warm; funny; informative; quizzical and she asks the same questions many of think about. Amazing author and artist! LOVE this book! Highly recommended for bird lovers, and people who wonder about our back yard friends.

Wonderful, interesting bird book by Amy Tan. Filled with lovely sketches, personal bird stories and observations.
Very glad I ordered this book!

The book is beautiful! Purchased it for my daughter, a bird lover as a gift. Lovely illustrations and writing by one of my favorite writers!
My one complaint and one I’ve seen mentioned several times is it arrived with a crinkled corner of the dust jacket! Doesn’t come in a box but a bubble envelope.

Within an hour of taking this beautiful book out of the package, I found answers regarding two separate visitors to my backyard feeders. Bewick's wren and American goldfinches, truly far-ranging newcomers that may have been blown over the Sierra Nevada and into my Minden, NV backyard. It was pure serendipity that I caught sight of these two species in drawings in the book. Magnificent and accurate illustrations far bigger and more helpful than even my photographic field guide. And I haven't even begun reading Tan's chronicles about the birds. WOW! Thank you, Ms. Tan. You made my day.

I haven’t actually received this copy yet; but; I was given the book by a very dear friend and ordered it immediately for another bird and Nature lover. I may not have Tan’s talent, however, we are definitely kindred spirits. Covid played a huge part in the massive increase in birder groups. Her book took years and it is so worth the wait. Not only are the illustrations here magnificent and wholly accurate— her light commentary is spot on and insightful. There were times I laughed out loud (owl faces, etc..). Tan lets you in her little safe Nature bubble— and particularly in these precarious times, it is a blessing. Thank you Ms. Tan. 🕊️

Wonderful drawings, in a very personal way, looks like you’re looking through a favorite relative’s journal. Marvelous!

The book itself is absolutely lovely and charming. However, I advise buying from your local bookstore since Amazon takes well over 2 months to ship and deliver it. Also, was shipped in a plastic shipping envelope that had zero padding so the corners and spine are damaged. I should return it, but I waited so long for it that I’ll keep it.

Lovely book bought for my husband he dips in and out of it but it is very specific to America which makes sense as that’s where she lives need someone to do a UK equivalent!

This beautiful book never reached my friend. Amazon said it was delivered but she did not get it and I have not been able to get a refund and resend the gift to her.

This is a beautiful book to read or sit on your coffee table for you to share with fellow birders.

I had the book sent directly to my daughter.
She loves the book but because it was just sent in thin packing the book is damaged as you can see on the photo. The book was not cheap so I feel sorry about the shape it arrived in.
Is there any refund possible?

Drawings and writing are engaging. A great way to understand the life of a bird.
