Okay, first off -- I have very low expectations of products such as these. Often made cheaply overseas, I expect them to NOT work as described, run like a lame horse and eventually be hauled to our local landfill station for recycling into their next life as a piece of reusable rubbish. Well ... miracles still happen. The SnowJoe is the real deal. I held off writing this review until given the opportunity to beat the living heck out of it. After eight snowstorms here in northern New England, and putting SJ to use after every single one, I feel I can safely say to you that this is a durable unit that does what it claims. Yes, if there is more than six-to-eight inches of snow, expect to move slow with it and take a few swipes where the piles are higher. Otherwise, load up on an extra twelve-pack. We have a 500-square foot triple-level deck out back of the house. It was a wITCH to shovel, believe it. Not with SJ -- on the first go, the first use, I had the deck done in 15 minutes and was standing next to the fire, holding a cold root beer and smiling at the wife. Marital bliss comes in many forms! The unit is powerful and hurls the snow a good twenty feet with no problem. Once you get used to directing the discharge, the son-of-a-gun is kind of fun to operate. It is almost like sweeping off the walkway. It was easy to put together and I opted to go with the supplied battery. So far, so good. The battery holds a charge for a good 25 minutes before needing a recharge. I start snow clearing with SJ, let it run its course, plug the battery in for a charge, stop for a Coors Light in the garage (the official beer of snow removal), go out front and use the Husqvarna ST224 snow thrower (not an endorsement, it just sounded funny to mention the product name), then fix up the SJ to clear the front walkway. The wife is smiling. I'm a happy MFer and the world is right. Go SnowJoe! Well done! Thank you.

I live in Castle Rock, Colorado. It snows a lot here. Although I have a pretty powerful snow blower, like me, it is getting old and sometimes hard to start and to keep running. On those occasions, I have been relying on my good old snow shovel and personal stamina. At 69 years old this task is not getting any easier; however, it does help me stay in shape and gives me some exercise time burning calories that I monitor on my iWatch program when I feel the need to brag. The other day, I noticed a young man using a battery operated snow shovel that looked pretty neat and struck up a conversation with him. He said he loved the machine, but wish he would have bought an extra battery because he sometimes forgets to charge the battery and ends up pulling out the trusty shovel. I took his advice to heart and bought both this snow shovel and the extra battery in an effort to eliminate the trusty old shovel when the powerhouse snow blower in on the blink. I am glad I did because the battery pooped out before I finished the job on my first use before the second battery arrived and it takes 3.4 hours to recharge the battery. At only 11 pounds and a 7-inch path, this product makes it easy to remove snow from steps, porches, patios, decks and walkways, but it is not a snow blower. It works like a snow blower; however, in deep snow, you have to remove the snow in layers. It will stop if the blades get more than about 7 inches in the blade. It does blow the snow quite a distance and is much faster and easier than a regular shovel. I got a pretty good workout in my arms and shoulders the last time I used it because I had to shave off several layers of deep snow. Reading the safety instructions are a must before using this product. Rocks can become lodged in blades. In those cases, users must be mindful to remove the battery and wait for several seconds before putting fingers or tools to remove whatever is stuck in the blades. This is a powerful product that could easily amputate fingers of careless users. Additionally, the blade is made of durable plastic; however, unlike a steel blade snow blower, the concrete could eventually grind down the blade. Further, this product does not remove ice and does leave a little bit of remnant snow on the driveway and sidewalks that quickly melts in the sun. Unfortunately, I live on the south side (shaded) of the street where it takes longer to melt. Overall, I am very pleased with the utility of this product and it is well worth the price for me. Please use it safely and do yourself a favor and buy a second battery. Enjoy!

I got this in 2022 and finally got the chance to try out on over an inch of snow and it did not disappoint! It throws the snow surprisingly far, works like a vacuum cleaner and is about the same weight! My back is thrilled! The battery lasted long enough to do my walk and driveway and then clean up the mess I made clearing my car.

Click to play video At first I didn’t think that this would move snow at all like a snow blower. It is priced low and since we have been getting a lot more snow thin usually, I bought it. Now let me tell you that after first use, I was mind blown at how well it works. I already have some 24v sunjoe battery’s for there lawnmower and leaf blower making it a good choice. It comes with a 5ah battery that will give you about 1 hour of heavy use or 1.5 hours of light duty. There is only two things I dislike about it. One is that if your sidewalk or driveway has any plants or cracks in them it like to jam a little in them. Also, to get it to work really well you have to lean it back a little “lower the handle”. I am 6’1” and I feel like I’m bent over more than I would like. Even with that, I am glad that I bought it. If the snow is deep, just do two or three passes. Easy to use and more fun then shoveling. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent service from Amazon and the Snow Joe snow shovel is amazing. Shovelled my 300 sq ft deck, stairs, sidewalk, double driveway, and two neighbours driveways in 25 minutes, 2" of snow. Easy to assemble, took no time at all, small box for storage. Sure beats using a standard shovel. I'm a 72 year old woman and going strong.

I have arthritis so was hoping this machine would help...so far it works great , the battery last long enough to get job done..but for me I found it very heavy ,so it would be better if it had some wheels to help manoeuver it . I saw on a few other reviews that putting it together was hard as the wire is to long ,and they recommended that you tear it apart in order to assemble ..well this from a woman...it took me 5 minutes to assemble..attach lower end first then take the handle and keep twisting it in a circle till the wire shortens enough to fit the rest of the handle together...I would certainly recommend this great little thrower..
