I played violin as a kid but stopped after high school. Recently I started playing again. I still have my old violin but I have no idea where my tuner went. I was going to stop by my local music store but thought I would check Amazon to see what they have first. Well I’m glad I did because they have a lot of them that you can choose from. This is the one I settled for. The price is decent and it had many good reviews. It doesn’t come with any detailed instructions but I thought its pretty straightforward. You just clip it onto your instrument. Turn it on and you can start adjusting the tuner with a string. It’s very very simple. I live with a few noisy roommates however so I’ll usually do it with my musicians ear plugs in (found them here on Amazon as well). I really like the display. It’s a good size and very easy to read. It also comes with a mini bag that you can use to store the tuner. It’s what I put it in when I’m not using it, that way I know for sure it’s not collecting dust. I’ve been using the tuner on and off for several weeks now and it’s still going strong. From what I understand, the batteries are generally good for many months so I don’t think I’ll have to switch them anytime soon. My only issue is that it seems kind of delicate. The entire device is pretty much plastic…but I guess I can’t expect that much for the price. It does what it’s supposed to do though so I guess that’s all that matters. Hopefully it will last me long enough. I’m thinking that if I’m careful and don’t drop it on the ground it will be fine. Still I am very happy with it. It’s accurate enough for my purposes (though I’m not a professional tuner or anything).

I loved my old Snark tuner, but it was covered in a grippy rubberized coating that in hot, humid Taiwan became sticky after several years. I had to replace it a couple years ago, and got a smooth plastic one that didn't have the same problem. Excellent tuner, easy to clip onto my guitar's head; the Snark head swivels conveniently, it's easy to use, accurate, and runs forever on just one battery. Neither tuner ever stopped functioning (the first lasted at least 11 years, with only one battery change, and was still functioning at around 12 years when I tossed it due to the stickiness). CON: the upper rubber foot OFTEN fell off the 2nd one (contact cement failed to solve it, but cyanoacrylate (SuperGlue) seems to be working now, having held for six weeks so far.) The rubber foot (part of the lining of the clip so it doesn't damage the guitar's finish) was heat and humidity resistant, and never turned sticky on either of them despite the very high humidity and heat here. I've just bought a 3rd for my sons and will report back on whether the rubber foot now stays on better, after using it for a while. LOVE these Snarks!!!

My guitar buddies had been using these tuners so I had to try one. I've been playing bass for over fifty years now and this tuner has definitely made it easier to tune up. They do work much better on guitar than they do for bass. Mine seems to pick up ambient sound making it harder to tune up, so I have to get the guys around me to stop playing while I try to use this tuner. That being said, it is still much easier than plugging in to a hand held tuner...Yes I know I can buy a tuner that plugs in inline to my amp but I don't use any effects and I don't like having things on the floor onstage. The clip on tuner isn't the nicest looking thing to have on your instrument so I only clip it on when I need it. I think bass players may have just a little bit of a problem using this tuner but it's ease of use and compact size make it a worth while tool to keep your case. I would give this a four and a half stars if I could.

The Snark SN5X Clip-On Tuner for Guitar, Bass, & Violin is something I've been using for a while, and I'm really impressed. It's accurate, dependable, and simple to use. Simply attach the tuner to your instrument's headstock, then pull a string to utilize it. The tuner will instantly determine the string's pitch and indicate whether it is sharp, flat, or in tune. Even in low light, the display is clear and simple to read. The SN5X is pretty accurate, in my experience. It has a high threshold for pitch alterations and can tune even the lowest bass guitar strings. It is also highly resilient, in my experience. It is constructed from durable materials and can resist the demands of frequent use. The SN5X's versatility is one of the features I like the best. Numerous instruments, including guitars, basses, violins, and mandolins, can be tuned using it. It is a fantastic option for musicians that play various instruments because of this. Overall, the Snark SN5X Clip-On Tuner for Guitar, Bass & Violin comes highly recommended. It offers excellent value for the money and is an essential instrument for musicians. I've utilized the SN5X in my own musical life in the following ways, to give you some examples: 1. I tune my guitar using it before every performance or practice session. I can quickly and easily use it to quickly tune my guitar. 2. The SN5X is also used by me to tune my bass guitar. I like that it can tune the low B string because it has a wide sensing range. 3. I've also tuned my violin with the SN5X. When I'm playing in a noisy setting, it's a terrific way to quickly and easily get my violin in tune. The Snark SN5X Clip-On Tuner for Guitar, Bass & Violin has generally satisfied me. It's a fantastic all-purpose tuner that is user-friendly, precise, and long-lasting.

Muy bueno, práctico y fácil de usar. La pantalla se ve muy bien y clara, quizá no se vea de un material muy fuerte pero es resistente y muy bien realizado. Respecto a la precisión también es muy bueno, lo comparé con el de mi hx stomp y me convenció mucho.

This tuner is great for my violin. It's very accurate and easy to use. It easily clips on the headstock of the violin. This tuner does not use batteries and is rechargeable. It keeps its charge for an appropriate length of time.

Ich mache es kurz: Kein Schnick und Schnack dran, tolles, kontrastreiches Display. Läßt sich gut anklemmen und in alle Richtungen bewegen. Für mich perfekt und klare Empfehlung. Ist nach dem Auspacken etwas glatt/schlüpfrig (dort wo man die Klemme bewegt) und flutscht einem leicht aus den Fingern. Dies legt sich jedoch im Laufe der Zeit.
