he Summit Universal Backpack Harness has made a noticeable difference in how comfortable it is to carry my tree stand. It’s designed to work with various stands—I use it with a Summit Viper—and it fits well. The padded shoulder straps and base distribute the weight evenly across my back and shoulders, which reduces strain compared to the standard straps I used before. On a recent two-mile hike to my hunting spot, I found it much easier to carry my stand without the usual discomfort, I would normally be struggling but it was like I had a normal pack on. The harness also has neoprene-covered buckles that keep noise down while moving through the woods. It’s a practical upgrade that improves the overall experience of transporting a tree stand. For anyone looking to make carrying their stand more comfortable, this is a solid choice.

The straps that came with the climber were not comfortable but these make it easy to carry all day long if needed. You will not even know the climber is on you its so comfortable. Adjust it before you go out, try it and them readjust as you need it, when you have it good you will be ready to walk with it for miles without knowing its there.

It took me a few minutes and trial and error while studying the pictures to get this mounted on my deer stand. Once I figured it out, it is easy to use and makes carrying the stand more comfortable. This will work on most any climbing stand.

It was very easy installing this product on my climbing stand and it’s comfortable compared to what I used to have! It’s a night and day difference and it makes taking my climber stand out to the woods so easy! The quality of the straps is very good and the durability as well.

I paired this with my Summit Viper climber stand. The standard straps that come with any Summit climber leave a lot to be desired. Part of their business is making money with add on parts (footrest, bow holder, etc.). This is no different. A friend that hikes a lot of public land during hunting season recommended XOP straps. Those are very nice but slightly more expensive. My climber is relatively light but one thing I’ve refused to swap out is the oh-so-comfortable Summit seat. I do a lot of all day sits during the rut so I’m not ready to commit to a “net style” seat just yet. As such, my climber can be a bit cumbersome to nest and un-nest in the dark due to this new Summit strap system. I have to unclip 4 of the 6 tether points to get setup or pack up. I’m getting more proficient each time I do it. Overall, I don’t mind the extra trouble since the clips are quiet and I’ve sound-deadened my climber. But it’s worth pointing out if you are considering this product. Good luck in the woods to all my fellow hunters! 🦌 🏹
