I wanted to increase the WiFi coverage in my house, and this extender does a really good job of that! My router is a TP-Link AX5400 (Archer AX73), and is "EasyMesh" compatible. I tried using other less expensive (aka "cheaper") WiFi extenders, and I got what I paid for. TP-Link recommends this particular extender (the RE815X), and it works great. Setup was a very easy - Plug in the extender while it's near the router, press the WPS buttons on both devices. They link up, and you're good to go. Move the extender to where you want it, check that the signal light indicates it's receiving an acceptable signal, and that's it. The router and extender together use a third 5GHz radio to communicate with each other, and the extender essentially extends both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz band so that BOTH bands get an extended signal. The end result is like having two routers. As for the size of the extender, it's larger than a dual outlet wall plate. I put mine in an unused outlet (imagine that!) under the counter in the kitchen. I put my router in one corner of the house floorplan, and I put the extender in the opposite diagonal corner. I now have better coverage for all my smart home and IOT devices. Devices on the second floor now get a 5GHz connection where they only had coverage for a 2.4GHz before. The signal is strong enough to reach Alexa devices in the backyard. The signal strength for my Ring cameras has improved with the addition of this extender. If I could change just one thing about it, it would be that the connected device names show up in the management interface of the extender. The router will identify all the devices connected to the network and show the name, MAC address, and DHCP assigned IP. The extender shows the devices that are connecting to the network using the extender, but the it (the extender) only shows the MAC address and IP of the devices, and not the name. This would be a "nice-to-have", but isn't a "show-stopper" for me. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and I would recommend it. It might be seen as a little "pricey", but I think the overall value is well worth the cost. I have no regrets buying it.

I normally use my landlord's WiFi but lately, my signal has been crappy, especially for zoom meetings. Not wanting to interfere with his setup, I tried a couple of newer USB Wi-Fi adapters but the drivers were buggy or they didn't pick up the signal as well as my built in adapter. But this extender worked great for my backyard apt, picking up a strong signal across the yard and from the front side of the main house. Setup is not as easy as the instructions make it sound like it should be. The video wasn't much better. But after trying variations, I got it to work. I have it up high using an extension cord with a laptop cooler stand underneath (it seems to run a little warm and more importantly, my apt gets super hot in the summer). I'm tickled with how well it's working.

This super worked well for me, and I'm using it to extend the range, and it just was easy peasy to set up and use.

I would say 4.6 Stars. Out the box used WPS. Took 3 times but the third was a charm. Was it TP-links fault or mine that it took 3 minutes to start rather than one? Overall, the signal is stronger with the AX5400 on my phone. Getting -36 to -39 dBm on both bands with extender. -72dBm and -63 dBm on the bands without the extender at the same location (second story with router on the first). In case you ask for Wi-Fi, dBm is often used to measure the signal strength or received signal strength indicator (RSSI), which tells you how strong or weak the Wi-Fi signal is at a specific location.-30 dBm is a very strong signal (almost ideal for Wi-Fi). On the speed, with the extender getting 352 Mpbs down and 293 Mpbs up on the 5.0 band and 176 Mpbs down and 119 Mpbs on the 2.4 band. Without the extender I get 156 Mpbs on the down and 96 Mpbs on the up for the 5.0 band and 153 Mpbs on the down and 116 Mpbs on the up for the 2.4 band. Mbps (megabits per second) is a unit of measurement for data transfer speed. In the context of Wi-Fi, it refers to how fast data can be transferred over the wireless network, typically in terms of download and upload speeds. As you can see from my tests the extender almost doubles my speed for the 5.0 band BUT for the 2.4 band at this time is basically the same speed. While a stronger signal generally indicates a good connection, speed is influenced by many other factors beyond just signal strength. The extender is definitely providing a stronger signal which generally means more reliability in terms of stable connectivity, lower chances of disconnections, and the ability to maintain a better-quality data transfer. I am getting very similar speeds for Wi-Fi for my desktop. I am keeping the AX5400 for the increased signal strength and the faster 5.0 band, but only giving 4.6 stars due to no increase in the speed of the 2.4 band, although the cause is probably congestion and not the fault of the extender Still pretty good rating.

I used this to extend the signal from my Starlink, through the TP Link router in the garage (the only place the Starlink was mountable) to the rest of our cabin. It was comically easy to add it to the router. Push the button on both. Done. After installation, this extender broadcast to two AppleTV's and 8 devices simultaneously without dropping. We purposely connected all the devices we had with us to test the system. The Mac app "WiFi Scanner" confirmed a strong tri-band signal. I also love that it does not have a "wall wart" power supply, but instead plugs directly into a wall plug. Nice and clean.

Works great. I tried three different extenders and this one hands down works the best and is the fastest.
