I was very surprised to open the shipping box and see another box in which the jug of wine is packed in! What a nice touch, instead of the jug sitting in the Amazon box as is. This little touch makes me want to order this cooking wine again because it shows me that the manufacturer respects its customers by securing their cooking wine in a very sturdy and nicely printed box to keep the product safe. I’m excited to cook with this wine too.

Shaoxing cooking wine is a must to alleviate the taste and flavour of cooking. I have even converted friends to this rich flavour enhancer that is even awesome to up a simple red meat sauce for pasta !!! This particular is great value for its quantity and fantastic for its quality !!!

There are many better Shaoxing options out there but availability and price are the reason I use this one. It is the larger bottle which is good because I use it often. It is also a little sweeter than others and although some of the more floral and intricate aspects of better ones may not be the same in this, it does to much of it. It also a little saltier than others. Soeos has many good and reliable products most of which are fairly priced for decent and consistent quality.

I do not like cooking wine, but I love Seoes Shaoxing so much it’s part of my subscribe and save list. It works with all types of cooking, not just Asian. It is great in bean soups, in gravy, mixed with chicken stock, soy sauce and sambal, it makes the best lazy ramen broth ever. I used to buy the smaller, glass bottles, but this is a much better value.
