Where to start? These are the most advanced headphones I have ever used. The noise cancellation is incredible. When mowing the lawn I can barely tell if the lawnmower is running. It helps when meditating to get rid of the background noises and just sit in silence. The battery lasts forever. It doesn't feel too bulky on the head. The case leaves a little to be desired, the flap to hold the 3.5 mm adapter is flimsy and falls open with a weak magnetic closure, the case overall feels cheap, but the headphones themselves are high quality. I would hope for a better case in the next iteration but overall these are still the cream of the crop.

I am frequently on online meetings so I need good headphones with noise cancellation to keep the surrounding sound down. These headphones work so well people have to wave their hands in front of my face to get my attention.

Amazing sound! The noise cancelling is the best.

One of the best headphones I have used when it comes to noise cancellation. One thing I hate is that fingerprints are hard to clean. Other thing is the app in iPhone sometimes will not work well. You have to turn off and turn on the headphones to connect to the app; the audio will still work with the last device connected, but if you want to use some other features you need the app.

Some headphone brands focus on quality, or comfort or battery life; Well Sony has knocked it out of the park with these with fast charging, Uber comfy pads, extremely long battery life, great sound quality and some of the best noise cancelling out there. I owned the XM 4s and loved them, but they were chewed up by a small dog, which is the only reason they needed replacement, even after 4 years of extreme use( for reference I listened to 126,087 minutes on Spotify in 2022). These headphones, if taken care of could easily last a decade no doubt, and I have used them without complaint every day since I got them.

When I first saw these headphones on sale, I was excited and watched all sorts of video reviews on them and they looked solid. I got a pair and they were working fine for about 2 months and then they suddently stopped charging and turning on. I've tried countless chargers, ways of charging, and I tried cleaning the charging port... nothing. When I got in contact with sony, they told me Amazon has it listed as an international product and the US warranty doesn't cover it and they told me to contact amazon. Amazon was no help aswell. DO NOT BUY

I bought this for my boyfriend's gift! He loves this so much and uses it every single day!

What’s expected

Sound quality same as Bose headphones, better ANC. You will need a headband cushion if you are going to wear this more than a few hours a day. I didn't need a cushion for my Bose. Cushion e.g. like Earmor headset cover.

Exceptional quality. Comfortable even with glasses. Noise cancellation is great. Software features are very cool as well. Easily switchs between devices and connects to 2 simultaneously. I would highly recommend.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones are absolutely phenomenal if you’re looking for top-tier quality and don’t mind the higher price tag. Pros: Exceptional sound quality: The audio is crystal clear, with great depth and balance. These headphones truly deliver a premium listening experience. Phenomenal noise cancellation (ANC): The ANC is incredible! I was at the gym when an alarm went off, but with these on, it was just a mild background noise instead of an ear-piercing sound. Perfect for loud environments. Comfortable fit: They’re very comfortable on my head for long listening sessions. However, I wouldn’t recommend lying down sideways with them on, as the ear cushions aren’t designed for heavy weight. Excellent battery life: I’ve been consistently getting close to the stated 25-30 hours, which is fantastic for long stretches of use. Dual-device connection: The ability to connect to two devices simultaneously is a game-changer! I use them for work calls and still have them paired to my phone, which makes switching between tasks seamless. Premium carrying case: The case feels durable and well-made, offering great protection for the headphones when not in use. Additional features: There are features like 360 Reality Audio that I haven’t explored yet, but honestly, these headphones already do everything I need perfectly. Overall, these headphones are worth every penny if you can afford them. Comfortable, packed with features, and superb in both sound and noise cancellation. Highly recommended!
