Don’t hesitate to add Self Help to your cart! I’ve been following Gabby for 15 years and I’ve read pretty much all of her books and if you’ve never read a Gabby book start with this one! The way she explains really complex parts of the self that are related to trauma and shame is easy to understand, and the processes and tools in this book are very realistic to implement…because Gabby guides you through very clearly. I’ve been reading this book and putting the principles into practice and I’m seeing results. Today a friend tried to shame me today because he made a reference to a show that I had never watched, and then he rolled his eyes when I didn’t get it. In the past my protector part would have clapped back or gotten so defensive—I took a breath and asked him for more clarity because I didn’t understand what he was talking about. And I spoke up for myself and confidently admitted I had never seen the show and told him rolling his eyes made me feel bad. This is something that in the past, I would’ve gotten really defensive about or pretended that I got the reference or beat myself up about later. Instead I remained in SELF ENERGY! I got a text later from another friend being like “wow you really stuck up for yourself without a tone, which made me realize maybe I can speak up to friends when they are minimizing me.” I told him to get Self Help by Gabby Bernstein.
I’m telling you, using the four step check in process, I am able to recognize things for what they are and have compassion for the ways my protectors have tried to protect me in the past. Overtime using this process, Gabby promises that we will start to rewire our neural pathways so that there’s a greater space between stimulus and response with how we react going forward. This book is a game changer. In fact, if you’ve never read a Gabby book start with this because this is where the work is really at because so many times my emotional reactions to things (which I’m learning are my protectors) are what get in the way of me really being me. 2025 is all about self led energy. Gabby explains the tools really well and uses great examples from her own life or lives of other people to show how the work can work. What I particularly love about this book is it has tools and methods that anyone can start to use immediately. I can’t wait to see where my life and my emotional reactions are in three months if I keep putting these tools into practice. This is the type of book that can change your life forever. Once you see yourself as a family of parts, you can heal from there! Trust me, buy it….

Self Help has replaced all the other books on my nightstand. It’s the rare combination of profound, practical, and personable. It is truly the best book I’ve read in so long. If you’re ready to change your life - start with this!!

“Self Help” is such an uplifting read! Bernstein has a knack for making self-help ideas feel relatable and easy to grasp. The way she breaks down complex concepts into bite-sized pieces keeps you engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Plus, her practical exercises and personal stories really hit home and inspire you to take action.
What I love most is her focus on positivity and self-compassion. It’s like she’s giving you a gentle nudge to embrace change rather than fear it. This book isn’t just a read; it’s more like a supportive friend cheering you on as you embark on your personal growth journey. If you're looking to make some intentional changes in your life this year, this book might just be the motivational boost you need!

I have read several of Gabrielle Bernstein's books and have never been disappointed. In fact, I've observed that with each book the content becomes better and better (all her work is excellent) and more and more relatable, it is almost as though she is evolving with her readers and she's extremely in tune with their needs. She truly knows what people are seeking in today's times. Her writing voice is gentle, informed and responsible. I've always appreciated the evidence-based references she provides, especially in this book Self Help, and its predecessor, Happy Days. She possesses an amazing ability to take complex concepts, like Internal Family Systems (covered in this book) and make it understandable, applicable, and most of all accessible to everyone. This is essential reading for all perfectly imperfect humans! I can't say enough good things about this book and all of the work that Gabrielle Bernstein does.

Gabby Bernstein’s Self Help is nothing short of life-changing. As someone who has been a devoted member of Gabby’s community for nearly a decade, I can confidently say that this is her most profound and transformative work yet. I’ve followed her journey and devoured her previous books—The Universe Has Your Back, Super Attractor, and Spirit Junkie—each of which left a lasting impact on my life. But Self Help feels like her most practical offering to date (and that is saying a lot because I am a huge fan of all of Gabby’s work)
In just two days, this book has provided me with more clarity, healing, and direction than two years of therapy ever did. Gabby has an extraordinary gift for combining spiritual wisdom with actionable steps, making the process of self-discovery and growth feel deeply empowering and accessible.
Her vulnerability, honesty, and compassion shine through every page, creating a safe space for readers to explore their own healing journeys. Whether you’re new to Gabby’s work or, like me, have been following her for years, Self Help is a must-read. It’s a powerful reminder that transformation is always possible when we’re willing to show up for ourselves.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It truly feels like a gift, and I am so grateful to Gabby for continuing to share her light and guidance with the world. If you’re ready to unlock your potential and embrace a new level of peace and purpose, Self Help is the perfect place to start.
