This adapter offers decent range at an affordable price. It has a blinking blue light, which can be annoying but it isn't too noticeable. I bought this adapter to use my PS3 controllers via bluetooth. Using this adapter, you can connect up to 4 controllers via Bluetooth. Before you can use your controller through bluetooth, you need to install the MotioninJoy DS3 tool, then load and install the MiJ driver onto the adapter and your controller. Keep in mind that once the bluetooth adapter has been set up with MiJ, it will only work for PS3 controllers and cannot be used for any other devices. (Although this can be reversed by rolling back to the original driver.) If you're trying to get a generic/3rd party controller to work, make sure you have MiJ version 0.6.0005 (current new versions don't support them). The last thing that needs to be done is to configure the controller. You'll probably want to use your PS3 controller as an Xbox 360 controller, since it is compatible with most games. To do this, select the Xbox 360 mode option and click enable. Everything works great once it's all set up. Make sure you open up the DS3 tool program to use your "Xbox 360" controller and don't forget to keep your controller charged.

Software: Let me first say, do not follow the instructions provided by the packaging that state "Do not install the device until instructed to do so" You do not need to use the Software Provided, this BT device will be fully supported by Microsoft's own drivers it picks up from Windows Update. I installed as instructed and eventually had to restore my system and manually point to the correct drivers to make it work. Meanwhile I tested the theory that the provided software was useless by simply plugging in the device to a new PC, Microsoft Windows Update located and installed the drivers automatically and works great. The software in the package is version 5.XXX, This is very unstable and crashed multiple times on Windows 7 x64. On bluesoleil website, you'll find that version 9 is available to customers who have version 5.XXX, but I haven't yet figured out the whole "Free" thing... which seems to be the biggest complaint against this Blue Soleil company. I think TrendNet made a mistake partnering with this company, and it is making their product looks bad. Support: Support is provided from 9:00AM to 7:00PM Beijing Time... So, getting someone to help at a feasible time is impossible. I didn't bother. Hardware: The BT Adapter is small, powerful, and with Bluetooth 4.0 capable devices is also fast. I purchased this alongside a Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner Adapter to check vehicle performance and data while on the move and it performs flawlessly.

I bought this to connect my ps3 controller through Bluetooth with Motioninjoy, cause I got tires of using it's defaultusb since it was too short, if you want to connect your ps3 controller to your pc without the usb cable, this will do the trick with Motioninjoy since it's compatible, I already tested this on the 0.7.0001 drivers, and it works perfectly. I'm guessing the makers of this dongle built this for the main to connect the ps3 controller since it connected to well with the ps3 controller flawlessly(if you know the procedure), I can't verify if thus will work with anything other than a ps3 controller, anything passive or casual like a speaker or etc, all I know is that this baby works with ps3 controllers, and nothing else, and for a very convenient price, these are one of the very few dongles that can connect a ps3 controller to a pc correctly, because most Bluetooth adapters are not compatible with Motioninjoy. This thing deserves five stars on my behalf. Nice work trendnet :)

My PC wouldn't run "Your Phone" on my iPhone, had worked fine with the Android phone. It turns out that my Bluetooth adapter was obsolete. I pulled it out and put this one in, within a few minutes the "Your Phone" app worked again!

I picked up this adapter to use my PS3 controllers wirelessly on my PC. MotionInJoy compatability listed the previous version of this adapter (TBW-106UB) as compatible, and I can confirm that this adapter works as well. I was already using MotionInJoy / BetterDS3 to use my controllers via USB, so drivers were already installed. When I plugged in the adapter, some drivers installed that mentioned Motioninjoy, so no additional work needed to be done. To get the controllers to connect, I simply loaded up BetterDS3, and connected via USB. The bluetooth portion lit up, and there was a button there (something like change master) and I clicked that. Then I unplugged USB, and it reconnected via Bluetooth! I did the same with another controller, and I was able to have both controllers connected and functioning via Bluetooth. The Adapter is tiny and does flash a blue LED every few seconds, but I leave this plugged into the back of my PC, so it doesn't bother me. Highly recommend for the purposes of using PS3 controllers on your PC. Cannot comment on any other functionality.

This device does NOT work with Windows 10!!! The software is terrible! The Bluetooth devices can see the PC but the software will not work so I can not pair them. My advice - save yourself a lot of anger and frustration and buy a USB Bluetooth USB dongle for some other company.

I used this bluetooth dongle on a Raspberry PI 3 to get a PS3 controller working. I also plug my bluetooth keyboard with my multi media PC running on windows XP or Ubuntu and I have to say I don't have any issue in fact the response and the connectivity was better than my old dongle. I also used this dongle to listen to my music via my bluetooth handset and I was really impressed listen to the music from 10 m away. Very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product if you need a bluetooth dongle.

J'ai acheté cette clé pour pouvoir connecter un ordinateur sur une assez grosse enceinte bluetooth et profiter de la musique en mobilité. Cette clé sera nomade entre 2 ordinateurs. J'ai testé sur un Pc sous windows7, cela marche après l'installation du driver et de l'application Bluesoleil. Je l'ai également branchée sur un PC sous Linux Mint 17 Cinamon, elle a été immédiatement reconnue et opérationnelle (c'est vraiment bien linux !!). La portée est très bonne puisque d'un étage à un autre ça passe nickel. Au fond du jardin aussi ! La clé est livrée avec un embout USB "rallonge". C'est extrêmement pratique si vous avez un PC un peu "design" où vos prises USB sont noyées dans la structure. Bref, que du positif !
