Takes alittle while to steam but cleaned my floors so well when it did start! Works well. Not hard to use. Not many attachments. Easy to follow instructions. Easy to clean mop heads. Good power. It is NOT recommended but I do use this mop on my unsealed laminate flooring and so far there is no floor board water retention or discoloration. You do have to push alittle so maneuvering was alittle more difficult but still is worth the effort it takes for a deep clean. My floors looked so good after using.

I've had my Shark now for over two years and it's still going strong! I was honestly nervous after receiving my steam mop because it did feel a little flimsy. However, that being said...it would be tiring to use a heavy solid mop that holds added weight in water! We decided to go with the steam for several reasons but first, because my daughter suffers from severe allergies! This mop uses no cleaners and does a much better job than a traditional mop and bucket. I also liked the "green" factor of no cleaner and washable pads. I have washed and reused the cleaning pads too many times to count and not a single one of them is showing any signs of wear!! (not counting some staining of course) Also, one of my daughters accidentally dropped my Shark down the basement stairs and cracked the plastic housing...didn't effect the mop in the least. It feels no flimsier and hasn't worsened as I've continued using it...and it doesn't leak. It's plastic...I don't blame the mop for breaking when the same daughter dropped my cast iron pan down the same stairs and that also broke ;) We have finished hardwood floors, laminate floors, tiled floors, Allure floors and oiled pine floors...this mop works wonderfully on every one of them! I've used it to remove general dirt and grime, sticky nasties, wax, crayon, marker, paint, wood stove ash residue, unidentifiable kid & pet surprises and numerous food spills all with great success! I have recommended this mop several times and will do so several more times I'm sure! The only drawback, by the way, to steam mopping is during peak humid summer weather, although the added humidity during the dry winter months is great! ;) ***UPDATE*** Sadly my Shark pocket mop finally died :( It stopped making steam after 4 years! My super handy husband popped it open and removed one tiny little part and it worked again...but only for a couple more moppings. So...after four years of using the daylights out of it I am back to buy a new mop...just an FYI in those four years we have had 8 children, 2 adults, several animals and countless house guests traipsing in and out! I did the research...I read the reviews...I compared prices. For the money...I am buying another Shark Pocket Mop! Things I've learned... I originally bought the mop with several heads. I only used the rectangular one. I have an open floor plan so if you have tight spaces the triangular head may work better for you. I didn't use the carpet attachment either...with my daughter's allergies we got rid of all our carpeting...which means our entire house is bare, steam-moppable floors...this mop gets USED! Our house is not large...28x26, two and a half levels with moppable floors with a mostly open floor plan. The cord reached every area from one central outlet.**UPDATE** The cord on the new mop is shorter than the old one. I was disappointed, but it still mops the same...only now I have to move the plug to more than one outlet...not a deal-breaker for me** I also never had to buy replacement pads in the four years I've owned them! They are no longer white...but they still work beautifully! I occasionally tried the big purple fluffy pad that came with mine but I wasn't totally thrilled with it...maybe because it took longer to wet enough to clean with...admittedly I just want to get mopped and be done ASAP. If I came across an especially hard spot to get clean I simply (with shoes on!) stepped on the head and applied pressure and steam for several seconds and rarely had anything not come up...even cooled candle wax :) Most other mops don't look like you could step on the head without damaging it. By far my favorite feature is the reversible mopping surface! I mop half of one level (it actually could do more) then simply flip the mop over to mop the rest with the clean side! LOVE that! No changing scalding hot pads part way through a mop job or waiting for it to cool down enough to change it! I also got one level done on one tank of water with some left over :) AND...even though it said to use distilled water I never did....I used straight well water from the tap...and we have high iron in our water. I am most definitely a fan...especially for a price that's nearly half of many of the other steam mops out there! I am sorry that some other reviewers did not have the same experience I have had. I understand that this is an electronic appliance. My new one may have a manufacturing flaw that my old one didn't. You will get that with ANY electronic device...some will be flawless...others DOA. A definite pain, but for this mop, in my opinion...well worth the risk :) FOUR years...and 3 months to be exact! I totally got my money's worth!

I needed a new steam mop as my old one had called it quits. I wanted something not too high on the price point, but also a trusted brand. All I needed was a basic steam mop, so this one fit the overall bill. So far after having it for a number of months it is working very well. The tank size is good enough for my kitchen, bathroom and hardwood floors in the living room and hallway, but we have a relatively small to medium-sized space. The amount of steam it produces is acceptable, and the pads that come with it attach firmly to the base and wash well. The only complaint I have is the tank is really annoying to remove. You have to tilt it a little before you pull it out, and even that isn't a perfect method. Other than that I have no complaints, and I hope it lasts!

