I was so excited when this cookbook was finally published! I have several of Giada's cookbooks because her recipes are always good and easy to follow. Since purchasing this morning, I've been perusing it throughout the day and finally finished it this evening. This weekend, my plan is to invite several friends over for dinner to try out some of the recipes since they all sound so delicious! Her cookbooks have never been a disappointment!

This book delivers exactly what it advertises: indulgent recipes using Italy's healthiest foods, which Giada dubs "superfoods". I LOVED the 46 pages that precede the first recipe, because those pages include clear descriptions of why these chosen foods are healthy, and how to enjoy incorporating them into our everyday routines. The mouthwatering recipes are modern, lighter, California variations of real Italian (not Italian-American) dishes from many regions throughout Italy, north to south. Yes, many of the dishes and ingredients will be unfamiliar to many Americans. Quite a few of us will leap at the chance to learn new culinary tricks! Some, especially those seeking familiar Italian-American classics without the nutritional inspiration, will be disappointed. I absolutely love that Giada keeps challenging us to up our game. This is a substantively and visually delightful new cookbook.

Recipies we have used are good. Prep time is rather lengthy.

These are the kinds of recipes I’ve come to expect from Giada. They are typically very accessible, have a brightness to them with a spin, and tasty. It has been awhile since I’ve been excited about her cookbooks but I’m glad to find one that reminds me why she was a go to for me. I’ve tried the chicken piccata meatballs, cauliflower zuppa toscana, and sheet pan lasagna.

I LOVE this cookbook so much! It has motivated me to cooking Italian meals more using delicious/healthy ingredients (Superfoods). I'm planning to make the Garlicky Bread Crumbs tonight.

It has been a while since I bought one of Giada's cookbooks but this one was not a disappointment. I read the preface and some of her family history and how she got where she is now. As a result I got hooked on the products on her online store, Giadzy.com. The recipes look really good as usual and I expect to cook from this book a lot in the very near future. It looks like a winner.

There are some lovely recipes and beautiful photography but I didn’t feel there was anything new. Building a book around certain ingredients is novel but restrictive. I much prefer her earlier books in comparison but I am a Giada fan so needed to have this one for my collection. Let’s see what I’m inspired to cook from it…
