Honestly, I have only had the TP-Link AC2600 WiFi Extender(RE650) for about 2 weeks. But it performs awesome - solid signals on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Extremely easy to setup, just use the WPS or Log Directly into it. I did both methods just to see how it would go, as I generally never use the WPS (EASY METHOD) of adding devices to my router, I had to go ahead and try it. Went so easy, so easy. But being a bit of a computer, networking nut, I still like doing things the direct hands on way, so directly logged in, very easy to navigate, changed that default security password jazz - DO THIS or anyone who sees these devices or any hooked to your system, will straight off try to log in to them and either hack you or just lock you out. Not to scare anyone, just keep that in mind with ANY electronic devices hooked to your network. Save yourself the heartache. That said, it's so easy to do or have a family member help you, but it is really very easy. read and follow the easy directions and you should not have any problem. My LinkSys Router used to (2yrs ago) delivered a 5 BAR signal to everywhere on my property (about 1/2 acre) but my house is only about 1850 sq-ft. Router sits in the farthest room from screened back porch. As I said, 2 yrs ago the signal was 5 BARS everywhere maybe occasionally at the farthest corner of the property I might dip to 3 but then zoom back up to 5 within seconds. That was 2 yrs ago, more homes have been built, more cell towers etc. So for the last 12 - 15 months, that great signal dropped to 5 BARS occasionally with 2 mostly or completely dropping signal altogether. That's some Big League Taboo nowadays, so that leads me to my purchase of the TP-Link AC2600 WiFi Extender(RE650) - Plugged it in at the opposite end of the house - In the Laundry Room. No problems. Solid Signal on both bands - never drops at all, not even a flicker. Fast transfer speeds, I upload / download photos and graphics to and from my place of work. No hick-ups, no more dropouts, just a solid enjoyable signal. Watch HD and some 4k videos over it without a bit of trouble. This device is top shelf in my opinion. You can set timers for when it shuts off and wakes up (when nobody's home) and can even set the led lights to always on, always off, or at a sleep/wake time. Yeah you can get cheaper, but that's generally a gamble with finding a diamond, usually you get what you pay for. Who needs that headache to save 25 or 50 bucks. Not saying saving some money is a bad thing, I like money too, work hard for it, so throwing it away is not something I do either, but if your internet and network traffic is important to you - why skimp. There may be better too, really just depends on how you use it. If you're a real Rockefeller Type, go for whatever fits your need. I just needed my strong signal and network/internet transmission speeds back to STELLAR. And STELLAR is what this 58 yr old kid got with this TP-Link WIFI Extender. Oh, and it comes with an Ethernet port built into it for direct configuring or getting even more speed out of it. I only used it for the direct login to the device and to upload a new update. That was easy peasy too. Oh, and it has 4 swing up antennas on it. Really nice device, just place it and forget it. Sorry for such a long winded review, but it is an honest one. Like I said, I have only had it for maybe 2-3 weeks, more 2 weeks. Will definitely update if anything happens to change it. FOR NOW IT'S AWESOME AND 5 STARS. Hope this was helpful people. Thanks TP-LINK. Very well done.

I have a home network that extends via CAT5e to my external shop building. I originally had an old wireless router in my shop but when I installed a NAS in my home, I could not access it from the shop. To solve that, I bridged the shop router to the home router but that caused all kinds of intermittent conflicts so I replaced the shop router with this wireless extender and set it up as an access point which was very easy to do. I also added an ethernet switch to my home network so all the attached devices go through that switch. Now I have flawless networking throughout my house. I purchased a second of these wifi extenders for the garage on the other side of my house to get more reliable networking for my Tesla which uses wireless internet for over the air updates. I have to run a new cable across the attic for that installation so the second access point is not yet installed.

Picking number of stars was tricky. This product has some quirks but often works exceptionally well. The instructions were accurate but a little wishy washy on why you might have to do the the WPS button sync up twice (or many times since I experimented). When it works it gives me 3X the performance on 5GHz in my basement office than I got with the straight unextended TP-Link AC3150 I use and 2.5X on 2.4GHz. So why not 5 stars? Sometimes, more than I am happy with, my MacBook Pro connects to the original AC3150 on 5GHz which has a low signal and weak throughput down here. 2.4GHz always connects to the RE650 (AC2600 range extender). I should be happy about that but I do a lot of streaming and 5GHz is what I want. The AC3150 base router is far from here and a floor up. I bought the range extender as a bandaid until I go mesh or otherwise refactor the network.I can usually get it to connect to 5GHz down here by switching to 2.4 and then back again. That's a pain in the butt. I know which one I am connected to by inspecting the BSSID. I am a new convert to TP-Link devices and on the whole I am delighted with their high performance. This range extender is still an A- for me. There might be a configuration option I haven't explored that solves this problem. I have seen people say "it won't connect to my iPhone/iPad" and give it bad reviews. I wonder how they know since it isn't easy without a network analyzer on your iOS device. I checked and mine is connecting 100% on my portable devices. It is just my MacBook Pro that is wishy washy. I will try with Linux, Windows, other Macs and a robot or two. So far I feel like this was a good purchase in need of a little more time on my side to find the best setup. I more or less used the default "clone your SSID/PW" and extend existing network options using the WPS button. I've repeated this 3 or 4 times with the RE in different places including right next to AC3150 base. I always have to do it twice to get 2.4GHz and 5GHz cloned which is hinted at in docs. FWIW I live in the forest without much interference from other WiFi frequency devices. Advice: if you aren't a techie, you need to be cautious. This might work flawlessly for you especially if you don't care about 2.4 vs 5. Looking at other reviews many people seemed thrilled. Like I said when it works I get 3X the performance. That's worth $120 no doubt. I just wish it was a little more consistent

I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the TP-Link AC2600 WiFi Extender (RE650). It's not just another WiFi extender - it's a game changer for my home. Our house used to suffer from weak WiFi signals in certain areas, particularly in rooms far away from the router. I tried multiple WiFi extenders before this one, but none of them seemed to do the trick. My WiFi connection would often drop during crucial moments, such as online meetings and team calls, causing endless frustration. However, since plugging in the TP-Link AC2600 WiFi Extender (RE650), our home WiFi has transformed dramatically. No longer do we encounter the dreaded dropped connections. The range and signal strength have improved exponentially, and the extender's promise of high-speed connectivity holds true. It provides the seamless performance I have been seeking, ensuring that our office team calls and general internet usage are no longer marred by constant interruptions. The setup process was a breeze - following the easy-to-understand instructions, I had the extender up and running in no time. It also comes with a user-friendly app that allows me to manage the network, customize settings, and monitor usage. The sleek design is an added bonus, as it doesn't stand out or clash with existing décor. Overall, I cannot recommend the TP-Link AC2600 WiFi Extender (RE650) highly enough. It's a top-quality device that delivers on its promises and helps create a smooth and consistent WiFi experience throughout the entire house. If you're tired of dealing with spotty internet connections and yearn for robust, uninterrupted service in every corner of your home, the TP-Link AC2600 WiFi Extender (RE650) is the answer.

I bought this and found it to be amazing product. It is able to extend wifi range to my entire 4 bedroom apartment. The best part is that you can keep the same SSID, so no need to switch networks when you're away. It's also much cheaper than the typical mesh networking solutions so perfect for a mid - large size household
