I think I have been using cheaper fish sauce, the brineiness in this one is pronounced and I'm good with a smaller amount. With such a bit bottle (2-3x the smaller ones) it's going to last a while. Good umami, test it out with a bit before using more. I wish the bottle was a bit more burly, good ingredients.

Very tasty fish sauce, I’m used to Red Boat and this brand doesn’t disappoint in flavor

Review for "Soeos Fish Sauce, 16.9 fl oz (500ml), Savory Flavor, Thai Fish Sauce for Cooking" I just used this fish sauce in a dish. This is good sauce. Two things I like about this sauce: 1. Good for cooking and marinade 2. Intense salty fishy flavor Cons & Removal of 2 stars: 1. There is sugar in the ingredients, the fish sauce I normally use doesn't have any sugar. 2. The price of this bottle is expensive compared to visiting an American grocery store, note I did not say Asian grocery store where the price would be even cheaper. 3. Made in China w/ cheapy plastic bottle There are better options if you're willing to shop, but if your are curious this fish sauce does work. I did not taste the sugar, and I am not sure why sugar is an ingredient. I am glad they removed the vegan claims, as fish sauce has never been vegan, and never will be. If they can work on bringing the price down this would be okay to have in the pantry. Bottle says "Made in China."

This bottle of Soeos Fish Sauce was real easy to open. It had a tab on the top of the cap that you use to pull down to unseal it. Much easier than needing to cut it. I have used different brands of fish sauce in recipes before. This tastes like them, but this bottle has a much stronger fishy smell to it. I’m not sure if it’s because the bottle contains so much more product. Cost per ounce, this sells for a good price. The sauce is a bit more liquidy than I’m used to, and with the stronger smell - I may have a bit more difficult time using it.

This Soeos Fish Sauce is super flavorful, and slightly thicker than other fish sauces that I have tried. The aroma is quite intense as well, so when you use this to cook or as a condiment, you have to be prepared for the aroma. It is also super salty as these kinds of sauces tend to be, and it comes in a plastic bottle. This fish sauce is a nice and easy way to add umami vibes to a meal.

This fish sauce is a much darker deeper color than the brand I usually buy. The flavor is salty, filled with umami, and just a tiny hint of sweet on the backend. I appreciate that it's low in calories. Comes in a plastic bottle, I do wish it were packaged in glass instead. I also wish the top had more of a pour spout or the type of top where you shake out the liquid instead of just being an open pour. Overall it is a tasty fish sauce, not my favorite but definitely will get consumed and I plan to finish the whole bottle.

This is strong and salty, a teaspoon is 63% of daily sodium limit so it doesn't take much and other salt can be left out of the dish. I used some to make a shrimp and rice dish which brought it all together nicely.

The Soeos Fish Sauce has a very strong and very authentic fish sauce flavor. The fish sauce is very savory, making it a great sauce for cooking or creating tasty dressings and marinades. However if you are not familiar with the flavor, I will recommend it test it first,. since the flavor is really strong (Fish).

Fish sauce, Is known as NAM PLA, is a staple in my Every day cooking not only for South Asian recipes but the secret ingredient which gives umami flavor to pasta sauce, marinade, and even egg dishes. Here is my take on this sauce versus my favorite squid brand. ✔️Smell:Squid brand is strong fermented right off opening the bottle, More pleasant this one ✔️Colour: S brand =darker in colour, This is Pale and less strong. The S brand is a little bit cloudy and can have sediment. ✔️ Price : able to get the squid brand at the Asian grocery stores for $5 or less, this is more expensive. ✔️Ingredients: S brand has ingredients in the following order anchovy salt sugar.: This brand: anchovy salt water and sugar ✔️Consistency: S brand is easy pour, this I found was a bit more watery ✔️ Packaging: I am able to buy the S brand in a glass bottle and Oregon a plastic bottle this brand came in only a plastic bottle perhaps for easy shipping. ✔️ Origin, squid brand is made in Thailand, this brand is made in China Overall summary I preferred the S brand for adding depth, it is savory and briny this brand is used by us for recipes which require less salt and more of an underlying secret flavor and not the traditional strong fishy aroma. S brand indeed is overwhelmingly salty. This one hides better with nontraditional SE Asian dishes like pasta sauce or egg and tofu scrambles or salad dressings even. 💪 My personal tips: start less, small quantities, using any brand as the saltiness is potent as well as the aroma. For marinade , combine it with lime juice Brown sugar and chilli. For soups and broths add as a finishing touch to balance the salt and add richness. Dipping: sauce sugar and sesame oil works great in equal quantities, same for stir fries ginger garlic and soya sauce and this. Make sure watch out for the saltiness before serving.Sharing is caring. I hope you enjoyed my share.

A lot of umami flavour with this. It is a bity salty though. It has no bad fishy flavour. I sometimes add it to soup or use a dipping sauce. Look up nuoc cham which is great for dipping and uses fish sauce as this base. This is good fish sauce, not sure if it's premium but it does taste identical to all the other fish sauces I have used

I use fish sauce pretty regularly in my cooking, but I’ve never really thought about the difference between lower-quality grocery store versions and premium options. When I compared the ingredients of this premium fish sauce to the brand I already had, I noticed a subtle but important difference: the grocery store version uses “anchovy extract,” while this one lists “anchovy (fish)” as its main ingredient. That simple distinction points to a higher-quality product. Visually, both sauces are similar, with a clear amber colour. The surprising part is that while the store-bought version contains more sodium per tablespoon, the premium one tastes much saltier. I’m glad I did a taste test before tossing it into a recipe. I ended up cutting the amount in half, and it still packed plenty of flavour. Because fish sauce is more of a background flavour in most recipes I make, I didn’t notice a dramatic difference in the final dish, but this premium sauce does seem to have a cleaner, more intense flavour compared to the grocery store brand. If you’re like me and tend to use fish sauce sparingly, upgrading to one with better ingredients might be worth it—especially if you’ve been holding onto that bottle of "anchovy extract" sauce, like I have, for a little too long.

Very similar to the popular Viet Huong fish sauce. Both has a great umami salty flavour to it. I typically use it for dipping for seafood like shrimp, crab, or jellyfish for that extra hit. They have pretty much identical flavour profiles so if you have tried Viet Huong and like it, you'll probably like this as well.

While we don't use fish sauce often, over the years, we have tried several varieties and settled on a couple. We buy these at the import shops and have never been disappointed. They, too, are salty but to the level of this brand. The fish flavour is ok, not over the top while definitely offering some taste. We've used it in a couple of creations and both my wife and I weren't thrilled with the results. I do like that the ingredients list is short, and while other brands we have used have no sugar, the taste here isn't overly sweet. So, for us, this is not a repeat order item. Others may, and probably do, like the taste, but as with most food items, not everything is for everyone. Have one more thing I want to try, going to give it one more try, make a marinade with some of it added and see if that's maybe a better use for the rest of the bottle. The expiry on my bottle shows Oct 2026. For storage, the bottle simply suggests keeping it in a cool, dry area, no need to refrigerate.
