Using this device in place of the Service providers Modem/wifi (save $10-12 / month rental ROI ~ 10 months). 2Gb fiber terminal feeds into the WAN port and 1 port has 2Gb out to my desktop (also a 2Gb input), I'm getting the full flow available to my desktop PC. After logging in to the router, I was very pleased with the ability to tweak and setup up any detail I could desire. Too many features to talk about. Chose this router after using Grok to size up all the pros and cons of similar brands and models. Fully compatible with Windstream / Kinetic Fiber internet service up to their 2Gb service. My speed test at the PC is 2100/2099 Mbs while using this device. Also doesn't hurt that TP is a signatory with CISA for cyber security compliance.

Upgraded from seven year old WiFi5. WiFi speed in the house: 1) old WiFi5 router: 30-40 MB, 2) new router w/o Tether app: 80-90 MB, 3) new router with Tether app: 250-300 MB. WiFi connected to 900 MB download speed Xfinity cable. UPDATE: Raised the router about 8" (was behind, near the top, of the monitor) and adjusted the antennas to point to points-of-use (mostly in the room upstairs, directly over the router). Speed there is now 500-750 MB. In the upstairs room at the far end of a 1200 SF house, speed is 40-80 MB. Says it will work with a generic mesh extender.

Just bought and setup. It works so far. However, there are two negative things: 1. The ethernet ports in the back do not have led indicators. I had some minor connection issue, and not knowing if it's the wiring or something else. 2. I cannot login to admin page in 1 computer. It keeps going back to the same login page, although I double checked the password. I was able to login from another computer. If not, this would be a brick. I will update the review as time goes.

I had an issue with a dead spot in one of my rooms and did not wish to spend a boat load of money on a mesh system that comes with a full system. I noticed this had a mesh option and I have another TP link that is mesh compatible. I linked them together and works like a charm. Now I have better and more stable internet in the room.

Got this to replace about a 3 year old TP-Link router (was working fine) after Windows 11 added support for WiFi 7 protocols. I've had 4 or 5 TP-Link routers over the years and generally have been completely satisfied with all of the both from a performance, reliability and cost standpoint. Had a minor problem with the install as I could not find what password I used with the login of the older router and it wanted me to do a reset. In doing so I misread the instructions and found myself in somewhat of an endless loop and just decided to call tech support (3:00 am in the Midwestern US). Got connected to a very helpful tech ("Alexander Caberto") that walked me through the reset procedure (I should have waited for the light to quit blinking after letting off the reset button) and after waiting the setup was flawless from then on. Really good pricing and signal strength.

Review for: TP-Link Dual-Band BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Router Archer BE230 | 4-Stream 3.6 Gbps | 2ร2.5G + 3ร1G Ports, USB 3.0, 2.0 GHz Quad Core, 4 Antennas | VPN Clients & Server | EasyMesh, HomeShield, MLO, Private IOT. I think the BE230 would be a good router, but it doesn't currently work well as an EasyMesh satellite. I got a TP Link GE650 to replace my Orbi RBK22 mesh system. I wanted to upgrade to WiFi 7. That router is good and fast, but the range wasn't much better than the Orbi base (without the satellite). So I got two of these BE230's to serve as my satellites, using EasyMesh. The setup went fairly smoothly and I was happy with the much increased speed. I did later find out that some of my smart plugs didn't connect. I used the same SSID's and passwords, so I wouldn't have to reconnect everything. Well, after some internet searching, I found out that the satellites don't broadcast the Guest or IoT networks. The range of the GE650 wasn't strong enough for some of the smart plugs to see and connect. The plugs were very close to one of the BE230's. I use my Guest network a lot and and was really wanting to utilize the IoT network. This shortcoming makes the Guest and IoT networks useless, unless you have a smaller house. The internet searching show this shortcoming has been there for quite some time, with no fix schedule being communicated by TP Link. Hopefully TP Link will provide FW updates to fix this issue soon. If not for this issue, I would have given this a better rating. Sorry, I can't provide much information on how good the BE30 is as a router since I used them as satellites. They work well as satellites except for the Guest and IoT network issue. I can assume they would work well as a router since the GE650 does a good job as a router.

This works as advertised. Just reading other reviews, it seems they do not understand how it works. I can confirm gigabit Ethernet, tested and achieved 1.0 gbit/ second transferring data locally. The WiFi strength is what id expect from a 70$ router, and it can deliver my Internets top speed to any of my devices in the home. Good replacement for my old router.
