Two story house where the living room and kitchen area couldn't get good signal with the ISP equipment. The signal was so bad previously that streaming video was impossible. Put one of these upstairs and one downstairs, one wired directly to the ISP modem and the other as WAP. Did a great job of eliminating the dead spot and gives enough signal to watch vids and such.

I've been using TP-Link routers and extenders for a minute but I wasn't getting consistent speeds and had connectivity issues until I got the Deco. Really like that I get a notification anytime a new device joins the network, that I have one network throughout my house and that I can optimize my channels for the best connection using the suite of tools that come with the App. Outside of my ISP having issues from time to time there is no connectivity issue with any of the 20+ devices that are connected (and I still have room for approximately 80 more devices to connect)

We have a ranch style home with a fully completed basement. Our cable modem is set up in one corner of the basement where the Spectrum cable enters our home. I had a NetGear router that I purchased at Walmart and it covered half of the house with WiFi signal. If you were upstairs and at the other end of the house, your device would say you had WiFi signal but the connection would be sooooo painfully slow and often drop out. A couple of years ago I decided to just install a second WiFi router at the other end of the house. That solved the problem of connectivity but now we had multiple WiFi networks to connect to and it was just irritating switching between networks depending on where you were in the house. Enter the Mesh style WiFi network. I've had my eye on them for a while but did not want to spend a small fortune to install one. I did the research and settled on the TP-Link Deco. These were actually even cheaper as they were refurbished. Super easy to set up and I have consistent WiFi all over my house with just one network. The app is very easy to use to fine tune your WiFi however you'd like. It actually alerts me every time a new device connects. One feature I didn't stumble upon until after I'd had it a few days is the LED status light is able to be turned off. I didn't realize this and this is installed in the corner of my bedroom and it is SO BRIGHT in the dark. My wife threw a pillow over it on night number 2 to get rid of the light. However, within the app you can turn the status light off. I also like that you can plug these into an ethernet cord and use them to feed other plugged in devices. Highly recommend if you are struggling with WiFi coverage in your home.

It's worked great for the last three and a half years with minimal hiccups. Naturally, the satellite (non-main) extenders work better if hardwired.

The pictures in order 1 deco w2400 specs on box. The other two are for the deco M9 box First of all the box states the Specifications as: "Wireless 300 Mbps on 2.4 Ghz and 867 Mbps on 5 Ghz". And of course if Mbps speed is important as many internet speeds basic plans are up to 600 Mbps you want a mesh wifi to handle these speeds, right? Well it's not quite what the box says and in fact what you probably won't figure out until your so frustrated at getting slow speeds and like me you'll move them all over. Then I called TP Link support complaining about the slow speeds and they say with your size house 1500 sq its suggested I purchase another set of 2 w2400s at $60. Despite the fact the box says it can reach 2 to 4 bedrooms. Well I only use two rooms one for an office (PC and printer wifi) and bedroom for 1 TV. and rooms are next to each other divided, as the other walls drywall. No cement sheet rock metal just wood and drywall. So I buy another set of 2 place them in each of the two rooms, plus the hallway and 15 feet from the main router. All total the 4 w2400s from the router to the farthest one is about 35 feet. So set them up and guess what? The internet speed drops. So after 5 speed tests the total Mbps is 10-13 download. Again, my internet plan is 600 mbps. Well I call TP Link support again, tell them what's going on. For the next 47 min yes, I am now tracking the hours I'm investing in this, and they guide through changing nearly every possible configuration in settings. I mean at least 8. And after all the that, no change in speed. I asked if every customer has to go through these reconfigurations and they said, yes. Makes no sense but here I am. So they ask how many Mbps are in my Spectrum plan? I say 600 and they tell me, "oh well these deco w2400s only take a maximum of 100 Mbps. Wait, the box says 300/867 Mbps. They say no that's not we meant on the box and they go into this long explanation of why the box is correct and its my issue my expectations are too high. I went around and around and around trying to understand why the box says one thing, but the units are way different. I got nothing that makes sense. So their advise buy another mesh system and gave me options including the deco M9 plus. Of course I'm angry and i've invested about $140 in deco w2400s. This was 8 mo ago and I've just dealt with the slow speeds. Yesterday I buy the deco M9 plus. It supposed to cover up to 4500 sq ft, handle 400 to 867 Mbps goes through walls, no dead zones on and on. So I go to remove the w2400 and replace with the M9 plus via the app. All goes well for an hour then it deletes my network and they only provide 50 to 80 mbps. So I call support again, they tell me the firmware is not updated which is the problem. They send a link Im updating the firmware then it flashed and the M9s go dead. Now I have no internet. Contacted TP support again, and for the next 2 hours and 7 min went through doing this and that and finally I get internet wifi back and the Mbps is at 38 a far cry from the 400/867 thats on the box. And their suggestion? You need to buy another satellite I can't accomplish the goal with only 2. What? The box says the two do all of these things. Nope you need 3. These are going back to Target and the w2400s are going on ebay.

I've had trouble with wi-fi in my house ever since we built it 15 years ago. I've tried so many things from additional access points to extenders to 2 different mesh networks. This is probably the least expensive approach I've tried, and, so far, the one that works the best. Our wi-fi works throughout the house. The connections are much faster than other wi-fi networks. When we are close to a base unit, we get about 100Mbps. When we are further away, the speed drops to 25Mbps. Either of those is enough to stream. It's not as good as our wired connections, but more than adequate. More important, the speed is very consistent so we haven't had any buffering. I am connecting these devices to my wired network rather than relying on wi-fi relays. That took a few minutes to set up, but wasn't difficult. One nice feature is that these have 2 Ethernet ports. I can connect a base unit to the Ethernet port in the wall and then connect a computer to it. Seriously, this was the best $50 I've spent in a long time.
