This TV is great. It can be assembled with one person, the TV just needs to go on a sofa while you're putting the legs on. Very easy to put together, and is light enough to carry around by yourself. I've only had this TV for a day but so far, it's been great. If you have a USB stick laying around, you can use it with the Live TV app to pause and fast forward OTA signals. All the apps are great. There are only two concerns. The Live TV app is glitched so using the Roku remote to change channels doesn't always work. If you put a channel on for more than a few minutes, don't expect to be able to use your remote for turning the channel again. It is possible to work around this by pressing star on the remote and changing the channel that way. And the Home button still works if you want to escape the app. The pause and fast forward functions also stop working when this happens. I'm hoping for a software update that will fix this. My second concern, although not too important, is that there is no app for the streaming service Twitch on Roku. But they took their app off of Roku in 2019 and it doesn't look like they'll put it back on. If you can live with those two minor inconveniences, that will probably be eventually fixed, there is virtually no reason not to pick up this TV. The picture is great, especially after you readjust the settings. For $200 this is probably the best television you can get, and may be the best 40-inch TV around. If you need apps that are not supported by Roku, you can always plug in a different streaming device such as Google TV or Fire Stick. My last TV lasted ten years. Three years was with my parents, then seven years with me. I've only had this for a day but I will periodically update this review every few years to give an update if the TV is still working. If this TV lasts five years or more I will be a happy customer. So far so good.

I wanted to try the Roku environment, and I needed a new tv for my sunroom. I am quite pleased with both the TV and with the Roku environment. WHAT I LIKE: Subscription services I bought through the Firestick are still supported in the Amazon Prime environment, so I won't need to set up alternate subscriptions for the Roku. Set up was easy, though you will need to have your passwords to your various subscription services ready to use and tested to make sure they are current. Don't scramble around looking for them as you go. I can tell you from experience that is a frustrating exercise. Sound is quite good with just the TV speakers. However I connected it to a cheap amplifier and music speakers through the headphone jack, and the sound is VERY good. PLUS, the TV remote controls the volume through the headphone jack. The remote controls both the TV and the Roku environment, which is nice, I don't have to keep track of two remote devices. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: The remote, is of course, different from the Firestick remote. It's a good workable design, but I'm so used to the Firestick remotes, that muscle memory sometimes confuses me. The legs are quite wide and only barely fit on the shelf I need to use to hold the TV. It fits, but I really ought to look for a new stand. Alternately, I should have looked for a TV with a Pedestal Base.. A 40 inch TV is not heavy and they should be available with pedestals. CONCLUSION: I would buy this again. It is a good TV sold at a good price. I DO like the Roku environment a bit better than the Firestick environment, but I don't think I like it enough to spend any money switching over to it. It has satisfied my "Roku" itch. The Firestick is good enough. Both environments support the Roku channel service, which I prefer to Freevee (which is also supported by both). I'd say both are viable environments over all.

I bought this TV during a sale at Amazon. It was on sale at an incredibly reduced cost. Our family has now had it for over a month and are very happy with it. The dimensions of the TV are exactly as described, important to us since the cabinet where we placed it only had a half inch leeway ! The picture on the TV is perfect. We usually use the TV to stream or watch cable or DVD's/ Blu Rays and are very impressed with the quality of the picture. The sound quality is also good. One thing I would like to comment on is streaming. When we stream TV using the smart feature of the TV, then the quality of the streaming is only average. I found this to also be the case with 2 other brands of smart TV which I have owned in the past . However, we attached an external streaming device, Amazon firestick, to one of the 3 HDMI ports on the back of the TV and the picture quality using the streaming device is excellent. I recommend people planning on streaming buy an external streaming device in order to maximize the quality of the streaming picture. I read some reviews commenting on the remote control included with the TV. Ours has been working fine. It still has the original batteries supplied with the device and has not given us any problems. So, to sum up, we love this TV.

The picture quality on this TV is excellent, but the sound quality is not. What can you expect from yet another TV whose speaker fires out the BACK of the TV? Is this the best these engineers could do? I had to buy a sound bar to get any decent sound, but the sound bar blocks the use of the remote control signal so I had to put the sound bar halfway to the right of the TV. Pretty silly. Just as bad, the silly little remote control that comes with this is so small and slippery you'll keep dropping it. Why the small size? Design these things to fit normal human hands, please. And the remote has not keypad. Give that some thought. To change channels, you MUST use only the up-and-down arrows. So you're on Channel 5 but you want to see what's on Channel 91? What do you do? You push the "up" arrow about a hundred times to get there. It's truly dumb. Nice TV, cheap, and pleasant enough but the sound weakness and the dumb remote make me like it a lot less.
