Such a fun and nostalgic gift for my daughter! I bought this Tamagotchi for my daughter, and she absolutely loves it! This Tamagotchi was a huge hit with the kids! They absolutely love taking care of their virtual pet, and it keeps them entertained for hours. It’s surprisingly durable, too—it has been dropped a few times, but it still works perfectly fine, which is a big plus when it comes to kids' toys. I never had a tamagotchi growing up, and totally missed out on the original craze back in the day. With these new re-releases though, I decided to pick one up - and oh boy, it's simple but I love it so much! I picked out the blue colored Amazon exclusive tamagotchi, purely because it comes with a plastic case, while the others do not. And I'm glad I did, as the case does protect the entire unit, and so far has done a great job of protecting it from getting damaged. I've dropped this several times, I accidentally stepped on it, and it got rained on a little bit when attached to my bag - so definitely like the case, even if it's just a plastic clip-on piece. Now for the tamagotchi itself - there is a bit of a learning curve, but after a day I figured it out. The instructions it came with were vague, so googling all my questions really made a difference. The programming on this is almost identical to the originals, it is fairly simple; definitely recommend to anuone new to taking care of a tamagotchi. Now my only complaint is that the device makes these awful and loud beeping noises every time you press a button, BUT you can turn it off by holding the A and C buttons at the same time. The tamagotchi will still make a sound when it needs something, though. I will eventually get another one in a different colors, as I did have a hard time picking out just one as my favorite!

This was a gift for my teenage daughter. She loves it and enjoys playing with it. It's a Gen 1 model. She's had 2 pets so far, one that aged and turned into an angel, and the current one that turned into a secret character. She was excited about that. It's a good quality product. There have been no issues with the screen on game play. The design is very cute. Would recommend. I also bought a Gen 2 version for my other daughter. It won't allow me to write a review for that one. So I'll include a picture of it, it's the black sparkle one. And it's just as good as the sprinkle one. Very happy with both.

If you had a Tomagotchi before, this will bring back instant memories. Identical with more case options. The good is that it is what you remember and works just the same. Take care of, feed, play a game, clean up, and raise your Tomagotchi. The negatives are still there as well, you can't control when it actually goes to sleep and if you leave it alone for 5-6 hours it will most likely die. These two things make it fairly difficult for school age kids to play with as some will stay up as late as 10pm and then potentially die while they are at school. Overall it works well, but the screen not having a light does make it difficult to see. The battery lasts a very long time and for the price, I can't complain too much about what you are getting.
