use this for monthly maintenance. It does have a bit of an odd smell, but even using it to water my moss poles it doesn’t make my apartment smell.

Ive given 5 stars due to my experience with this team's customer service. I wasn't going to leave a review as I haven't received the product, but they've asked me to do so. It didn't take too long (all things considered during lockdown) for the product to arrive at Australian customs from the US.. I received a stern call from customs asking if I knew what was contained in the product and how it worked. I didn't, but they said it didn't matter and it would be sent to be tested in any event. So a week or so later they I receive a letter from customs relating that the product will be destroyed at customs because it contains a biological material which is banned in Australia as of July this year. So I contacted Amazon customer service about this and the seller. Both said they would aid the process so that I could receive a refund. This was done promptly. The seller was very sympathetic and helpful. Unfortunately the mosquito bits were destroyed. And I ended up moving most of my plants outside to escape the gnats.

The product arrived in good condition and within the expected time. I plan to use it to control fungus gnats in my potted indoor plants. They are a problem in the warmer weather, so I haven't used the product yet. Bit disappointed that the postage wasn't covered by my Prime membership.
