Lots of good info for healing the gut. The correct strains matter. Yogurt making directions are very good. Highly recommended.

After pneumonia last winter and four rounds of antibiotics, my gut was ruined. I tried to restart a ketogenic diet I had previously done successfully but could not digest the fats. This book makes sense. I learned a lot. I am currently doing the SIBO eradication and four week gut repopulation plan. Everything is explained so that it could be understood. The plan is not easy - you have to spend $250 for supplements, make your own yogurt etc. (He tells you where you can get everything.) But it will be well worth it. I am changing my diet for life based on what I learned in this book.

Good information in regards to your gut and how microbes work within your gut . The recipes are very helpful as well. I have made the super gut yogurt has a very good flavor and i love to add it to organic rolled oats and dried goji berries or sometimes I use blueberries with 1/2 teaspoon of honey or pure maple syrup then I let it sit on the counter for 2 to 3 hours and it makes the best tasting snack. I'm happy that I got the book because Dr. Davis goes into why you need those microbes and what it will do for you.

I adore this book and keep rereading it! I am on week one of the program but honestly I would have bought the book just for the clove green tea recipe. I have had dry mouth issues for years and this tea has helped so much with my mucus production! This book is a little lofty with terms sometimes but I really enjoy it. All chapters were easy to understand overall and the information is priceless!

Really enjoyed the book. But would like the preface the book comes off a little to dramatic IMHO. I referenced one part of the book with a family member that is a radiologist and they said it isn't nearly as numerous as the part he mentions (fecalization), but it does happen. That being said, we all do need to work on our guts, which affect the whole body.
Really like that he provides a lot of steps, information and recipes to use on the journey to recover your gut microbiome. Been making lot of super 'yogurts' with my new Ultimate Yogurt Maker, eating and making fermented foods and other ideas he suggest. Already in good shape and health for the most part, so probably not going to see anything dramatic in my case. But if want to stay healthy as get even older, need to do this!
It's not like the Food Industry or FDA is going help us. This is something YOU have to do and they are fighting you all the way with enticing ads and products to hit you in the weak spots. This book, even though a little over the top, is a great way to start.

I got this book months ago, my husband and I have been having the yogurt, it’s great! Makes us feel great! Just like the book says. I also bought the oils and the teas it recommends. My gut is much happier.

This is probably the definitive data on how our guts actually work and why we need for them to be fully functional to have good health naturally. It's all the details about that area of the body that should have been part of our education and never was.
I have started following Dr. Davis's suggestions and already I can tell my body is functioning better and will continue to do so.

SUPER GUT
William Davis, MD
Review by Author Roy Murry
I am less than a layperson when it comes to doctoring. I do not like or take medical pills unless I am forced to - like gummies.
Doctor Davis’s gut microbiome solutions, self-made yogurts, and fermented foods improve your SIBO/SIFO (Intestinal Overgrowths). These explanations are complicated diets, i.e., one item must reach 106F to be used.
If he titled the book DIET FOR A SUPER GUT, it would not sell. He gives the diet at the end of the book after an extended eight-chapter analog of how our stomach and intestines function, which only a medical student can understand.
Although Dr. Davis writes clearly and sometimes funny, he takes too long to get to the book's main point: selling his distinct yogurt and diet. If you have one of the SIBO or SIFO illnesses, I recommend his fixes. If not, save the dime.

The book Super Gut highlights numerous benefits of Lactobacillus reuteri (L. reuteri) based on its role in restoring gut health and promoting overall well-being.
Key Benefits Outlined by Dr. Davis:
Enhanced Skin Health and Appearance
Stimulates the release of oxytocin, known as the "love hormone," which can improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles.
Helps combat skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, and eczema.
Boosted Emotional Well-being
Oxytocin production contributes to feelings of calmness, trust, and emotional resilience.
Reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety, supporting mental health.
Improved Sleep Quality
Promotes deeper, more restorative sleep through its calming effects on the nervous system.
Increased Muscle and Bone Strength
Enhances muscle regeneration and strength due to the effects of oxytocin.
Supports bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
Appetite Regulation and Weight Management
Helps control appetite by reducing cravings and encouraging healthier eating habits.
Supports weight loss through improved metabolic function.
Immune System Boost
Strengthens the immune system by enhancing the gut barrier and promoting beneficial bacteria.
Reduces inflammation and helps prevent infections.
Improved Gut Function
Restores balance to the microbiome, addressing issues like leaky gut syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Promotes the production of beneficial short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs).
Enhanced Hormonal Health
Reduces gut-derived inflammation, supporting thyroid function.
May positively influence testosterone and estrogen balance.
Anti-Aging Effects
Slows down aging processes by boosting oxytocin and reducing inflammation.
Supports overall longevity.
Prevention of Chronic Conditions
Reduces the risk of metabolic diseases, cardiovascular issues, and autoimmune disorders through its anti-inflammatory properties.
Practical Application
Dr. Davis advocates for making homemade yogurt with strains of L. reuteri to maximize its benefits. This method delivers higher bacterial counts than typical supplements, which are often less effective. He also emphasizes combining L. reuteri with a gut-healthy diet for optimal results.

Everyone should read this book. I am totally engrossed in it. I have had so many problems in the past, and this book has recognised them all. I bought this for family members and friends, this way it stops me from being boring and bombarding them with snippets from the book.

Super davvero.