Honestly, I was a bit skeptical that a $50 steam cleaner would be any good. Many list for 4-5X that much. I was wrong, this heats fast, dispenses a good shot of steam and is ideal if you want to do a deep clean of hardwood floors once or twice a year. If you are constantly steaming a very large area, then you would likely want a heavier duty cleaner with a bigger water reservoir, etc. If you have a normal sized house and use it occasionally, this is a great deal. It's also fairly small to store when not being used. Overall for my purpose, it's the ideal tool.

don't normally write reviews but Ohh My! great performance! especially for the price. I can't afford to buy a wicked expensive professional high end steamer, so went for this. I did 4 rooms rinsing/hand washing the pad in between rooms. time consuming for first run but wanted to do it right as the directions instructed. tip.. take yr time with patience. a small area at a time, moving the mop slow, pumping the handle for good steam. as instructed go over the area numerous times (per directions 15 strokes), slowly. I broke it down to smaller patches of floor at a time. took a lot of breaks so I had patience. after the steam cleaning I mopped all the floors with my swiffer (reusable cloth pad) n pine sol to test how dirty the swiffer pad got as opposed to normally. huge difference! barely dirty swiffer pad, indicating the steam mop did the job. tested out barefoot & my floors feel soo smoothe n clean! also my house is high traffic from people and PETS. even with cleaning regularly the mop pad got verry dirty, i know it took a lot of dirt off the floors that normal cleaning just dont achieve. made a HUGE differences to crevices & edges where grime builds up. note: over time the floors will get even cleaner, can't expect perfection one round with built up dirt that hasn't been thoroughly cleaned by normal mopping. as time goes by can probably lighten up with the time spent & the repetitions. is plastic but thats a great thing, is light making it very easy to keep going! Just be careful not to bang it up or toss it around. reaches under furniture items great! manuevers with ease in all directions. wish the water reservoir was bigger had to refill several times, however as I said I took my time going over all areas numerous times, pumping out lots of steam. I will probably thoroughly steam mop the floors periodically, in between do normal mopping. have a new ceramic tile bathroom floor that per the instructions, I did not use the steam mop. if it's not coated or sealed it can discolor the ceramic. read all the directions. the cord is frustrating, in the way. i hold it up as i mop but for the price and performance i can deal with that. don't hesitate my house feels so clean n sanitized!

I used it right away and it works like my old one. I hope it keeps on working as good as the old one. It is light, steams quickly, cleans great and easy for me to use.

I have to say my method of cleaning the kitchen floor is to wrap a wet j-cloth round a broom and go over the floor with it. Housework isn't my forte. But my husband loves this gadget, and it seems to give him great pleasure to clean the kitchen floor with it, even when it doesn't need doing. Actually the mop thing seems to remove a good deal of invisible dirt, so obviously it needs doing more than I thought. The floor dries quickly, and you just throw the mop thing in the washing machine. Job done! As long as I don't have to do it. Edit: Having read the other reviews, I looked closer at the gadget, and it is true that you have to add a UK adaptor for the machine to work. Personally I would take a star off for this, but as I say, my husband loves it, and as he is the one who uses it, what can I say?

This is a well designed piece of equipment. It is light, easy to use. Today is the second time I used it and did not need the instructions, because everything about it makes sense. I have tile and laminate flooring and need only to use the low steam setting. It is easy to fill with water; it takes about two fillings to do my floors (a larger area may take more, but the unit is easy to turn on and off). The steam starts very quickly once it is turned on. The dirt grip pad goes on very easily and can be flipped when one side gets dirty. The head swivels easily for maneuverability and goes under furniture including the bed. The tiles are shiny and clean when I am done. The handheld steamer is firmly attached, but detaches easily. I used the handheld steamer with the small attachment to clean the stainless steel and glass front of my microwave and gas stove. I also tried out the clothes steam and it works well too. The electrical cord is a great length and I am learning to manage it and hold it out of the way so I don't get tangled up in it. I appreciate the electric power, however, and wouldn't trade it for a batter operated unit. Extra dirt grip pads can be purchased, but the one that comes with the unit can be scrubbed up clean as new. I would recommend it for its lightness, ease of use and effectiveness.

I've purchased this Shark S3973 for my wife in Singapore. Though the Seller replied the voltage is 210v, it is not. It is 110v. So I have to return it. And the factory box is not even sealed, so there is little trust in the content. Another problem is shipping in Singapore. Many products are simply shipped in the Manufacturer's box packaging, which is typically dirty or slightly damaged, with the DHL labels slapped right onto the box. This is generally unacceptable and very unprofessional, unlike in America whereby all products are shipped in an additional Amazon box with additional protective materials. I believe Amazon Singapore must do better to grow in Asia.

con el Shark la boquilla esta mucho mas limpio. Tengo un perro y cuando ella toma agua la mitad sale la boca y deja manchas en la boquilla. El Shark limpia la boquilla y todo el piso es mejor.
