You're in for a treat with the TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Range Extender! Seriously, this little gadget packs a punch when it comes to extending your WiFi coverage. First off, let's talk speed. We're talking up to 1200Mbps—that's some serious bandwidth to amp up your internet game. Plus, it's got this dual-band magic going on, meaning you're covered whether you're cruising on the 2.4GHz band at 300Mbps or zipping along on the 5GHz band at a whopping 867Mbps. No more dead zones in your house; this thing's got your back. Setting it up? Piece of cake. They've made it super easy—smart indicator lights guide you to the perfect spot for maximum coverage. Stick it between your router and that pesky zone with poor signal, and voila! Instant boost. Now, here's the real game-changer: OneMesh Technology. You pair it up with the Archer A7 Router, and boom, you've got this seamless mesh network. No more internet drop-offs while moving around the house; it's like a WiFi blanket that follows you. But wait, there's more! Lag-free streaming and gaming? Check. Adaptive path selection finds you the fastest connection, and high-speed mode ensures your binge-watching or gaming sessions go without a hitch. And here's the cherry on top—TP-Link's got your back. They're the big dogs in consumer WiFi for a reason. With a 2-year warranty and 24/7 tech support, you're covered if anything goes wonky. Overall? If you want WiFi that reaches every nook and cranny without a headache, this TP-Link range extender is your go-to hero.

Installed this item in my detached garage, which is about 25 feet away from my house. The distance the extender is located from my router is about 50 feet with a cabinet and 2 walls in the way. Works just fine. Refurbished item looks brand new. Item did not come in original manufacturer packaging, which isn’t a big deal to me; Less to recycle. It did not come with setup instructions, but I searched online for setup instructions for this model “RE300 AC1200” and found it quickly. Followed the setup and got it to work in about 10 mins. Took 2 tries for the extender to connect to my router using the WPS method. No complaints here.

I bought two of this item; placed one on the first floor & the other on the third floor (router is on the second floor). Very easy to set up and now I have connectivity in every corner of the house.

Takes up so much room on the outlet you can't put a nightlight on the other socket. Also, devices seemed to get confused and not switch over to the stronger signal reliably. I returned this and got a mesh network instead which is way better.

I used the product for 12 days, since yesterday it is not working anymore :( In short, the extender is not able to connect to the Hotel Wi-Fi and it is cyclic restarting impossible to use it or even create a diagnosis. Piece of something consuming electrical power for nothing. Here is the scenario with the long story... I am from Germany on a business trip and need to stay in the US for a while. I am very experienced SW-Developer with long experience working in Embedded Systems. Located in a hotel in Portland/TX, the Wi-Fi signal quality is not very good. Typical for a hotel one needs to login into hotel’s Wi-Fi system, but it is free. At my room’s door to the floor the signal is okay but not at the bed my mobile is frequently losing its signal (and not managing to re-login – it is a Samsung product). Hence, I decided to get a Wi-Fi Extender and decided for the known brand TP-Link. The installation was OK, and connecting to Internet was working after restarting the TP-Link extender. Though I could not setup own password (I did not want to share my new connection with other hotel guests) I have been using it since then. Yesterday I realised on my mobile that I could not use Wi-Fi anymore. I observed that the LED’s on the Extender were not stable anymore but indicating kind of cyclic activity. Today I tried everything to understand the problem – I reset the extender to the factory settings, re-configured but no way – finally it is cyclic restarting after using Hotel Wi-Fi as hosting Wi-Fi. To test the extenders behaviour I used mobile Internet via my mobile – then it worked as expected. However, I do not want to use the product this is way. I assume there’s some issue with Extenders login into Hotel Wi-Fi; either it cannot forward the login request from Hotel Wi-Fi to the connecting device. Maybe it is blocked at the Hotel Wi-Fi (blocking it’s MAC address). In Germany I had try to use another TP-Link product – a DSL Router. Finally, I decided for different brand since TP-Link did not provide reliable connection quality. Since then I never bought a TP-Link product again… At this point, I can suggest everybody not to lose time trying to use product when it started showing strange behaviour. Go with another one. In addition, a few words to the TP-Link’s SW-Development team. I don’t know your criteria hiring SW developers. Nor I know what kind of quality assurance system you established. I can only say your products are not of good SW quality. No, they are amateurish programmed by Firmware developers who had better learn some other confession. If you want to sell your products working and tested in some lab conditions only, do please inform your potential customers about your decision.

When I say I’m not a technical person I absolutely mean it! I’m that person who refuses to upgrade my phone because I simply don’t want to learn how to use a new one. So when my horrible Internet provider began slowing down my Internet to force me to upgrade I refused! Luckily for me I heard about this handy little device and how it boosted your Wi-Fi signal. But what about installation you’re asking? If I could do it at 4am in the morning with one cup of coffee in my system and no help you can too! Within minutes I was up and fully functional and haven’t looked backed since! I may just keep my horrible LectDectrum (name has been changed to protect their horrid service) as it now actual does what it’s supposed to do! Try it! I no longer lose service with my whole arsenal of 4 devices being connected simultaneously!
