The second in the Lost Brides Trilogy starts where the first finished.
This is an amazing story of love with multiple weddings performed in Lost Brides Manor that explain the home’s name. Seven brides married, and very shortly after died under very frightening circumstances. We met Dobbs, the evil entity that occupies the house in the first book, she is still disrupting life in the second.
We have our usual cast of characters, Sonya the graphic designer who inherited the house. Cleo, her best friend/like sister who is an artist. Trey, a lawyer and frequent visitor to the house as a child, and Sonya’s lover. Owen, Sonya’s cousin who is very attracted to Cleo, he is a contractor.
Little by little the house ghosts have become family, of course except Dobbs. Ms. Robert’s always includes the most wonderful pets in her stories, and we have three dogs, and a cat who are very much part of the family.
Her characters are wonderful, with plenty of romance, suspense and things that go bump in the night. I can’t wait for the third book.

No other word describes this second installment of the lost brides. Holy cow, what a great book. I cannot wait for the conclusion.
In this second installment you follow Sonya as she gets to know the history of her family. The mirror calls to her as she becomes a unique witness in the history of Poole House and all her family that has come before her by getting glimpses of her ancestors lives.
She discovers more of her legacy and the strength in love, friendship, and family throughout this book. She will need all the strength that she can get from her family and legacy past, present, and future.
Settle down for a great story that takes you throughout the history of the Poole House. Sit back and enjoy the ride. You'll love every minute of it.

Nora Roberts is a master storyteller and this book gripped me from the first page to the compelling last. I enjoy all the characters of Lost Bride Manor, living and ghost, excepting the villain, of course, and their relationships are so pleasant I just want to spend more time with them. As Sonya learns their stories and pieces together the mystery, trying to understand how and why Hester Dobbs has murdered the family brides for 200 years, she sees and hears Dobbs' interactions with her victims and her incantations. We also don't know where this leads and how it all ties together but I am now wild to read book 3 and find out! Just a year to hang on, I imagine...

I adore Nora Roberts (JD Robb) and have read nearly everything she has written. (twice or more). Because I wanted to keep the continuity going, I re-read the first book before I inhaled the second one. I loved the characters (especially Owen and Cleo’s grand-mere) and the overall story is interesting and creative. But I do agree with what one review said about the “filler”. I couldn’t believe how many times we had to read about the animals going out of the house to relieve themselves. Thank god a cat came along to relieve (pun intended) some of that tedium. The Event party was fun, but with the exception of the murders she commits, Dobbs isn’t too scary. I am enjoying all the other ghosts and their antics. I do look forward to the 3rd book and sort of hope the love interests have a little falling out and get back together again. Some love angst would be entertaining.

Nora Roberts did it again. Amazing story that brought both laughter and tears. I pre-ordered this book back in February after reading Inheritance and I’ve been counting down the months until this came out. I swore to myself that I would not read this book in one day, but I broke that promise. When I got the notification that this was released I instantly started reading it and didn’t put it down until the end. It was difficult waiting 9 months for this one, and I know it’ll be even more difficult waiting for the next

This series by NR is by far one of her best. I’ve been reading her for years and this one is off the charts great! I’m not one to leave reviews - but I’m literally wanting more. I need to know what happens, how it happens, and who else helps!
NR has a complete home run with this series. Bring on Book 3!!!

I was looking forward to the second book in The Lost Bride Trilogy and it did not disappoint. You can’t help but love all of the characters and admire the courage and strength of Sonya. The ending, a bit of a cliff hanger, leaves you wanting more. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series.

I loved this book and the one before. I have actually read both several times already and can not wait for the next one.
If you love great stories with lots of heart and intrigue, these books are for you. I'm looking forward to how they break the curse..

It's got all of the day to day living with all of the details slowly filling in the historical information to get a complete sense of the story. Nora is masterful in how she meshes the two streams together. There's not a single boring moment in the entire book. That cliffhanger totally threw me. What, what happened here? Where's the next page??? I'm totally waiting for book #3. Do we have to wait an entire year?

Yet again another brilliant story woven with love of life and laughter. Will wait with great patience for the final installment. Please keep writing as it would be a dull place without these stories.

An awful lot of filler in this book, it seems like the actual plot could have been told in a few chapters and the rest was added to bump it up into a trilogy. So much description about unimportant things where nothing happened to move the plot along.
I don’t think I’ll bother with the 3rd in the series, it seems like a money grab at this point when the whole thing could have been told in one book.
