I actually ordered this to use in vacuuming all of the ash out of my pellet grill since it is a smaller size than my shop vac that I grew weary of hauling up/down the stairs each time. Let me just say, this was a fantastic choice since it does the job admirably. I also use it to clean the ashes in my wood burning stove. At no time do I vacuum hot ashes, but I am sure this thing could if I removed the cloth filter. For my purposes, this is the right size and is quality built so, I expect it to last for many years.

Disappointed isn’t a word to describe my opinion of this particular ash vacuum. Suction is terrible. Nothing else to say except buy something different.

I used this one time had it on for 2 minutes and it just shut down, wont power on, Got a refund in the works. (EDITED) After reading the trouble shooting pages. I let my vac cool off and its restarted. I think it has a safety where if you pick up ash that is hot it will shut down to protect the vac. I have since given this 5 stars because I have used it flawlessly about 8 times since and it works great. I had a return form printed out and ready to send back. I am glad I kept it. Its a great heavy duty canister and I love the extra filer screen it keeps my main filter clean from dust, which is very hard to do with ash.. So 5 STARS !!

I am using this as a portable on job sites although it is specifically for fireplace ash. The size is perfect and it is very well constructed. The filtration system works very well. My usual shop vacs are more powerful but this so far seems more than adequate for clean up.

Ok suction… not great. Used to clean pellet stove and worked but took a while as suction quickly slows once ash is introduced into the filter.

Definitely get an ash vacuum. For years I used a regular whop vac with a fine filter but they plug up and blow soot around the room. This ash vacuummaintains flow and filters out everything. Fantastic!

J'ai acheté cet aspirateur pour les cendres mais ça fonctionne comme un aspirateur normal! J'ai aspiré les cendres tièdes et les filtre et sac à filtre ont brulé! Je ne m'attendais pas à ça pour un aspirateur qui est fait pour ça! L'aspirateur expire plein des cendres dans l'air quand est utilisé, très déçu.
